It is really amazing what 100 years had done: the Italians back then flocked to the US and now the Americans are mesmerizing living in Italia. Life is funny the way it treats us.
"I hope you're not getting bored of this" Never! Keep these videos coming, they are my favorite thing to watch right now! You're making me want to buy a house in Italy haha the flea markets and antique wooden furniture has got to be the best.

@@belindahenson3726 Great idea because I’m Literally going mad by her use of literally. If I have wine maybe it won’t matter so much! 😂😂 I really am enjoying her videos despite this.
Yes on clipping, otherwise they get blown together on the line. Pinning on the leeward side. Also depends on fabric, as some fabric gives you “wings” when hung on hangers. I always drape my clothing over the top to the air pit line. It helps stop the sag and gives and even line to pin. I never need to flip them either. Just takes a half hour to one hour more to dry.
I grew up hanging laundry in my backyard (so relaxing), so am familiar with being careful regarding certain colors and fabrics in direct sunlight, along with the length of time in the sun. But your clothes, etc. will last longer drying them naturally than in a dryer.
I love everything ❤ Julie , Julie's dress , the Italian flats, Italy , the market , the light, the tour , the serving tray, the architecture, the new flat ........
Your joy and enthusiasm is so infectious! I was smiling the whole time I watched this. Showing us such beautiful parts of Italy, the food, the shops, the flea markets. And blowing up a mattress manually!! God love ya, Julie! 🌸🌸
You hung your dress across the line at the bust line. Perhaps you will have a fold line where you don’t want one. Try putting things over the line where you wouldn’t mind a fold.
Julie, FYI way back b4 cloths dryers our ancestors only had the sun. My father only wanted the he slept on sheets dried on line till he left planet! Sun dries, disinfects helps to get stains out etc etc. Ask around there your neighbors help guide the learning process but it worked for millennia.
I live in SW Florida and sheets definitely are on my line. A tradition handed down from my amazing Grandmother. She pressed them, we slept in cold rooms, with these amazing sheets and homemade quilts.

So fascinated by your laundry adventure. Hang shirts and dresses by the bottom hems so you don’t get marks from the pins on the top of the garment. Also three pins can be used for things hanging next to each other. Saves on pins. Just overlap items next to each other and pin them together. You can do that all the way down the line. Hope that makes sense. Sorry if it doesn’t. You can also hang your clothespin bag on the line and move it along as you pin stuff. You must’ve been worn out from that ordeal. 😆😆
She is so cute, describing the challenges of hanging clothes. I was born in Brazil and sadly they still do this only washers and hang on clothes line (well I didn't, we had maids not rich just everyone has one )
Hang the pillowcase the other way, so the opening is at the bottom and the air can flow in from below. Can't believe I'm saying this, but you are right there is an art to hanging clothes etc. My friend always colour coded her pegs when hanging the laundry, I don't go that far, but it looks pretty.

The light you put up over your main door is perfect. I’m so jealous of your flea markets. So many things that I wanted. Thank you for vlogging all this. I love watching!
I love these videos, Julie. So, another laundry tip for hanging, is to hang each piece end to end using leas clips or pins. Hang the pillow case, then hang another side by side and take the second clip to hang that one, too. Keep on going from there. Some may argue that the bits hanging together and sharing a pin, don’t dry properly, but I have always done it this way. Maybe because I had four children and endless laundry. No issues. Love your clothing, too. Like they’re made for you!
Hi Julie. Privileged enough to do what you do but in my mind you do it so educational and with passion, fo myself and I am sure others. We bought a house to renovate in Tuscany too. I love buying antique or secondhand items to repurpose, old italian pottery etc. We have a long journey to renovate our house. Thank-you for sharing yours. It's always nice to see different approaches to renovation.
When hanging your clothes, we always hung the second piece corner with the corner of the first to conserve space on the line to allow for a larger load. Also we had a bag that snapped onto the line to contain the clothes pins. We also had a wooden stick with a notch in one end to lift the line up when hanging heavy clothes.
Hi julie, you’re finally back to restoring your little Italian house. Love the flea market and can’t wait to see your little house done. Love to see the before & after though.
You can hang white things the correct side out, the sun will bleach them crispy white, I never use bleach for white sheets. I love your infectiousness, you're living many peoples' dream! Lovely vlog!
Oh my goodness your so cute. Thank you so much for show the leather school, it has not changed in 44 years. I always dreamt going back one day. Also loved see a bit of Florence . What a lovely journey you've taken us on 😊 It's exciting to see how you are taking antiques and repurposing them - preloved pcs which will then become part of your new home. Very happy for you 😊
Love the light fixtures outside! And the dress you wore while line drying is so lovely! Very fun watching your Italy adventures, especially after enjoying the beautiful scenes and Italian in Disney's Luca. :-)
As s southern woman your "swoosh, kick and squat" while doing laundry was impressive. lol I always use a laundry apron. It has a large pocket on the front that i keep my clothes pins.
I am so curious: As a southern woman myself, what in the world does the way she does her laundry have to do with your being southern? I love the south, and I’m proud to be a born and raised Mississippian, but this southern thing that people have is getting out of hand! We are not the be all, end all of everything.
The flea market, I'm psyched! The tile place looks superb. The choice of marble for the counter top ... gorgeous. Vintage babe, vintage! My enthusiasm is not because of the glass a red wine I had watching the video ... lol. Beautiful serving tray, beautiful. That front exterior light looks great! And thanks for the filming in Florence, lovely, lovely, lovely ... the fruit, pasta, and cheese market, to die for ... and the B&B room, wow. Oh, and two words ... mattress pump. ; ) Following this project is such a joy, thank you.
A bicycle pump works great too. Easier to find locally. :) Though these days I cheat and use a pump that uses both AC and D Batteries, That inflation sure took commitment. WTG Julie. xox
Julie, a little tip for hanging blouses and shirts. Get some plastic hangers and hang them on the hangers and then hang the hangers on the line it’s so much easier and it takes up less space. also you could hang your dress on a hanger. I always hang my clothes on the line I’ve chosen not to buy a dryer .
First, laundry doesn’t have to be in the sun. Colors will dry in the shade. The pillow cases were upside down, opening to the ground. Second, a hair dryer or vacuum with the hose in reverse will blow up the air mattress. But your determination was heart warming. Italy is lovely , but Americans are still having trouble getting over seas. Lots of restrictions and they are considering more because of the Delta variant. Watch your neighbors hang their laundry and you will learn how it’s done. Loved the quick video to see how things are progressing.
I love your videos. They’re so comforting to watch. Laundry tip - When I hang my laundry to dry (because I wear a lot of linen) I put my clothes on hangers with clips between the hangers to hold them in place. Then I put them straight back into the closet! In the winter (I’m in Canada) I hang still hang my wet clothes on hangers but I place them above a dehumidifier. This dries them very quickly. ❤
Amazing, I was thinking about you and the first video I watched of you and your arrival at the property. Here you are again. Awesome, so glad to see all this beauty from motherland!
Love your videos ! So interesting - beautiful views everywhere ! And you are a delight to listen to - love your enthusiasm and your appreciation for everything !
Wow, I am old so I thought everyone knew how to hang clothes. I never turned bed linens inside out (pillow cases) because I wanted the sun to act as a whitener.
Julie, your lamp is beautiful, and looks like it was made for your house. All of your dresses are so pretty. 👗 As regards your washing. If you plan to stay in Italy during inclement weather, I resisted buying a tumble dryer (asciugatrice) for years, on moving to Italy because they’re so expensive here. However I found slimline ones on Amazon for a decent price, (I didn’t want a larger size) and took the gamble of buying a less than perfect ‘used’ one. The only fault that I could find was that the instructions were photocopied. 💁🏻♀️ Really enjoying your renovation vlog, as I’ve done it all myself. Builders in Italy are so good on the whole. 😊 In bocca al lupo! x
Also check out on Amazon BESy Retractable Clothesline for those rainy days. Found this in a B&B bathroom over the tub area. It will support up to 20lbs of wet laundry but be sure if you try another brand that it has a steel cable. You mount the cable holder on one side wall and the little hook on the opposite sidewall. The whole thing is very small. With a stand alone tub, that configuration probably won't work but I'm sure you could figure out some other place. I loved your show on Bravo and I am so excited to follow your new journey❣️
I was as excited as you Julie at the flea markets and second hand stores full of treasures. OMG what a lot of great stuff. I would love to be there. I'm an Italian Australian, born in Lucca. Can't wait to see more of you and your adventure in Italia. Tanti baci xxx
So much fun to see your lights up and working, the flea markets, the vintage architectural warehouses plus you wore two lovely vintage dresses. I love that you immerse yourself in the local culture. The hotel room in Florence was a wonderful little room, so tastefully decorated. Great vlog! 🥰
My grandmother use to wash her vintage 1930-50’s clothes by hand. She always laid sweaters, blouses and dressing flat to dry most of the way, then on the line by the bottoms hems. She didn’t want the sun to fade the colors or the clothes to stretch too much.
You are so fun to watch! I feel like I’m living a dream through your videos! You’re too funny oh girl how I could wish I could go shopping with you and those flea markets to die for for sure! Love love love that terra-cotta tile you picked for your kitchen oh Em Gee girl! Love the marble and the antique dresser for your bathroom! Your lighting looks amazing! I thing I don’t like antique . Modern is my choice ; but the most important is to be a happy person and be who you are and because of it your house looks gorgeous . I really love it .
Your new lights look fantastic! Your new tray from the market is beautiful! Next time film it all, so many great things to see 😉. An those antique wardrobes 😍! Looking forward to seeing your place come together. 🙂
I love your beautiful dresses! Lovely antiques!!!! You're absolutely right! You could definitely spend hours looking through all of these amazing treasures! 😊!
I saw a carved cabinet... dark wood... beautiful things! I was excited for you !!! 😄 Now I have the 'fever' of let's go find SOMETHING new to me. The last video I watched, you were in England!!! I don't watch in order... so I need to check it out! Bonjourno! 🌺🌴🌺 California gramma
Never bored! It’s fascinating. Not sure of the composition of your air bed, but here in Ohio, US, I’ve found the beds to be more comfortable if I put a mattress pad ( or a light blanket) under the fitted sheet. Otherwise I sweat and chill all night since our airbeds don’t disperse the moisture from our bodies.
If you download google translate, you can speak any word or phrase into the phone and it immediately translates and speaks it out loud, so it’s easy to make yourself understood! It also works in reverse, so if you hold it towards someone speaking Italian, it’ll immediately translate it back to you! Also, if you need to read something, click the camera in the app and just point it at the text and you’ll see the print in English. It’s really handy! Good luck!
Love the armoire with the leaves! Great finds, the places and the items. Wonderful to see the light, We have one that belonged to my husbands grandmother here in France. Hoping to find a house to put it on! Excited for you 😄
Julie just a quick tip, if you have clothes that you really, really like, just dry them inside because the sun can be so strong that can even penetrate the inside fibers, and also if you have whites that you like a lot as well, dry them inside (if you have the space) because the sun can give them a yellowish undertone. Purchase a drying table (they are worth it, use them all the time) for sweaters and things you don’t want to stretch.
The Flea Market is amazing! The marble you choose is gorgeous!!!! Your outfit is beautiful!! Antiques market just down the street from your home.Awesome!!! That serving tray is stunning!! The new lights are beautiful!! Your hotel room is charming! Thanks for taking us to Florence!!!! Wonderful video!! Love from Vermont
So very uplifting that you voice euphoric Joy at the perfect installation of the welcome door lamp. Yes, to feel the happiest, at one small thing going so Right!💪🤗🌱🙏
Hi, you can use a hair dryer set on cool to blow up your mattress. Hang your colorful clothing after 4pm so the sun doesn't bleach the colors out. Use hydrogen peroxide to remove blood from clothing and if your can get Dawn dish soap use it to remove most stain out of clothing. Especially oil stains. Best wish.
When I saw this video I nearly came undone. I actually made a trip to Sarzana to try to find it but it was during Covid and very difficult to even get gas or gain entry to a hotel. Ended up staying in Lerici at the Florida where I've stayed before. Now I'm making a second stab at it in April 2023. Keeping my fingers crossed for this time! Love from California!

I’m all about the vintage !!! Love going junking for treasures … my favorite thing to do !!! I absolutely love your little house … ❤️
Love the lightness of your video . Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Good luck!
Julie-have been waiting for your next video with Italian anticipation! Grazie mille💜
Hope you enjoyed it!
Italian anticipation ⏳
Love your videos Julie. Keep them coming !
Thanks so much!
Love the antique markets

Yes, to feel the happiest, at one small thing going so Right!💪🤗🌱🙏
I am loving your little Italian abode and love your renovation project. Thank you for your amazing videos .
Love your enthusiasm 😊
😊 thank you
