Zone 1 Officers catch an Entering Automobile Suspect

On April 9, 2024, at approximately 1:48 a.m., Zone 1 Officers responded to a prowler call at 930 Sells Ave SW. A witness stated she saw 3 individuals entering a white vehicle. Upon arrival , officers observed several individuals fleeing from the area. Two of the males jumped a nearby fence, while the female suspect was still in the parking lot. After a short foot chase, the female suspect was tased and detained. Officers were able to locate the white vehicle the suspects were seen fleeing from and discovered the steering column was damaged and one of the passenger windows was shattered. Inside the vehicle, officers located a firearm on the backseat. Another firearm was also located over the fence the other suspects were seen jumping over. The K-9 Unit was notified to help canvass the area for the other outstanding suspects. While searching, officers located several screwdrivers, a ski masks, a hoodie, and gloves. The suspect was identified as Chiyanna Griffin. She was charged with Entering an Automobile and was transported to the Fulton County Jail after being medically cleared by medical personnel.
