Riverside are a progressive rock band from Warsaw, Poland. They were founded in 2001 by friends Mariusz Duda, Piotr Grudziński, Piotr Kozieradzki and Jacek Melnicki, who shared a love for progressive rock and heavy metal, although Duda, the main lyricist and composer of the band, was originally a fan of electronic, ambient, experimental music, like Radiohead, Massive Attack, Dead Can Dance, Tangerine Dream, Peter Gabriel ] and later on, prog rock like Pink Floyd, Rush, Marillion, as well as thrash metal. Riverside can be described as a blend of atmospheric rock and metal elements, resulting in a sound similar to that of Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation, and Dream Theater.

This song is something special. Saw them play it live twice and it was so immersive and powerful. If you can see Riverside live, don't hesitate, the price is not very high and the show is amazing. One of the best sounding live band I've seen thus far.

I've seen both "Riverside" and "Porcupine Tree" Live in Concert!
Actually I think Riverside is 2nd to Porcupine Tree Live in Concert!
Both are Excellent Live Concerts too Attend...
If "Steven Wilson" Tours again?
Steven and his Band just as good as either "Porcupine Tree" or "Riverside"...
Saw "Steven Wilson" live in Concert Multiple times and they are Excellent Live too!!!
For me just my own personal opinion:
1) “Porcupine Tree” live in Concert is my Favorite!
2) “Steven Wilson” is my 2nd choice live in Concert!
3) “Riverside” is my 3rd choice live in Concert!
Plenty of Posted UA-cam videos with “Porcupine Tree” or “Steven Wilson” to react too!
Just a thought…

I wouldn't put Porcupine Tree or Steven Wilson in the same league as Riverside.

Devistating that guitarist Piotr Grudziński died - he was hugely inspired by David Gilmore & a legend in his own right. I can testify his replacement Maciej Meller is also awesome as I was fortunate to see them play live. Stupendously talented band!!!

We were able to get them to come to California shortly before Piotr passed. One of the best live shows that I have EVER seen. When he died, I cried. This band is super special to me.

They’re starting their USA Tour in February, and I have tickets to the show in Atlanta. Also seen them this past May on Cruise to the Edge. Very engaging, down to earth guys. They are great live!

Excuse me, but what is the point of making a video about a video that every Riverside fan likes, and telling us that the band is great ??? And yes - the guy was named Peter, and he was na amazing person and a wonderful musician - I met him in person really !!!

Piotr Grudzinski was a truly wonderful guitarist. RIP. 41 years old was far too young.
