You have loads of really fun and creative level ideas! Keep up these awesome videos! And to answer your question, yes I do like water levels if they have good ideas. :P
I don´t really like underwater levels because of the swimming mechanics. That´s why I loved them in DKCTF. Your level ideas a so cool, I would really enjoy those types of underwater levels.
@@illusion630 I hadn't touched it for the longest time, but now that my nephew got excited about Mario Maker I started making a couple of courses. :D Now that I got Mario Wonder I haven't played it much.
I have a soft spot for them, I've made a couple. Part of the appeal is they can be nice visually as well. The challenge of making an underwater level is fun. Great video arrow
“The best water level is the one you don’t have to play”. The truest words I’ve ever heard. Great content as always, loved seeing some of the contest levels in there. :)
How to make water levels more fun: 1. Frog Suit. Make one easily available at the start. And put more on tracks throughout the level (tracks prevent the suit from jumping away.) 2. If you're not using the SMB3 style, give the player something to hold while swimming, this will make the controls better. In the SMB1 style give the player a fire flower at the start. 3. Give the player plenty of room to move. Mazes are no fun (without a frog suit). 4. Red cheep cheeps swim back and forth, and the greens swim forward only. Red cheep cheeps are good for guarding coins, etc. 5. In the night castle mode, Mario swims but all other objects use land physics. This means most enemies move at full speed, which lets you use contraptions that normally only work on land in an underwater level.
I have never found a good underwater level in a Mario game, but I haven't played that much anyway. Some underwater Mario maker levels can be really creative though.
I thought I hated underwater levels, then I was forced into making some by your contests, and the two that have come out of those contests of some of my personal favorites I've made! I still hate underwater levels though
You are great at underwater course design! Even if it’s hard, I hope you feel like you gained new skills as a creator. Thanks again for your awesome courses! :)
I also miss a lot of solutions to fix the most annoying thing about underwater levels: swimming. Like riding Yoshi when there is something in his mouth. You can also create the idea of a submarine if you use a shell to let luigi sit in and with a fireplant you can shoot at your enemies. Or with a clowncar, you can shoot 'torpedos'.
Yes I do! A lot of them are not very good, but I’m working on an underwater puzzle level that uses the night theme to simulate a deep, dark trench. Mario&Co. must avoid the evil angler Wigglers while collecting treasure. POW blocks will light the way to the sunken treasure! Thanks for the tips in this video! I’ll post the level code in the comments when it’s finished! Thanks for your wonderful B I G B R A I N
I made course in the same theme with the same idea (POW block) and then the video came out. Hmm. Nah I’m playing, that level is way better then mine. I came to get ideas for world three of my campaign, so I’m taking the seaweed as it’s the best in my opinion. Thanks!
@@Arrowstotle Yeah, if used well it can make a really fun and creative level. Unfortunately when it's not used well it makes the level really bad. High Risk High Reward
Hey Arrowstotle! I found a rather interesting glitch in SMM1 that triggers the death animation of Mario with a buzzy beetle shelmet. So do you want to check it out? I really love your vids though.
I will explain it anyway.First you have to place two one-ways facing to the right on top of each other, then place two one-ways facing to the left on top of each other, next to the one-ways facing to the right with a one block gap, then stack three red Bill Blasters and insert buzzy beetle shelmes in them, and then wait for the shells from the blasters to trap themselves between one ways, and then run into the one-ways (I am not sure about that last part but if it wasn't correct try something else)

Underwater Courses are very unique and can be the root of great (but usually hard to do and hard to think of) Courses! So, yes. I like them!
Yes,only if they're good
I usually avoid the underwater theme in course maker. Ground, Snow, Desert and Ghost House are the ones I generally use
Mostly no
It depends.
You have loads of really fun and creative level ideas! Keep up these awesome videos!
And to answer your question, yes I do like water levels if they have good ideas. :P
Thank you for the kind words! I like them too, but great ones are really rare!
I just wanted to say thx for all ur videos on super mario maker 2 ur a source of inspiration for my levels and I love ur content
That spiny shell idea was fantastic. Looked really cool, what a cool concept.
I love water/underwater worlds usually because of visuals but they have a lot of redeeming qualities to me especially in 3d Mario games
I don´t really like underwater levels because of the swimming mechanics. That´s why I loved them in DKCTF. Your level ideas a so cool, I would really enjoy those types of underwater levels.
I hope they inspire you to make some awesome courses!
Arrowstotle I love your videos
No
Try using dry bones shell in them (or frog suit in Mario 3)
That game is the best I want to play it again on the switch!
The Soggy Sun was my favorite! Using the Angry Sun to melt ice is an awesome interaction. Foe Fury and Spiny Swim were amazing as well.
Do u still play this game? It’s getting really dead but I still make levels from time to time. U?

No, sorry, but I don't like most of the underwaterlevels. But your levels are good. I LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S!!
They aren’t his levels because if he dies than it shows x’s
Same

Your ideas are literatly countless

Frog suit: allow to introduce my self
I was JUST looking for this! Thank you, Arrow!!
You’re welcome! Did the ideas inspire you?
@@Arrowstotle Oh, they sure did. I'm looking to make a course based on one of those, so once I get Nintendo Switch Online you can stay tuned ;)
I used to be livid whenever I got a water course but your video has completely changed my perspective. Thank you!
1:40 I never saw the underwater trees before, they look so weird
They are pretty weird
yeah!

Every great creator needs to challenge themselves with a water level! Thanks for watching :)
Yes! That's how I feel too.
Look like you really *dived* in to make this video!
**wheeze**
You make the best ideas for underwater levels and I like water levels🌊
I really love your great work, keep up your great work and yes i like underwater levels
Edit: i like the seaweed concept
Thank you! Appreciate your time
Also you made the “evil course theme” good, that’s awesome!
Hopefully more people will give underwater a try!
I really was bad at making underwater levels; thank you
Which idea inspired you the most? Thanks for watching!
DEFINETELY the Spiny Swim one. You are a genius
@@brickstop3207 These are other peoples levels that he's talking about.
Finally, I can make good underwater levels
Looking forward to seeing them! Thanks for taking the time to watch :)

For the spiny one (#2), can’t you use hard blocks instead of munchers?
@@aceventura1476 Yea I Think They Work Too
And use dry bones shells or frog suit in Mario 3 for easy swimming.

I'm glad you like them! What video would you like to see next?

The Pokey seaweed idea was great, inspired me for a level in my Super World

I was trying to make a chase scene underwater. And when I saw the spiny idea I just had to sub you
I love this channel keep up the great work 👍
Wigglers in dark underwater levels are also fun. You can put them on tracks behind Luigi. They light his way
Not the tips we deserved, but the tips we needed to finally make GOOD underwater levels
I hope it inspires you to make some!
How do you come up with these ideas?
The fact that you can place the sun in an underwater level is very weird but innovative
Some water levels are good I subbed good vid
Yay my idea was in a video!!!!!🤩 thanks
No, thank YOU for the awesome course :)
The real reason why Wigglers were chasing Luigi was because he was the same color as a delicious leaf. Poor Luigi :(
I love the underwater level theme
It’s fun when the levels are made well!
Alternative Title: 9 minutes and 16 seconds of Luigi getting tortured
Yes because people can people can become very creative with it
Wow, the spiny level was amazing!

The spiky swim is like the fuzzy time mine level in 3D world!
I love underwater levels! But not as much as I love this channel! Keep it up!
Thank you! I will do my best
The spiny idea reminded me about the fuzzy time mine in super Mario 3D world

Hey I had an idea, sense Urchins are in the game (except in SMW where they are the Spike Traps) we could use the Spinys as the Urchins
number 3 is like an underwater fuzzy swarm
water levels are so unlike any other level
Totally agree! Hardest to create good ones too

I really like these videos 😁
yes😁 I love water levels somtimes
I made a traditional underwater night level where you swim by a sunken ship wreck!
Some cool ideas here, I liked #8, not too much of a fan of #5 though, the level felt too tight and random for me.
I don't care about water levels, but ask Desbug this and he'll give you a big fat no
I actually think that underwater levels are really fun, but not many good ones exist sadly
I agree! We need to do our part to take the trash out of the ocean :)
I totally agree.
Pls make a "underground ideas" video

I only like underwater levels that are ghost-themed.
