    HOW I BUY CHEAP HOUSES - www.thehomestea...
In this video, I start bringing the building to CLOSE to it's full length with a 24 foot 2 bay/lofted section. It will be constructed similar to the far end of the building but twice as long. Next I'll be framing the walls and roof.

I have been watching your channel since the 12k house project. I finally bought my first project house on 5-10-23. It was a 10K purchase. It is nearly a complete teardown. Cat urine and termites required me to rip out all the walls, ceilings, flooring and even some of the floor joists. I have been doing everything myself. I work 49 hours a week. The rest of my time I am working on this home. So far, i have replaced floor joists, leveled and replaced rotted support beams, all new subfloor, removed load bearing walls and created beams to allow me to vault the ceiling. leveled the concrete basement floor. relocated the staircase. designed the new floor plan and am about to remove the shingled siding and plank sheathing to install new sheathing that will insulate better and keep out bugs. i will then install polystyrene to give a thermal break, relocate the electrical panel to the basement. all new plumbing, siding, electrical, and framing. I removed all the gas appliances and service and it will be sealed as tight as a drum. It is a huge project for just me, But i am having fun and found a great respect for what you are doing. I thank you for taking the time to record what you do. I try to photograph along the way. But if i had to record everything, it would take me twice as long.

Those 12" wide subfloor boards are a sight to see!
That's what happens when you have your own sawmill!
Gonna be a cool structure. Looking for ward to how you'll use the new space!

This house is super exciting to me. One of the more odd projects on the channel. Looks like it's gonna be super unique. Will that be a large open space in the center? Maybe put some giant (slide open) windows to take in the view?

There's always flush-mount, in-ground car lifts if you're wanting to drive over it with the sawmill trailer.

So far my costs have been the treated posts, nails, screws, bolts and roofing paper and diesel fuel. I milled all the lumber from trees i cut down and the roofing metal was second hand at no cost to me. I’m still under $2,000 as it stands but will probably go over that but not that much. I’m sure over time i’ll spend additional money on it but nothing compared to if i hired it all out and paid retail for the materials.

Maybe put the car lift adjacent to the new extension and then have the roof have a pitch change to cover both sections? Would you need steel posts to support the lift as well?
