Give your daughter the gift of showing her how to make something with you. Those lessons stay with you for a life time. Glad you are back with more videos.
I paled around with my Dad as he did projects around the house. I have a photo of me helping him hold a small screen. I must have been less than 3 years old and taking the responsibility very seriously. I grew up able to do repairs, and if we hire someone, be able to know if they do the right job. I can also cook a darn good meal for my family. Balance.
Don't apologize for all the talking, sometimes it's my favorite part of the video. I watch your videos because I like to hear your perspective, thought process on the work and just the way you navigate life. I appreciate your content and love subscribing to content where the creator is trying to put our something meaningful instead of just any old garbage to get clicks and money. I know it's not as lucrative, but I appreciate it.
Some years ago I helped a guy clean up a mess after he'd been doing something with wood. Many small pieces of wood, 1x,2x,4x scraps, I threw them in a bucket. My son was there, he was maybe 6 or 7, he grabbed that bucket of wood blocks and spent the rest of the day building things. That bucket of blocks is still at my mom's house, most recently used by my sister's grand kids.
That was sweet you allowed a glimpse into your family life. The door is beautiful. I’m glad you moved into your family’s property you had to buy back. As soon as you bought it and made the first video about it I think I figured then you would move your family into it. The car port makes a nice workshop❤
Father of two young ones myself, I honestly appreciate where you talk about things that you are thinking about or believe - just as much as i enjoy seeing progress on your projects. Its refreshing. Looking forward to more videos of yours in the future.
I was thinking it was sure to be getting close for another video! Howdy! LOVE the door! Mostly, thanks for sharing your approach to life. I appreciate how you contemplate things, not just accepting them. It shows great maturity and insight.
Appreciate all you do man. Thanks for standing up as a Christian father and looking out for your kids and protecting them from all the trash out there. I have a son the same age and he's exactly the same lol. Loves his tools and "working" on stuff in the same way. Keep up the beautiful work!
I thought before you said it, that you were an artist! Keep talking, I like to hear you talk. I especially liked hearing you talk about the children. That door is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been watching you a long time and you’re a cool person. Jean from Arizona 73 years old🌴🌻🦎🌵🐍🏜️🌞🦂
You never talk too much. So glad that you have posted again but, you are correct a more steady posting would be great but, hey you gotta do waht you gotta do. We will be here ready to watch what ever you decide to do.
We only had daughters and my youngest followed her Dad everywhere "helping". She had her own tool pouch and hammer. Her Dad was an electrician and in her adult life she has always replaced her outlets and light fixtures in every house she's lived. When she was married and living in Colorado she took her unfinished basement and turned it into a family room. Now in Northern Wisconsin she remodeled a lake cabin she bought, added a new kitchen, replaced all the floors. When I was ill with cancer she visited and helped her Dad install a handicapped bathroom in only one week. She is super handy but listening to you got me wondering if she would have turned out like this if we had sons. Her sister did all the girly stuff with me.
Okay…… gotta say that I had voted for no window and a clear finish on that beautiful door. I should not have doubted you….. it is STUNNING!!!!! Love it!
Being a responsible father changes everything. Now that I’m a grandfather of 10 grandchildren and two daughters-in-law I’m so glad that my wife and I always took the time to teach our sons honesty, respect, and fortitude. Great video my friend.
I have enjoyed watching you build this barn every step of the way! The design is amazing, pure logos. Had a good laugh when you started talking at 11 min in and looked to see the video was 35 min long haha. Always enjoy the talking as well, glad to hear you and your family are doing good. As a single guy you are very inspirational to the type of lifestyle and family I would love to have someday. Thanks for all you do, can't wait to see more!
Looks GREAT! I love paint. I love that green paint and the Craftsmanny style of the door. It's artsy and it's got a nostalgic feel. I love your free expression.
I love your talks at the end, its really why I still watch. I'm a similar age, at a similar stage and income level, in a similar part of the country, and have a dad and grandfather who taught me to use all of the tools you use in these videos. I have a feeling that when it comes to politics, religion, and parenting... we really wouldn't hold many of the same opinions. But you're so level headed and I can tell that ultimately, we would both know we're on the same team instantly if we had a conversation. While so many people with different opinions have caused me to want to avoid them at all costs, you're the kind of person I want to listen to and understand, to improve my own thinking. Thanks for putting all of that on UA-cam, I think that really matters.
I've followed you for ages and seen most of your videos! you are a great source of inspiration for me :) and I've now started my own channel where I post my journey of home renovation! Thank you so much for it all!
My idea for a sliding door has been to add an L-channel to the trailing edge, that tucks into a mating L-slot in the door frame so that when the door is closed, the door has a figure-S engagement so it can't be swung out and adds more weather resistance. Add some weatherstripping and it gets very tight indeed. The leading edge simply tucks into a pocket so that when closed, the entire door is captured around all its edges.
I really enjoy your videos. I'd join patreon if I had the extra. I'll keep watching whatever you have time to post. Totally understand the way life changes when you have kids.
I admire your sharing of your thoughts of the way things are today. So different and unsafe… I really wish kids could watch Saturday morning tv again over a bowl of Captain Crunch with programming being so kid friendly but by standards that is baby boomers grew up watching. TU!
Hey man, we love the talking! It's nice to hear some of your thoughts on life and society. We see you on your property's with your tools and equipment, hoping to one day have all that stuff myself, hehe. I don't always agree with you, but that's OK. You always made sense to me. Like the last video when you were bashing smart phones! That really got me thinking. I've been trying to leave my phone in the living room or in the car when I'm doing stuff just to get away from it a bit. That was some solid advice! Looking in from the outside, you really seem to be "living the dream" haha. Thank's for the video. Looking forward to the next one!
Great door, very smooth 😊 I’m nosey and want to know what your church is doing to make you want to pull away 😊 btw I think you should design a logo for “homemade home” and put that on the back of the door 😊
Looks like you built your kids a play house and a slide. Windows just in time for winter. The door looks great! I hear you on what's going on in the world. Choose wisely.
I’m in love with the door and the color, and I agree with you about tv, social media. UA-cam they want kids to watch what I call screamer tube. Not sure why UA-cam Taylors to Roblox videos to kids and screaming. I have my moms old sewing machine, and starting sewing again. I told my mom I wanted to line the skirt. She said to get a slip. I said kids these days don’t even know what that is. Women wear shorts with their bum hanging out. I’m a woman, and work on my house, and have learned a lot. I have been here for years. Your videos inspire me so much. Whenever you post, I’ll be here. I really enjoy what you do. I’d love to see more of your artist work. Knives, wood carving, even if you draw or paint something. Whenever I get more money. I’d love to pay patron for you. Out of anyone I follow on UA-cam. I’d follow your and help out. You’re a genuine man. Anyways. Take care, and thank you so much and love the talking you do at the end of the videos. Appreciate you.
I've been with your channel for a long time, since before the block of concrete in the $9,ooo house, I'm here for the long haul. I agree the prices went up because supplies were sparse, BUT companies have no incentive to lower them again. We can only hope that someone will hold them down long enough to stop the landslide of money flowing out of our pockets while the rich get richer faster that the poor man can fund.
Give your daughter the gift of showing her how to make something with you. Those lessons stay with you for a life time. Glad you are back with more videos.
Agree, wish I would have learned from my dad, especially maintaining and basic tool skills
I paled around with my Dad as he did projects around the house. I have a photo of me helping him hold a small screen. Love the door and I'm 100% on board with your view on parenthood. Life happens, and your true followers will always be here.
You're not going to lose us. I'm always thankful when you drop a video.
The door is stunning!!

Agreed! Was just about to say that!

I love your old fashioned view points and approach while raising children. The world needs more dads like you.
Isn’t it sad it’s now considered “old fashion” new fashion sucks lol
So nice to see a glimpse of your precious family! Gorgeous Clydesdale stable door😮
Door looks great. Very classic. Love the colour
Absolutely beautiful door. Didn’t realise it was so substantial until you put it up.
It was a monster to handle
I was thinking it was sure to be getting close for another video! Howdy! LOVE the door! Mostly, thanks for sharing your approach to life. I appreciate how you contemplate things, not just accepting them. It shows great maturity and insight.
Fine father, fine craftsman!

Always entertaining watching a craftsman at work 👍😊

i have a feeling i’m gonna get into a posting streak.
Your explanation on why you painted the door makes perfect sense. And that green fits the rustic theme of old times warehouse building.
I love to hear the talking, along with everything else! ❤ Thankyou! XXX
respect your courage as a father of young-uns in this wicked world. stay strong and blessings to ya.

Excellent craftsmanship on the sliding door.
Great video!!! Love everything about the door! Peace, love and blessings to you and yours!
You could probably do one of those portable-power-things ads for the man cave.
It's kind of relevant and I don't think anyone would complain.
U making a door and trimming windows brings me back to ur tiny house videos back when I started watching ur work
A beautiful memory I have is my father showing me how to fix things. ❤
Great color!
That door is classic. Gorgeous color
thank you

I hope this becomes the new Winchester house as you just keep adding more onto it, year after year.
Nice door! Great craftsmanship! Well done. 😁👍🏼

The door and surround is all about contrast. Priorities change when (you're lucky to have) children come along...... you're on the right track.
I admire your desire to protect your children and yourself from the garbage out there and everywhere. I try to do the same.
I love our little chats at the end of the video! It is interesting to hear where your head is.
What a beautiful door. I watched that entire process!!!
Great! The door is my favorite color. The door is perfect. White on the inside is good. Really like the way it's coming together.
Love the green door! We enjoy your videos.

Back again, yay
Door is great craftsmanship and the color is perfect shade of green.
Thank you
Wow, the door is BEAUTIFUL!
The door looks fantastic. Great progress!
Finally my news feed is coming back to reality. Love your videos.
I have no idea how some creators manage to publish weekly on YT. Thank for sharing your work!
we missed you!!!
The door was cool. I'm rewatching the sit down a second time. Kudos.

Beautiful door
Idea for your daughter, a treasure box. Happy Birthday young lady. ❤🎂
I have a couple of pieces my Dad made and treasure them.
Always enjoy your videos, thank you for doing it. I know it must be hard to juggle all your projects and keep a life going.
I knew there was a reason I liked you brother. Keep it up.

The door is amazing - especially the colour and the hardware!
Beautiful custom door! Gorgeous work, can't wait for the rest.
Great door dude, color is the icing.
Great content on every level from the building, creating, the monologue at the end. Keep it up!
Thank you
Forest Green is a wonderful colour that fits well with the rest.

The door is beautiful!

(From a watch thru the end viewer)
I can't wait to see what artwork you apply to the inside of the door.
Good to see you back.
Beautiful color and door
I admire your sharing of your thoughts of the way things are today. So different and unsafe… I really wish kids could watch Saturday morning tv again over a bowl of Captain Crunch with programming being so kid friendly but by standards that is baby boomers grew up watching. TU!
Ha, I bought a looney tunes dvd and let them watch it saturday mornings. They enjoy the original Buggs Bunny
@@homemadehome5575 excellent. i Forgot that that is an option. Well I’ll be ready when my first grandchild comes
Man, what a beautiful door. Very impressive. It’s a shame it’s out in a field where hardly anyone will get to see it!
There’s all kinds of beautiful artwork, craft, architecture, etc that is never seen. There’s many skilled people making stuff free will ever see.

Story around the number 2 being written on your left hand? Haha
Let's all chip in and get this guy a sturdier table.
