This is brilliant! At 70, I enjoy jumping on and off the tractor less each day. I may jump into this project myself when my own voice-activated SSQA remote no longer works! (He's 8 now, and in a few years, I may become the remote while he is in the seat!)
Wow, GREAT videos! You are one of the best on youtube without a doubt. THANK YOU so much for sharing your DIY SSQA MOD, this is EXCELLENT! My problem with it is, you cost me money every time i watch one of your videos, lol. 🤔😊👍
I just completed this on my Kubota MX5200. Pretty much everything is just as he described on his videos. I would make sure that you check your set up just to make sure that all the numbers are correct. On mine I had to make the small tube an extra 3/8" longer. The only thing I can think I'm going to change is using the big brother to the linear actuator from Amazon being the 8 Inch 8" Stroke Linear Actuator 12V Heavy Duty 3000N/660lbs IP65 Waterproof Electric Actuator 0.2"/s with Mounting Brackets for $60.99. For an extra $18 you get three times the strength. Does it need it probably not. The one he recommends does work as advertised but I'm that guy who watched to much Tim Allen in Home Improvement and like more power. Total time for the build to include the metal work taking my time was a little over ten hours. A good portion of that was making sure all of the wiring was routed near all of the factory wiring away from heat sources. I also made all of the connectors were either waterproof or as close to it as possible. As to cost I have right at $100 with everything from the actuator to the wiring, connectors, wire shielding/loom and all the other parts like the metal for the tabs and pipe. For the ease of use and time saving well worth the expense and time. A couple of recommendations I can make in its use is when you use it is to try and have the bucket/forks/whatever tilted slightly curled up to take the weight off of the pins. It seemed to make it easier to work. The other is like on mine when I had the factory bucket on it, I found the sweet spot where the locking pins go into their recess easily (if you've used a SSQA a bit you know that if it's off just a little one of the pins won't go in easily) I then painted a half inch reference line from the SSQA to the bucket so while sitting on the seat I can see it. I then put the forks on the SSQA and once it was in that sweet spot, I added the line from the SSQA now to the forks. If/when I have anything else to go on there, I will just add the line to the new equipment. Other than those little issues it works great, and I am glad I did this project. At sixty getting on and off the tractor a pain.
Outstanding solution very detailed instructions, Martin. I currently own four front implements changing them often. But, my near 75 YO knees aren't as "playful" as they use to be. This is now on my ToDo List! Thanks!
Thank you, Dwayne! With four FEL implements, you need this more than I do! I just have the bucket and forks now, but I do see the potential for getting more. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!
Thank you Ed! Actually, my wife suggested the braided fuel line. I was explaining what I was looking for and she happened to have her iPad in her lap and did a quick search on Amazon then showed me the fuel line and asked if that would work. Turns out it was the perfect combination of protection and flexibility I was looking for. Yep, she’s a keeper!
Awesome project! I get tired of climbing on and of the tractor changing attachments. This is must do project! Thank you sir for sharing all the information on this power lever control. I will be smiling every time I flip the switch! 😊
Great video! I ordered the actuator and rocker switch! Worth a try imo ….Even tho the quick attach system makes swapping equipment easy I still hate getting up and down from the tractor multiple times in the process… I keep my tractor in a garage also …out of the weather!
Good video on a great job, Mr Martin. I just completed a similar modification on my forklift so I can ride in the manlift for various tasks. Keep up the good work
Totally agree, overkill is better than underkill! If u have the opportunity, over engineer now rather than repair later! Cheers from Nova Scotia :) Mark
This was a great project. I will probably do the same for my 525 FEL. Have you ever considered adapting a hydraulic cylinder to change the spacing on the front forks without having to leave the operators seat? The front hydraulic capability is easily attached the bucket control via a bolt on hydraulic block and is not expensive to add to the tractor. What do you think? I enjoy your projects, I have watched many of them. I like the way you explain how you do things "my way"....
Thanks, Craig! No, I don’t have to move the fork spacing often enough to justify such a project. I simply raise the FEL up and tilt the forks down a bit and positioning the forks is easy. So glad you enjoy my videos! Thanks for watching!
My only suggestion is to use dielectric grease to all the connections even though you used the waterproof connectors. Just gives an added measure of corrosion protection.
Very, very cool Martin, and a professional, clean install as usual. You should patent this before someone else takes your idea and makes a mint and you get nothing. (Just a suggestion, lol.) One of your best videos yet and no doubt a lot of your viewers will be adding this useful and convenient upgrade to their machines. Thanks for the great content, have a blessed day! 👍😊
That is a very cool project Martin. Well done. I will add that one to my list. Currently I only have a bucket and have never removed it. I have my eye on a pallet fork in the future however. Great video as always!
How's she goin'? This is a 'sweet' mod for sure. Being able to change implements without having to dismount is a game changer. Nice mod Martin. Nice install too. Take care!!!
What a great idea. I will definitely make this a reality on my new Bad Boy 4025 Tractor...along with several other great ideas you have on your channel. Thanks for taking such care to produce quality DIY videos. Always enjoy watching and learning.
I've been following this project closely. You definitely have inspired me to install an automatic release for my quick attach. I however have a set of third-function hydraulic ports on my loader with operating switches on my control stick. Going to try a hydraulic cylinder instead of the linear actuator. Wish me luck.
You may want to consider sticking with electric with a switch on the dashboard because it seems it would be too easy to accidentally push one of the loader stick buttons and release the SSQA. Just a thought. Good luck and thanks for watching!
It sure is, Gary. It’s a Starret and I highly recommend it, but it’s not cheap. I got mine for about $35 a couple of years ago. Last I checked, they’re $43 now.
When we got our Grand L a few months ago we just had the dealer add the hydraulic power ssqa. On our switch, it has to be held down in order to cycle through. It is actually two switches that have be pressed while it works. That's the only thing that don't like about it. However, it sure is nice not to have to get off the tractor and mess with the handles.
@@DIYMyWay It is is pricey but it was a family purchase. A lot of money down and we were one the last customers at t h e dealer to get approved for true 0 percent financing for 84 months for the remainder what we financed.

Very well put together Martin😁👍You’re video’s are great I always learn something watching you work. I think this project is one of the most convenient mod of all time!!! Thanks for the video. 😁👍🚜💨🍳
It’ still working perfectly. Bear in mind I don’t use it everyday. Two or three times a month AND my tractor is stored in my shop. I used it three days ago to switch to pallet forks. If you plan to use it a lot more or you keep your tractor outside, you’ll need to spend more that $42 to get a tougher actuator. Thanks for watching!
@@DIYMyWay I just got my Kioti CK2610 and the loader has a pin in the place where you have a bolt. I wish I could post a picture of it and get your thoughts.
Sweet mod Martin. Thank you for all the documentation and explanations. Will get ready for a springtime run at this myself. As a retired electrician I'd be interested to know if that EMT can stand up to time, or if IMC might be a better choice. Cheers.
Thanks Paul! I don’t think the EMT is under much stress or strain and it stays out of the weather so I think it will hold up. Time will tell. Thanks for watching!
Yes it is and it gets used pretty often. I’m sure keeping my tractor in and insulated humidity controlled shop helps its life expectancy. Thanks for watching!
Hi Brandon! It’s still working perfectly and I have not made any changes to it. It’s been SO convenient to be able to stay on the tractor to switch between bucket and forks. Thanks for watching!
Well I have an update. I got mine working on my bobcat t450 took me a few hours today.... I ended up buying a 400 lb thrust unit on Amazon for $156.. take 6 seconds to open and 6 seconds to close...

Maybe I missed it. But was there a reason you used the metal plate instead of connecting the conduit directly to the arms?
