70's & 80's R&B can't be beat. Awesome to see someone younger appreciate it
That's what I'm saying they hear it
@@Bigron123exactly. It's undeniable when people of ALL ages and cultures can hear it
Anything produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis is gonna be a hit. This is a fav for me.
true dat
U ain’t neva lied 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
THE SOS BAND GOT SOME OF THE MOST TIMELESS HITS AND SONGS MARY DAVIS THE LEAD SINGER IS THE TRUTH THEY ARE THE BEST IN MY EYES MANY RAPPERS AND MUSICIANS IN GENERAL HAVE SAMPLED AND USED FROM THE SOS TO THIS DAY MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT YOUNGSTA FOR HAVING A GOOD EAR AND RESPECTING ALL GENRES OF MUSIC GOD BLESS
Tupac and Scarface sampled it for "Smile"
S.O.S. Band was the 1st group M.P.L.S. own Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis wrote & produced for. When Prince found out what they were doing he fired them from the group The Time.
Best Producers of the 80's - Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Production ... Love ... Weekend Girl * The Finest * Take Your Time (Do It Right) & No One Gone Love You ...
As much as I agree with you about being the best producers of the 80’s, “Take Your Time” was not of their creation or production.
The SOS Band letters means Sounds of Success
U made that up....but nice and yes.
@@michaelasay6140 No he didn't make it up.
Listen for that Organ in the background. The bass guitar mimics a heartbeat. Love this jam!
It has similar musical elements as The Isley Brothers “Between The Sheets” .
Fun fact: Aaliyah’s “At Your Best (You Are Love) is a direct remake of an Isley Brothers song.
Ditto
It has more similarities to the Isley Brothers's "Footsteps in the Dark" and the bridge from Narada Michael Warden's "I should've loved ya"
@@xhy20x I’m here for this.
Yes youngblood, you're getting a great "education" listening to the S.O.S Band. My favorite band, saw them in concert in '95, will never get old, unlike me.
Love this song. One of my favorites.
Mary Davis lead singer is one of my all time favorite voices in music
The SOS band is in my opinion, one of the top 10 bands, of all time..
R @ B
Aliyah’s At Your Best is an Isley Brothers song she remade- check it out!
👍🏾💯
When it comes to reaction videos, your covering the most neglected genre and sound of music. Keep it up man. Definitely subscribed.
Tupac and Scarface smile for me
Lovin SOS! Also love your Patrice Rushen intro of Where There is Love at the start
If I still care?
Do you really care?
Listen to my heartbeat...BOOM!!!
For you baby, WHOOO!!!
It dont get harder than that!!!
This is black music.....the real.... they also got a hot one called... Take your time... "baby you could do it take your time do it right.".. Those are the lyrics
This was the first R&B ballad that used the 808 and the first record to use the 808 sonic boom!
This joint from the SOS Band is pure melted butta, extra chilly most!! The SOS Band is an extra crispy band with hit songs for days. Weekend Girl is a serious joint that you should check out next from their classic musical catalogue.
What's funny, you got a Pac shirt on, and I always felt they sampled the melody from this chorus for the chorus in "Smile".
boy noooooo you didnt LOL what you know about SOS band im super impressed WOW
Fall of 1983...Classic!
Man I really dig Mary’s voice for some reason. I guess it worked so good with the songs & tracks they came up with. They had they’re own thing.
Monica covered it on her first album
Yes! He needs to react to that one
1 of best song of all time top 5
Them nunchucks or castanedas was part of their signature sound.
SOS stands for Sounds of Success. I had their albums way back. We'd go crazy in the clubs when they played their songs
Oooooooh Myyyyyyyy Gooooooooodnesssssss❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤You Just Made My ENTIRE DAY young brotha. Thank You🙏🙌
Welcome!
Now this is a Jam!!!💕🎤🎼💯👍🏼
I'm 50 years old and as a young boy my uncles hip me to R&B. But I see you enjoying good music. 👍
The whole song at your best lyric wise was a remake first done by the Isley Brothers.
Mariah Carey sampled this JD and Da Brat - Always be my baby remix
Yep.
This generation of music is sampled so much you wouldn’t even catch it the majority of the time with modern music. The GOLDEN AGE OF MUSIC. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite songs from this band, the production is so smooth and perfect in every way. And the singing, damn. And yea, this has been sampled in some good rap songs in the 90's too.
Rakim sampled this song for his joint "New York to Cali" in '95
The true definition of chilled!
You was groovin that classic! Keep up the good work young fella.
My favorite “BAND” of all time, grew up on them in the 80’s.
Man we jam this in the car every corner started dancing
This is my favorite S.O.S. song
Also The SOS Band doing "Take Your Time" and "No One's Gonna Love You" are great. Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam did this as well as most of Janet Jackson's stuff. Also they produced "Human" by The Human League which is also really good and has that classic Terry and Jimmy house sound.
and Weekend Girl
I didn't know that about the Human League. I love that song!
Banger Alert. Cookout essential.
This song gives me serious feels!
❤❤❤❤
My #1 SOS Band Jam.
Since you love this Just Jammin, then you'll love "Making Love in the Rain" by Herb Alpert 1987- featuring Lisa Keith on lead vocals and Janet Jackson on backgrnd vocals, and
"Secret Garden" by Quincy Jones, featuring Barry White & James Ingraham 1989. These blew my mind whn I first heard them back in the day.

Take Your Time (Do it Right) is the song you need to react to from this group

You better show these youngins’ what’s up...lol!! New subscriber!
Nice young man. This old school music will definitely have you appreciating love differently than some of today’s music. Try The Yarbrough People - ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ Rene & Angela ‘You Don’t Have to Cry’... ‘Your Smile’...
Midnight Starr and oh yeah Stevie Wonder

Also I've done some Midnight Star and Stevie so you can search for them if you want.
Man…Everything about this song sounds and feels good…
Jam and Lewis just know how to mix beats to produce a great melody. Sos band is one of my all time fav bands from the 80s.
Just be good to me a daily for me... that intro is just slammin😱💋
The music video is a lucid dream!!!!
Check out the finest!! SOS Band!!
Take Your Time - SOS
"Monica" covered this one
SOS Band music still has 🔥🔥🔥…..
SOS Band great music!
Yup!
Best beat ever !
True indeed!
Aaliyah's At Your Best did a rendition of this song using the singing part of it. She used the same melody for At Your Best. So it's more like a cover of the song.
Aaliyah remade the Isley Brothers classic, At Your Best. If you haven't checked out the Isley Brothers, please do! Also make sure you work your way through all of the Funk bands that came out of Ohio particularly Dayton. Slave, Zapp featuring Roger Troutman, Faz-O, Lakeside, The Ohio Players and Heatwave. You will not be disappointed.
SOS Band are GREAT!!
Such a beautiful song
Mariah sampled this on Always Be My Baby remix too.
Oh yeah let there be Jam & Lewis.
Check out the Clark Kent remix of Rakims New York To Cali from 95' - do a video. Dope tune and sample from this
No one's gonna love you SOSband another hot one
YAY! One of my absolute favorite groups!
wow...caught me off guard with the 80s gems.....glad i subbed
SOS band one of the most under rated R&B bands in history
Tune.
❤️❤️❤️
You're talking about a song by The Isley Brothers Aaliyah did a remake of. 🙂
Prince letting go of Jimmy and Terry was the best musical decision since Brian Johnson joined AC/ DC.😂
The ll cool j sample is dope as fuck
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
My favorite by them. I wished you would have reacted to the music video. Great reaction 🙂👍
A lot of folks sample this
If you haven't heard, 'No One"s Gonna Love You' by The SOS Band, please check it out. 🙂
I did that classic as well.
If you haven’t listened to it yet, please do a reaction to the song called just the way you like it by the SOS band
You’re right Aaliyah did cover at your best you’re love, Isley’s Brothers
Kirk Franklin sampled a part of this on his song called smile as well. Almost all of Aaliyah's early songs had the same flow that was used in this song.
Check out SOS Bands Weekend Girl
Alyea sampled at your best, from the Isley brothers
Do SOS Band's The Finest.

If you haven't, you have to do Weekend Girl by SOS Band.
Aaliyah sampled Isley Brothers for At Your Best✊️
Hi, Guy! Try "This is for the Cool" by Baby Face, if you haven't already! God Bless!
You should check out some of their more up tempo songs they were as funky as their slow jams are smooth
At your best you are love is a Isley Brothers cover. You should react to the Brothers version.
