"Quality of sound has no time stamp" I could not have said it better. I was a child listening to great music. This tune would be my end of the day song in my headsets. Simply beautiful.
I opened for Kool and the gang in I believe 1977 in Norfolk Va
This was the second song they played. It was surreal!! I was in a trance! Unbelievable!
We were blown away growing up and listening to all the great groups and singers back in the late '60s, 70's, '80s, 90's. We were so blessed and partied all the time and just had fun.
I'll never forget hearing this song live at an outdoors summer concert. It was like being in heaven.
Absolutely one of the most UNDERRATED songs EVER. Talk about setting a mood!!
Will Smith sampled this and made a hit called "Summertime." Most of these rappers wouldn't' have a career if they didn't sample from 70s and 80s artists.
I don't think this song had anything at all to do with Will Smiths summertime song besides the word summer.
Hiphop is what made me dig deep into soul , jazz and music from the past in general
One of the best instrumental songs of all time! Kool and the Gang were trend setters in a time were new music was coming out weekly. They started out playing jazz and then transitioned over to a more funky sound. This song is a must play at their concerts. This made me pick up the bass guitar. Kool’s instrument of choice.
Just jamming.... keep this jam on repeat wow! the rhythmic guitar play along with those heavenly Cloud9 synthesizer keys, are just out of this world! what a great jazz fusion classic that never gets old or tired of hearing from 1974 this is 2021 and is still sounds just as fresh today!
One of the most revered instrumentals ever.
I LOVE this beautiful smooth jazz tune. It's definitely my #1 by Kool & the Gang. It was used in the first "Rocky" movie, when Rocky was making his move with Adrian 😉❤💖❤
This tune is literally timeless. If you heard it in a 2010s chillout downtempo club you'd think it was fresh.
Love the jazzy side of Kool & The Gang as well as that oh so funky side.
Wow this song bought back some memories. I haven’t hear it since the 70’s. I forgotten this song by Kool and the gang. It was very popular and play often on the radio. Amazing instrumental song! Thank you for sharing!👏🏼👍🏼
that back and forth in each headphone you here is called Panning its a mixing technique that engineers and producers used when mixing songs
one of my favourite instrumentals bro
The production is impeccable on this one!!!!!🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
It is the #1 song of all time for me 🙌
And it’s insane to realize, that people on the other side of the planet feel the same way 😌
soul/classic masterpiece. "no time stamp" is right. Great music is timeless. My favorite Kool and the Gang record. (Originally Kool and the Jazz Gang). Robert "Koo" Bell on bass and his brother Robert Bell on keyboards.
Classic instrumental! There's also a live version of this track with DOPE horns at the beginning...react to that as well.
That bassline tho
I can remember my dad playing this song. I miss u dad. I know u r up in Heaven with the members of Kool & the Gang who have passed away.
Song was in Rocky when he was getting up to train before he drank the eggs. Take that back song was played when feeding his turtles
Don't forget...Lebron James' very first Nike commercial (Training in a Pool). The coolest sneaker commercial ever made.
To me this has got to be one of the best instrumental slow jams ever to be put on vinal
Very different from their usual style, but one of my all time favorites.
I was 17 years old and just married riding down south shore drive in THE CHI, from our wedding around 7pm hanging out with our friends to the reception!!! Kool and the Gang has always and will be a part of our lives forever!
The Most Infamous Sample From Summer Madness Is Summertime By Dj Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (1991) 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you enjoyed this version of SUMMER MADNESS you should hear the live version from the Rainbow Theater in London from 1976 it’s one of the greatest performances of that song they ever performed. KOOL AND THE GANG was and still is one of the greatest BANDS IN MUSIC HISTORY, I’ve been watching them perform since 1967 and have NEVER BEEN DISSATISFIED OR DISAPPOINTED, also KOOL AND THE GANG Members were some of the NICEST DOWN TO EARTH BROTHERS I’VE EVER HAD THE CHANCE OF MEETING WHEN I WAS YOUNG.
Keep in mind that most of the band members played together in jazz groups, prior to becoming known as Kool & The Gang. So it's no surprise that they were able to create this phenominal song ❤❤❤❤❤
Like that you let things play out without stopping.
This mixed into Jhelisa Friendly Pressure is just magical ;)
One of my favorite songs, especially the live version with the vocals !!! You should check it out🤩
It’s called PANNING LEFT AND RIGHT AS FAR AS THE HEADPHONES, This Song Is the Most Chill Song, Takes me back in time
This song gives me braingasms
This music is SOUL by any means necessary
Ron Bellows on the Synthesizer speaks for itself You can feel his love
Kool & The Gang also had a jazz background. That's why this song has such a strong jazz influence throughout. More jazz, less funk.
My husband was 22 years old and we were soooo cool in that era.
My favorite part is when the synthesizers come in!!!!!🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Timeless masterpiece
Robert “Kool “ Bell on bass . Yes he was the coolest
Kool and the Gang are from Jersey City. That's East Coast Sound! Lol. Loved listening to this at night in bed relaxing.

I love this song saludos de León GTO México
There's a live version that is even better
The 70s PERIOD!
You know how we do it ...ICE cube.
Aaliyah - a girl like you sampled this too
Ice Cube sampled it. It was also in the game wave race on n64 in a level song sampled
This was before Kool&the Gang sold out and started playing that disco shit..never mind that corney Cherish and Too Hot songs like that by them.....stick to THIS ALBUM..."Light of Worlds"..."You dont have to Change"."Rhyme Time People''...'Whiting H&G"..MY ALL TIME FAV ALBUM
When that baseline comes in....
I'm begging you to react to Kool and the Gang's "Whisper Softly", "Jungle Boogie", and "Spirit of the Boogie" because you mentioned on few occasions that the "talent drop off" is significant when think that in the 70s there were musicians who played instruments. Many of today's artist just have synthetic drum beat and few have any instrumentality of even a good hook....Again, I'm begging check out those songs mentioned above...
Please listen to Riding High by Faze-O and Tonight by Kleeer
Att Will (Just Another Day In Compton)
Chicago steppers music also..
If you haven't, you should definitely check out the "live version" but audio. You'll know what I mean
Will Smith, Ice Cube, Miles Davis & Easy Mo Bee sampled this
Check out a 80's group called The System song you are in my system. It's lit!
This was played in the first "Rocky" movies love scene. Kool and the Gang were also great musician. You mean greatness like Truth has no time stamp. Just sayin😉
This song is filthy!!!!!
