Will Smith sampled this and made a hit called "Summertime." Most of these rappers wouldn't' have a career if they didn't sample from 70s and 80s artists.

They started out playing jazz and then transitioned over to a more funky sound. This song is a must play at their concerts. This made me pick up the bass guitar. Kool’s instrument of choice.

Many of today's artist just have synthetic drum beat and few have any instrumentality of even a good hook....Again, I'm begging check out those songs mentioned above...
