I think the complexity of their music is the thing I like most about them. It's so easy to do just simple, sweet sounding folk music but their songs are layered, intricate like connected bridges that aren't level.
As a younger mother, this really goes to my heart. Trying to do the best for your children and feeling like a child. The way Adrienne describes the inner monologue of her mother makes me cry every time. What insight, what empathy, what beauty ❤️
I heard this song for the first time smuggling illegal fireworks into the inner city driving the highway for the first time ever passing through the country side with a 6 pack of tall boys, I will never forget that day.
I already loved this song on the album but hearing it acoustic like this I love it even more. The lyrical storytelling in this blew me away the first time I heard it ; it's rare to find a song like this with such vivid and emotional , raw storytelling. You can feel all the emotion in it and its just so beautiful in every way. And hearing it acoustic . Wow she hits every note impeccably . She has such a great control and tone . Love love love
@ well it was 4 years ago but I actually remember that time as something really special, all things have changed since then but it still feels the same

Mohammad Samman i always thought it was supposed to be intentionally jarring that way. Kindof a detached or disillusioned perspective comes out when its said so candidly.
I heard this song for the first time yesterday but I wasn't really paying too much attention. But I've been listening to THIS version on repeat for about 8 hours now and I would have had no idea about the difference until I went to listen to another version, so thanks for the heads up lol
@@jakehoff52 I agree. I always liked how raw that line was, it fits the story and the grittiness of the experience shes telling . It's not meant to be romantic or anything .
Was listening to this today and thought, “She sure does sound familiar…Adrianne Lenker? So I’m here. Funny enough I found this song the same time I found my girlfriend. Then I found Adrianne Lanker when we broke up

@@soozm8520 As far as I know Adrienne likes women, but it is James who admires her, and she, aware of this, always rewards him with eye contact. Musical respect and more, he knows she has greatness in her.

Some music cuts and glues at the same time. Beautiful
beautiful comment
Lovely sentiment
She's a woman who is truly alive and she nourishes my soul

EXACTLY!!! Keep it simple but put some decor on it. 😄

grew up with this band and they're still as good
You're still growing up!

really incredible stuff - would have liked to see a pebble solo though
her music takes me to another world😍
i’m so so in love with adrianne
So mesmerizing in such a melancholic way, it almost completely soothes me while taking me through a wave of so many emotions
I have decided to only listen to their albums for a period of time so I can dwell in captivity
Hows that going

Gorgeous.
100% beautiful.

This song is soooooooo good.
Lean Derthal except when she says CUM
Very cool sounds love it
Pure beauty.
im so thrilled
Needs more cinnamon.
Wow.. 💖
When this song is beautiful and overwhelming and you just cried.
lol, that was a very tasteful censorship at 1:24
I like the 'censored' version more tbh. The original verse always pulled me out of the beautiful melody when I hit it.

I really want to learn how to play this amazing song
What stops you?
Guitar part is really easy
What tuning is she in?
album version sounds like it could be DGDGAD or DADGAD with capo on the 3rd fret

the tuning is D G D F# G G
Relaxing
Love. This.

she looks at him to make sure he's on the mark with cues, it's needed to play in a band
Not me crying
is drummer playing rocks with cinnamon sticks? there truly is no band like BIG THIEF
What type martin is that?
Sounds nice
