If you were to ask anyone about Barrington, they would all say "he helped me" and that's all he ever did, helped people. R.I.P, Baz. You'll be missed but never forgotten 🙏
He did what all fans did in the day. Went to the Den. Found it funn6 about Millwall fan as so am i. Can imagine one of our iwn doing that. Some are notbtoo clever. Believe Barrington was a kick boxer . But the Zulus in their day had a good .mob. He did massive good for so many people. He was a legend to a lot of people who he helped. A decent human being. Rip.
casanova mancini I don’t no him no but I see him slap a guy in a gym you don’t really do that kind of shit on tv I’m not being disrespectful or anything like that but I always thought real gangsters stay out the spotlight you don’t go on tv slapping in gyms and shit there’s people out there that don’t even wanna be known that are involved in big time shit that would never go on tv maybe I’m wrong I don’t no
Quality bloke, Baz. I got lost on a train home from Norwich and ended up at Birmingham New Street. Made the mistake of going in a local pub (alone, dressed for the occasion and out of place) got a few lads giving me grief outside when Baz came out and warned them off. Didn't know the guy and he could of slapped me himself if he wanted. He knew I weren't there for trouble and looked out for me. Not sure if he would remember or not. Probably been 10 years since. Ended up having a drink talking about our teams results that day. Something I'll never forget. Absolute gent
Met baz back in 2010 at one of my mma fights at bescott stadium, he came over and congratulated me on my win, chatted with him for about 20 minutes, lovely guy, handshake like a vice, rest easy big man 👊🏻
Yeah I met him at a match once. My hand still hurts from his hand shake and his hands were like shovels. And as usual, he went out out of his way to help and give me some great advice that I still put into practice to this day. An absolute legend and gent, till the end.
Top bloke Baz.. spoke to him once at an event & he spoke about the charity stuff & the Sikh lads who got him into it. He couldn't speak highly enough of the Sikhs & what they do for our society especially the homeless. Made friends with a few & fuck me they can drink too, call em the Irish of the east.. all thanks to the convo with Baz!
I was Deeply saddened when I heard the news Rest In Peace my school friend and brother. You are a great person and a mentor to others you will be forever missed.
This is what you call an interview. James lets barrington talk and listens, this is why hes one of the best in the game. Respect to the zulus RIP baz from cardiff city fc 💙
Despite his Zulu connection can't help but respect the guy. Ever since he grabbed hold of a blues keyboard warrior who had been abusing villas captain, about the fact he'd lost his little brother ,he made the kid apologise to the villa players family and took him down the homeless shelter to dish out meals

James is a great interviewer, he really gets the guys to open up. The great thing with these old school heavies, they never bully anyone innocent. They only give it to people whom deserve it.
You think so lol take it you never when to the dome night club were baz and is mates kick the shit out of u for fuck all Zulu use to work all the doors and beat all the drunks up
RIP Baz. Top bloke. I was talking to him only a couple of months as he is from round my way. Such a huge loss. proper gutted for his family. I am a Villa fan but i will say KRO on for you Baz. x
Great interview . You are such a calm and professional interviewer. You always have flow .and your interview subjects seem so relaxed . Be well Souljahs
Met this guy when he was on doors at a rave in Birms really sound guy then I turn round later that night he dancing on the dance floor with us all hahaha legend
When he mentioned the Britains Hardest Man show, that struck a chord, about having that reputation. My sister was dating a guy a long time ago. He was 5'10" and a slight muscular build. He could fight, no boxing/martial arts background, he could just fight. Never never saw him start a fight, never saw him walk away from a fight. If someone was bullying someone, he'd be straight to their rescue. A really nice guy. Whenever my sister and him went out he would end up fighting, which, after 7 years she finished it because of all the trouble. His problem was his size, or rather his lack of it. People knew his name/reputation and whenever people actually saw him they were like "him, that's him, watch this" and would start a scrap just because they thought they would have him easy. Many learned the hard way.............
What an absolute legend. An amazing interview The nicest hardman you would ever have come across Couldn't believe it when the Mrs told me the news. RIP Baz
I was honoured to share my b, day with this guy an I remember him on the doors in the late 80s in Coventry an believe me I've never seen a guy take 3 big guys out on his own in the burgess but he done all 3 inside 30seconds, awesome but never once bullied some of us smaller guys only his own size.
Throughly enjoyed that chat between these two gents. Very touched by how this "hard man" dedicates some time by helping put the homeless. I think your podcast is wonderful Mr English. Both of you keep up the good work.
Watching this 3 years after it was uploaded. Sad to hear that Baz passed away from reading the comments afterward. What a lovely, interesting guy he was! I hope his family and friends can take comfort that he is still inspiring people to this day.
RIP Baz .🙏🙏🙏. I am just an ordinary guy living a very ordinary life, a life with all its problems no matter how big or small. My ‘down time’ involves me pushing on my ear buds and listening to all of Jame’s interviews. A great chance to escape and listen to these fantastic interviews. Love from Kerry in Ireland 🇮🇪 xxx
Acutally I am going to add something - A hard man is someone who gets out of bed early each morning to do a shitty job in order to put food on the table for his wife and kids.
A hard man don't work a shitty job only to never see his kids and coming home angry and annoyed. A hard man starts his own business and elevates his family

You can easily tell this man is a good man, one who isn't afraid to protect and stand for others. Some people will never appreciate how ingrained in real men the need/want to fight is. Doesn't mean those men are monsters. It's socially unacceptable in todays society, but history since the beginning of "man, Woman, child, tribe, territory" has dictated its "us or them" Alot of these fighting men are the guys the same society needs when the shit hits the fan. Don't hear any complaints from anyone then! Great interview and since reading the comments I understand Baz is no longer with us. Much love to the man's loved ones and R.I.P
