I will be using a Dash Cam from now on in the upcoming videos (again); turns out a lot of y'all prefer dash cam view. Also, I will have the gopro video (what I use to film these videos at the moment) off to a side viewing window.
Heads up: This weekend I will be showing my 2017 Camaro SS and 2017 Yamaha R6 so look forward to my thoughts & opinions of owning both of those beasts.

I own a 2017 2LT rs convertible, I saw a 1ss go for a few grand more than mine but one of the main reasons was cost. Sure they may be very close in cost but look at insurance, tax, fuel economy and cost of maintenance. Sure v8’s May be better but in the long run, it’s more practical to have a v6 over the v8. Not to mention the fact that you don’t need 455 bhp, 335 is still gonna get me from a to b and the 2LT has all the luxuries of the ss with less cost long term. I am 2LT and proud. But then again that’s just my opinion.

the justification for the 2LT V6 (vs SS) is if you are on a budget, live in the city, and use this car as your daily driver the v8 burns too much $$ (considering only using the full potential of the V8 on a race track or thru way without the police harassing you), at the same time the car will be fully loaded for your comfort - hope this helps

Go buy a prius if you care about gas mileage and not getting pulled over as easily. Getting a v6 camaro or sports car in general is a joke. If someone is on a budget and cant afford to fill up a sports car then there's plenty of other vehicles that are gonna offer nicer interior and better gas mileage than the v6 camaro for the same price and in many cases actually cheaper.

The v6 is still a sports car and it performs well. As well as any car would need to for the person who is going to drive it daily and never hit the track. 335 hp is legit. No it isn't a demon but I see videos of guys wrecking those high hp cars all the time. Some cars were made for the track. Some were made for the street. Buy accordingly. I own an lt with the rs package. It's wonderful for what I use it for. Hell, the v8 that it replaced only had around 280 hp. Hp isn't everything to everybody. It still drives like a sports car. Not like a honda or a Camry.

I love the thought of having an SS Camaro but at this moment it's smarter to get a V6 (for me personally). I would rather get the Camaro with luxury bits (2LT), simply because I love Camaros V8 or not but I also love a luxury feel and since I am under the age of 25, car insurance will kick my ass for having an SS. I want to be able to enjoy my Camaro without insurance breaking the bank.

I bought my 2LT (RS pkg, sunroof, Bose sound) for $27,741. When you say it's a ripoff, you're only going by MSRP, not the actual purchase price. My V6 may not perform as well as you V8, but it's got all the power I'll ever need along with the superior handling we all enojoy in our Camaros.

I got my 2017 2LT 1LE for $34k brand spanking new. That was a price I could not turn down considering that package goes for about $42-$45k. My insurance went down, and my highway miles are ridiculously good. Sure, I'm not the fastest guy in town, but the car looks great, and outperforms 95% of other vehicles in corners. Do I wish it was a V8? Yes, but that was out of my price range in a 1LE package, and it's nothing a pro-charger can't fix.

Eats up gas, costs waaay too much if your not 25+, and maintenance is a little bit more costly too. I say the V6 Camaro with the 1LE package is a true steal of you ask me.

Why you may ask - the 2ss costs almost $500 more per month on gas...I drive 50+ miles per day and at 16miles per gallon.... that would be a little steep. Second insurance costs increase. The fully loaded v6 is still really powerful and looks exactly the same as the SS when fully loaded.

For me it was about what I could afford and how long I wanted to save and go without a having a car. I have a 2016 V6 2LT RS, that I got for $23,000 with only 24,787 miles on it with every option including quad pipes and I love the car. When I was searching for a new car I knew I did not want to finance, so the car had to be in the right price range, I could not afford a V8 at the time. I did know before I bought my 2016 Camaro that I would be trading it in for a 2SS after I saved a bit more. All I am doing now is waiting to see what the 2019 Camaro refreshed car will look like and then decide If I like it or not. If the refreshed car does not look good then I will buy a 2017 or a 2018 2ss. (That's the plan at least.) You can see my car on my page, I have since added 22 inch replica camaro wheels

I’m looking at a Blue 2018 2LT Camaro (coupe). My reasoning for wanting the 2LT Camaro is that I love the exterior design of the 18 Camaro and the 2LT has that exterior design along with all of the interior features that I want. I noticed in your video you said you’re aimed more towards performance but I’m aimed more at design and (as you put it) luxury. That’s why I want the 2LT specifically because it offers the design that I’m into while also giving me the option to have those interior luxury features. I want a sun/moonroof, the safety features (like lane change, park assist, etc.) and the fancy technology like the radio display. I’ve put off getting it because when I first looked at one near me that had all of the features I wanted it was $40,000+. Now that I’ve waited so long it’s dropped about $10,000. I plan to wait until probably summer 2019 to get it so I think/hope it’ll drop more in price. But that’s why I’d get the 2LT myself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So I bought a 2lt v6 camaro 2016 brand new in early 2017 so for me the price was equal to a base camaro, but also for a 16 year old insurance between v6 and v8 are decently different , then for a 16 year old driving around all the time and I have to pay for my own gas It would have been a lot, I also wanted to have all the new technology like the blind spot and all that, I would still say personally paying 28k for a 2lt if I was slightly older like 18 and found a 2ss for 35-37k and was how I wanted it. I would have gone with 2ss

I thinks it’s for people that want to look like they drive a camaro instead of driving a real one. I although a bit different started my car search with four banger camaros because I wanted a dd that saved on gas. My car now is a v6 with bumblebee colors and I liked the power over the turbo but didn’t want to pay for premium gas.

  • @pollutedcrimson
    @pollutedcrimson 4 роки тому +1

Cant believe no one's mentioned the fact that the V8s need premium fuel while the V6 runs fine on regular. The massive of a price difference for fuel is what makes me lean towards the V6. I'm fine with 335 horsepower, it's not like you can ever really use the full V8 power anyway unless you take your car to the track. V8s are more for bragging rights and V6s/I4s are more for efficiency for daily driving, cost savings, longer commutes. I know the I4 ruffled a lot of V8 Camaro purist's feathers but honestly, who cares?

When you factor in the insurance and running costs of bmw, or any luxury German brand, it becomes far more expensive than a comparable pony car. Especially over the long term.
Also for people that want to daily the car in a 4 season / winter climate, having heated leather seats is a must, and we don’t want to see a V8 sports car get beaten up over the winter.

  • @zackleitheiser6606

I haven’t read through all the comments but like you said you want input. And understand this is an old video. I have owned my 2018 Camaro RS 2.0 for about a year now and purchased mine pretty new with only 2,500 miles on the car and not even broke in yet. As you said your a fairly young individual and so am I being 22 years old. The main selling points with me on the turbo 4cyl were easy for me. Light weight, great fuel mileage, comfortable, 2lt package loaded. Had all the top features I wanted except for a sunroof which I’m fine with. But the big things that took affect was insurance on the vehicle. It’s insane. But with research and studying on them, they out perform the V6, and can compete with the V8’s from Ford and dodge. The 4cylinder camaro is not a car to sleep on at all with just a cold air intake and throttle controller and pushing 4.4 second 0-60 with 18 pounds of boost STOCK. Yes it is a 4cylinder and nothing fancy but motor wise you can get them close to 6.2 zl1 horsepower because you can push higher RPM’s through smaller motors unlike the bigger motors and with it being a 1,000 pounds lighter it makes them very competitive. I got the luxury, the power/performance, and the affordability to own it without sacrificing a limb to own it. Loved the video and look forward to seeing more content from you! 👍🏼

I’m picking up a brand new 2LT V6 tomorrow and have no concerns at all. It’s all about negotiation. MSRP is exactly that, Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price. A suggestion.
I have negotiated just over $13,000 off of the MSRP of my brand new 2LT using rebates, incentives and promotions. This makes it an absolute performance bargain.

J Lopez562 if it's 2Lt it should come with leather seats, heat/cooled settings for the seats, and a sun roof. Otherwise if it doesn't have that it might as well be a 1LT which is cheaper or a 1SS which is a little more but you get a V8 engine.

I traded in my BMW 550i GT with a Camaro 2LT fully loaded V6. Sometime it is not about having a V8 or V6 but having a decent sport car with high end configurations. The 550i GT has 400hp and goes from 0-60 about 5 secs, pretty much the same as 2LT V6. I had a 2015 Mustang GT before and the 5.0 V8 just don't feel as same as a twin turbo V8 powered BMW. I sold it for a used maserati quattroporte, but the quatrroporte was a headache when comes to F1 transmission issues.

With all due respect, it sounds like you are just trying to justify buying your 1ss? I’ve been looking at the 1lt RS package for a while now, and the 2lt has some nice technology behind it. Either one would be fine, but it your looking at a long term daily the 2lt would have a more bearable shelf life. The whole car interior is very well put together but the dash cluster that the 2lt has is sexxiiiiiiiiiiii bruh. Just get in the car and watch it go. All in all, buy what you want people. I personally am planning on purchasing a 2lt V6 Camaro this fall. I'm not making the purchase because "it's a Camaro". I'm making it because it's a RWD V6 sports car that's got decent fuel economy, doesn't require premium fuel and has two-zone automatic climate control with heated and cooled leather seats. It also has the option to get a nice Bose speaker system and Android Auto/Apple Carplay. All of this comes out to just under 32k. With the dual-mode exhaust setup, it's just under 33k. I have been saving up since my Subaru Impreza started rattling just a couple months into my owning it back in August 2016. Don't get me wrong, the Impreza was a FANTASTIC first car and I'm very grateful that I was able to get such a good deal on it (a young couple had bought it but the husband returned it like a week or two later since his wife had influenced his decision originally, so it was in pretty much perfect condition). Back then, I liked cars but I didn't have the appreciation for them that I do now and I feel like the 2lt trim is a good middle ground when it comes to sportiness to luxury (for lack of a better term) ratio. I do believe though, that no matter what car I have after my Impreza, I will have more fun than I currently do.

I agree. I bought the 1LT (RS). It was roughly 32 grand. The fully loaded V6 Camaro’s run over 40 grand, some of them on up there at 45 grand. It’s ridiculous. I could have got an SS for that price. (I chose the V6 though because it’s cheaper on payments, cheaper on insurance, and better on gas. I drive roughly 100 miles a day a get around 40 MPG.)
And I had heated leather seats installed, and the car came with a Bose stereo system. The only thing it’s lacking that the 2LTs have that I have blatantly noticed is the heads-up display, duel climate control, and the fancy light show. And I do not envy any of it when it costed an extra 10-15 grand.

When buying a car, most people first look for the style of car they want. In the case a Camaro. Then they way in on the factors of purchasing the car. For example, is it a daily drive, does it snow, insurance cost, how many miles they drive to work, fuel cost and etc. then comes the features(do I want comfort or not). That is the main reason people chose the 2LT RS over the 1SS. I could simply say don’t waste your money on a 2SS Camaro and buy a sting ray for $2k more. Trust me, I know. I have a 2017 RS Redline and a 2016 vette and I don’t plan on driving vette in the snow...I also love all my luxury features

I currently own a 92 Miata & a 13 Dodge avenger. Looking to get rid of both and buy 1 car. The smaller engine provides cheaper maintenance & gas while providing me with a car I can still enjoy driving with a manual transmission. I love the look of a sports coupe but I'm not out here racing people. I work a business job and am using my car as a commuter.

Personally, the way I see it is that the 1LT, 1SS, and 2SS are the performance versions of the LT1, LT2, and LT3 respectively. You can therefore conclude that the V8 will add 8k to the price of any given model (accounting for standard options not available on the V6 and I4). For many, 8k is just too much for a 150 hp increase when the 275 hp is more than enough to get a felony on its own. Some people just want a Camaro with leather and premium audio. And that stuff is more worth it than extra horsepower at the expense of quietness and gas mileage.
