I'm glad you pointed this out. In Vedic astrology, the ego is represents both the Sun and the Moon (and Saturn as well) but in different ways. The Sun represents the ego in the sense that it's the Self--self-respect, self-esteem, pride, etc. The Moon is also the ego because it represents the Self as it relates to how we perceive the world and see things as separate existences. When we want to detach from an unhealthy solar ego, I'm talking about the sense of self-importance, arrogance, etc. When talking about detaching from the unhealthy lunar ego, it's more about learning to not see things as separate existences and seeing everything as the One Divine essence.
Thank you for the analysis of this story. Otherwise, I would have missed so much of this valuable symbolism as it applies to me and my connection with others.
I found this movie in a small section of a blockbuster store years ago living in Cali...took me years to remember the title and find again. It's really good 👍🏾
I saw this when I was very very young. IT IS beautiful, but I was too young to understand it, and the "supernatural elements" and stalker gave me nightmares. I dont regret seeing it though. Maybe I should rewatch it now ?
Yessss I love this movie, my mentor put me onto this movie when I was about 17. I felt a soul connection to that movie, it was fascinating. Knowing what I know presently, I'd love to revisit it with an Esoteric/Astrotheological lens. Thank you for doing this video. I am sharing for sure! Nice job on your astro-film analysis given how short you decided to keep it.
I watched this movie in one of my mythology classes, so cool. Everyone kind of laughed at the spiderman liked scene though, the teacher literally stopped the movie so everyone would stop. Other than that, this movie is impressive
Based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Euredice, the lovers torn apart by sudden death . Orpheus was loved by all, even the Gds his music was beautiful, even bringing Zeus to tears of joy. Until the loss of his love euredice . Then his music was only about sadness. Zeus was moved by his pain and asked Hades to allow him to retrieve his love from death so he could play happy music again . Music thought to even helped to raise the sun . Hades agrees with a catch. A test of true love. If she loves her as he thinks she will indeed follow him without thought and if he truly loved her as he said he will be able to trust that she will follow . He can't look back at any time, for if he does, he will lose her forever . All was good most of the way until they got to the gate way out to the land of the living. He turns to look back in a min of doubt, and he then sees his love being pulled back into the afterlife😢. Moral he almost had it all and in a moment of weakness ( doubt) he lost it all. 😢
@@sugarapple33 I think it was just her time and she wasn’t ready to face it, especially since she found love. The film highlights the idea that fated events that are inescapable.
The sun is the ego. Never the moon.
