I think a "fake" Jedi would be a bad decision. However, a fallen Jedi, that grew more complacent with the Dark Side simply for survival, would be much more interesting.

I mean Jedi ... where he had abandoned his Force connection and lived in a state of perpetual cynicism until the younger Rey (and Leia ... again) pulled him back.
If he's a fake Jedi, he could very well also be a fake prisoner, set in the cell on purpose to give the children someone they can relate to. We've seen the fake prisoner ploy done in other movies/genres to various effect. V for Vendetta had the "prisoner" on the other side of the wall. Anyway, if he's fake Jedi, I'm betting he's also fake prisoner and in the jail cell on purpose with the floating key trick set up in advance to scam the children out of ... something he needs their trust to get.

A smuggler, criminal, and working for the Hutts, but being at the right place at the right time for the right price to save the princess. Then when it comes down to attacking the death star, he takes his reward and leaves. He is gone during the complete battle of The First Death Star until the very ending when he shoots down the Tie-fighters that are following Darth Vader and he says that famous line “ YAHOOO! You're all clear, kid, now let's blow this thing and go home!” it would be cool if it was one of those moments. or maybe he was a past Inquisitor, trying to survive in a galaxy where his master is dead and was a Jedi turned to the dark side and then turned into something different like the middle. He can have compassion for people with the same compassion he has for people can turn into hatred just as quickly. Maybe he’s one of those antiheroes. Just speculating, but Disney needs a winner in this show. They already did one thing right by casting Jude Law. I don’t think he would accept a acting job for Star Wars for the turn out to be terrible. But it will be interesting to see how everybody else in the galaxy lives kind of like the middle class of people on earth. I always wanted to see the other side of the galaxy far far away where the common People live in acts and interact with one another out shopping doing ordinary things. We already got a glimpse of the ISB politics that I want more of those moments as well. On that scene when they’re all in jail and you see the key being moved by the force and they’re all in jail. Somebody must be using the force unless that’s a cut scene that they sometimes use in trailers. I can’t imagine him being in jail and then the kids come along and he miraculously has a string on that key and pulls it over. I really love Jude Law acting. In the MCU Captain Marvel I thought he did a good job as being a hero/villain playing Yon-Rogg, the leader of Starforce and Carol Danvers' mentor who leads the Kree's war against the Skrulls

I suppose that more exposition of Sith culture was being saved for Season 2 and beyond, but it was really weak in Season 1, which was disappointing. I was fine with Andor being about the espionage aspect. I'd be fine with a show dealing mostly with the underworld criminal aspect of the Galaxy. Mando was really good with only limited use of Jedi. There should be a good live-action Sith show at some point. I just hope they aren't over-hyping that Ja Nod is a "different" kind of Jedi and then deliver something mundane or uninteresting. There was a mountain of lore about the failed padawans of the Jedi order. The Agricorps, the Explorer Corps and the Rangers were never covered in film or television shows, but they were all force users, just not Jedi. I was genuinely hoping the announced Rangers of the New Republic was going to dig into the expanded universe lore to resurrect the Rangers, who I can’t remember right offhand if they were Arcturan or Aquilonian Rangers. They were created as an organization of Jedi who aren’t Jedi, but rather a support system for the Jedi. They were the force-using pilots, mechanics and scouts for the Jedi Knights when the lore was painting the clones as the opponents of the Jedi in the clone wars before the prequels were released. That could partially be where they are going with Jude Law’s character in Skeleton Crew, but that’s digging into some extremely niche expanded universe lore. It’s too bad they haven’t dug into that portion of it before, because that gave you a whole lot more nearly-Jedi, who could have easily escaped the Jedi purge, rather than making up other reasons why known Jedi survived. Not everything connected to the Jedi order was a Jedi Knight until the prequels were made. That was when the elite of the Jedi were made more common. You get a slight hint of it when Anakin is being tested by the Jedi Council, but no explanation. What would happen to him if he wasn’t permitted to be trained?
I think Jude Law's character is a Sith/Dark Jedi. Or rather a former Sith/Dark Jedi with a questionable past, and he's trying to reform his ways. Protecting this group of kids that he meets could be his character's redemption arc. The action figure lacking a light saber isn't a big deal. They're probably just trying to avoid spoilers. Toylines have a tendency to spoil plot details from movies and TV shows (remember CA: Civil War). Or I could be completely wrong about everything 😂.
Saying that a Star Wars show is "LYING TO US" is a bit much, the English language is full of many other naunce and description words, phrases, and metaphors. Like Tom Hanks's Hobo talking about Santa Claus in 'Polar Express', the use of the word "lying" implies malice on the part of Lucas Film/Disney, while word "decoying" would be more about tatics to preserve surprises in the upgoing film.
Expect nothing, don't pay attention to trailers or leaks. In general whatever you find or see will be a very minor portion of the show. Anything Star Wars in development is subject to change.
If Disney wants to portray, the Jedi is the bad guys then who are the good guys when it comes to The Force. I understand if they’re trying to tell a story of the downfall of the Jedi where the Sith comes to power around 80 BBY. But after 5 ABY they should start building up the Jedi order to what it once was during the High Republic. And no, I’m not talking about the acolyte either. It seems like to me that they’re wanting to put in agenda in Star Wars to make a social statement. If that’s what they want to do then they need to go about it a different way, so it feels natural during the show, instead of forced upon the audience. Kinda like how Star Trek did in the 60s. There was an agenda there, but it came naturally. A black female on the bridge as communications officer, and Asian individual as the pilot, the navigator was Russian. Along with Kirk and Spock those individuals were senior staff on the flagship of the Federation. Today in 2024 we just take that as no big deal but you have to put yourself back into the 60s. 1965 is when we passed the civil rights act. The Cold War was in full swing with the Soviet Union, Russia. 20 years before that during World War II, the United States put Asian Americans in internment camps until the end of the war. So that was a big deal having all those individuals as bridge officers on the flagship of the Federation. But when we watch it today, we don’t think about any of that Because we are not back into that timeframe. And when I watched it in the late 70s early 80s. It was no big deal to me. They played it so settle that if you weren’t paying attention, you wouldn’t notice it. So it is as help on an agenda. It should take a page from Star Trek, TOS.

Didn’t see Ep IX because it was unnecessary and not canon. Seeing a Rey movie is unnecessary and not canon… Ever notice how every single project that has come up since the advent of the “sequels” has been about and revolved around the time period of the Star Wars universe that mattered? After disappointment after disappointment from Kathleen Kennedy/Dave Filoni Star Wars, I just don't care about any new material. Except Andor S2 because S1 was actually good and the budget and cast were excellent. I'm done with new Star Wars as long as Kennedy and Filoni are there, particularly since the latter keeps shoving Ahsoka Tano down our throats and I'm done with it, I'm not interested in any new Star Wars beyond Andor. We've been burnt too many times. That's why I'm rereading the original EU. Just finished The Crystal Star and started Darth Plagueis. Unlike new material, I actually want to read on.
Selling Star Wars is the best thing for it. Waiting for it to become Public Domain, people would turn it into a fantasy. Star Wars would become the EU and that's why the EU is Legends. There are some aspects Disney has done with Star Wars that I like. Namely the idea that if a Force user doesn't use the Force for a long time, they lose the ability to use it and takes time a practice to use it again.

Let’s hope there’s no Rey movie! Disney/Lucasfilm can do plenty of post-ROTJ stories without connecting them to the sequel mess.

We could see Jude Law's lightsaber in skeleton crew trailer 2 today or tomorrow. It would be cool to see Luke Skywalker meeting Ezra Bridger for the first time in skeleton crew and working together facing against the Knights of Ren in Ahsoka season 2 and the mandalorian movie. Maybe Jon Watts's star wars movie should be about Luke's Jedi temple. I really hope Finn returns as a Jedi in the rise of Skywalker sequel movie along with Poe Dameron which I'll pray it will release on December 2025 and I really wish I was in that movie. I could be the son of Luke Skywalker.

It still have star wars live action series including movies, i doubt that star wars celebration 2025 give us new animated series like Commander Cody or Captain Rex series, or maybe Original trilogy animated series, if one animated series win, two new animated series will have to wait until 2028.
There was a mountain of lore about the failed padawans of the Jedi order. The Agricorps, the Explorer Corps and the Rangers were never covered in film or television shows, but they were all force users, just not Jedi.
I was genuinely hoping the announced Rangers of the New Republic was going to dig into the expanded universe lore to resurrect the Rangers, who I can’t remember right offhand if they were Arcturan or Aquilonian Rangers. They were created as an organization of Jedi who aren’t Jedi, but rather a support system for the Jedi. They were the force-using pilots, mechanics and scouts for the Jedi Knights when the lore was painting the clones as the opponents of the Jedi in the clone wars before the prequels were released.
That could partially be where they are going with Jude Law’s character in Skeleton Crew, but that’s digging into some extremely niche expanded universe lore. It’s too bad they haven’t dug into that portion of it before, because that gave you a whole lot more nearly-Jedi, who could have easily escaped the Jedi purge, rather than making up other reasons why known Jedi survived.
Not everything connected to the Jedi order was a Jedi Knight until the prequels were made. That was when the elite of the Jedi were made more common. You get a slight hint of it when Anakin is being tested by the Jedi Council, but no explanation. What would happen to him if he wasn’t permitted to be trained?

I think Jude Law's character is a Sith/Dark Jedi. Or rather a former Sith/Dark Jedi with a questionable past, and he's trying to reform his ways. Protecting this group of kids that he meets could be his character's redemption arc.
The action figure lacking a light saber isn't a big deal. They're probably just trying to avoid spoilers. Toylines have a tendency to spoil plot details from movies and TV shows (remember CA: Civil War). Or I could be completely wrong about everything 😂.
Saying that a Star Wars show is "LYING TO US" is a bit much, the English language is full of many other naunce and description words, phrases, and metaphors. Like Tom Hanks's Hobo talking about Santa Claus in 'Polar Express', the use of the word "lying" implies malice on the part of Lucas Film/Disney, while word "decoying" would be more about tatics to preserve surprises in the upgoing film.

If Disney wants to portray, the Jedi is the bad guys then who are the good guys when it comes to The Force. I understand if they’re trying to tell a story of the downfall of the Jedi where the Sith comes to power around 80 BBY. But after 5 ABY they should start building up the Jedi order to what it once was during the High Republic. And no, I’m not talking about the acolyte either. It seems like to me that they’re wanting to put in agenda in Star Wars to make a social statement. If that’s what they want to do then they need to go about it a different way, so it feels natural during the show, instead of forced upon the audience. Kinda like how Star Trek did in the 60s. There was an agenda there, but it came naturally. A black female on the bridge as communications officer, and Asian individual as the pilot, the navigator was Russian. Along with Kirk and Spock those individuals were senior staff on the flagship of the Federation. Today in 2024 we just take that as no big deal but you have to put yourself back into the 60s. 1965 is when we passed the civil rights act. The Cold War was in full swing with the Soviet Union, Russia. 20 years before that during World War II, the United States put Asian Americans in internment camps until the end of the war. So that was a big deal having all those individuals as bridge officers on the flagship of the Federation. But when we watch it today, we don’t think about any of that Because we are not back into that timeframe. And when I watched it in the late 70s early 80s. It was no big deal to me. They played it so settle that if you weren’t paying attention, you wouldn’t notice it. So it is as help on an agenda. It should take a page from Star Trek, TOS.
So Kenobi was a bad guy in Obi-Wan? Luke was a bad guy in the Mandalorian? Ezra and Kenan were bad guys in Rebels? Ahsoka in her who? I am pretty sure there are plenty of Disney shows where Jedi are not the bad guys.. you are just cherry picking.

I get the feeling there has been a lot of behind the scenes 'serious talking' about future Star Wars live action, following the road crash the Acolyte turned out to be. I am sure we will see a far better product in future shows, probably including Skeleton Crew. I can only hope.

After disappointment after disappointment from Kathleen Kennedy/Dave Filoni Star Wars, I just don't care about any new material. Except Andor S2 because S1 was actually good and the budget and cast were excellent. I'm done with new Star Wars as long as Kennedy and Filoni are there, particularly since the latter keeps shoving Ahsoka Tano down our throats and I'm done with it, I'm not interested in any new Star Wars beyond Andor. We've been burnt too many times. That's why I'm rereading the original EU. Just finished The Crystal Star and started Darth Plagueis. Unlike new material, I actually want to read on.
Selling Star Wars is the best thing for it. Waiting for it to become Public Domain, people would turn it into a fantasy. Star Wars would become the EU and that's why the EU is Legends. That's a fantasy, not a space opera.

That’s what worries me. It looks fun. However, one more “subversion of my expectations” regarding the Jedi and I’m not watching Star Wars again.

There are some aspects Disney has done with Star Wars that I like. Namely the idea that if a Force user doesn't use the Force for a long time, they lose the ability to use it and takes time a practice to use it again.
