great video thank you. On the holding company structure, if shareholders in the holding company are the same as in the operating company, the liabilities from the operating company will not go over to the holding company?
Still seperate legal entities.
the Holding Company will be the shareholder of the operating company. derek
Do you have the ATO advise/ link saying that holding company tax rate is 25% if grouped with active business ??
thank you!
have a look at LCR 2019/5 that discusses what entities can use the base rate 25%. The ATO allow a 'look through' test in determining the nature of the income coming from within the group structure. derek
Can you do a video on offshoring a business in a low tax place
that is a very specialist area and usually ends in tears. from my experience setting up offshore companies can work if the business is genuinely operating outside Australia. probably somthing i won't do a video on. derek
