ASUS sent me this mesh system to run through my series of tests. This video was not sponsored and I was free to deliver my findings. - Наука та технологія
Super helpful, thank you. All other reviews I've found don't do the local test of the speeds, this gave me the confidence to make a decision.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow amazing review. So in depth. I just checked out some of your other videos and they're just as good. Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Will you do the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 also? Especially compared to the et12
Thanks for the review
No problem 👍
Nice video, thanks 👍
Thanks!
Great Video! 👍👍
Thanks!
@@landpet Which one would you buy TPLink XE75 or Eero Pro 6? My Internet Speed is 600mb symmetrical. Thanks
Thanks!
No problem!
I just got a pair to go with my GT AXE-16000.
One will be wired and then the other wireless from the GT6 node.
I know this isn't wifi6e like the AXE-16000, but I don't use the 6E on that anyway.
If/when faster than 1gb speeds become available here, I'll then swap the two GT6's out to something else.
Sounds like a sweet setup
Do you have a recommendation on a modem or does that not really matter. I have 1 gbps at home and wondered if there’s a particular modem you thought would pair well with this mesh.
If the modem is providing 1Gbps then that's all you need. This thing should pair with just about any modem.
How does it compare to the Asus ET12? I live in a 2 story 1300 sq ft home so distance is not that huge of a concern but my old router is a Asus RT-AC66U and my ISP is only providing 500 mbps. Should I get this one right now I can buy directly from ASUS for $471 out the door or should I spent around $780 for the ET12? thank you 👌🏼
I’d go with this
Quick question before I buy it can they both work separately as a single router both hooked up to the main router via ethernet ?
From my research, the device will connect to whatever router is giving off the strongest signal
What about firewall settings. For those of us who are parents can we block specific sites? What about application blocking is that an option. Examples would be blocking instagram app and instagram website?
Unfortunately, I’m not running the Asus now to check. Here’s a site with more info: www.digitalcitizen.life/asus-parental-controls-router/
Just got the Tp link XE200 with fiber optics. Should I use Moca adapter 2.5 gig for the co-ax I have already around the house? And will that be as good as ethernet? Or should I just stick with 6ghz backhaul. Also with the Moca adapter can I plug it into any coax jack on one side of the house and plug it into another coax jack on the other side of the house for it to work? Also I’d like to add another Deco in my garage but that cannot be wired for sure. Therefore how will my setup work if I use ethernet backhaul using Moca 2.5 coax adapter between XE200 and putting another different deco (probably a deco that is a bit cheaper since it’s only for garage and I don’t need that much power right) in the garage using wireless backhaul effect my network? Or should I not even get Moca Adapter and stick with 6ghz backhaul (the xe200 nodes will be around 35-40ft from each other). Or should I just do the MoCA for the two XE200s and just do wireless in garage. Also does the XE200s 6ghz Wifi not go to the same SSID as 2.4 and 5GHz ? Did they change that or is it still like that? Also in your opinion what is the”best” mesh system. I did my research and watched your videos and found that XE200 seems to be most powerful, consistent, and reliable.
I would try wireless backhaul first, if you’re unhappy with the speeds, then you can get a MoCA adapter. You can go anywhere in your house with MoCA as long as the coax is connected to each other.
@@landpet Thank you and for my third mesh deco should I get another wifi 6e like a xe75 ?for the 6ghz backhaul because if I get one that isn’t wifi 6e wouldn’t it make my 5GHz band worse which is what I’ll be using? Also is the wireless backhaul really good on the xe200? And will adding the third mesh create an extra hop?
Can you connect more than 1? Like if I wanted to have the 1 connected to the and 3 spread through out the house?
Yeah there’s an upper limit typically for 5 or so. But 4 or less is completely fine
I am upgrading from Orbi RBK50 (great for 5 years now but not getting half of what we pay for in ISP internet speed). We work from home with virtual meetings, do a lot of console gaming, and streaming. 1GB internet speed. 2500 square foot two level home. Mesh connected via wired MoCa adapters. No 6E devices as of now, but hoping to get 5 years out of this next system too. I’m trying not to pay for more than we’d be able to benefit from. Would you recommend this ROG GT6 setup, the XT12, or ET12? Love Orbi, but seems they may be overpriced for similar performance. Thanks in advance!
I would opt for ET12 if you’re planning on keeping for 5 years since it has 6E
@@landpet Thank you! Appreciate the response.
Thanks for the review. Which router are you using in the speed testing that is getting 1800+ mbps using Wifi 6e, that’s not the Rapture GT6, right?
The speed tests are from this router. Wifi 6e devices are backwards compatible with wifi 6 and with this router you could get those very fast speeds
Got it, thanks.. one last question, under Wifi settings did you enable DFS channels with 160 mhz enabled or is that not necessary or recommended, I think DFS channel is turned off by default?
I'm using the node about 15-20 feet away from the one that's acting as the router and I'm getting 300 download and 150 upload on my xbox using wired backhaul. This is crap! Clearpath from node and router and I have the full gig from my modem. What did I do wrong?
I'm trying to remember if this one had a dedicated channel for wireless backhaul.
So you have the xbox connected via ethernet to the wireless backhaul node I imagine based on what I'm reading. What was your XBOX speeds before all of this? Keep in mind, sometimes the device itself is not that great.
If the device was getting much faster speeds before, then check to see where the GT6 is placed, is it behind something, hiding somewhere or is super close to other electronics like a TV or some speaker? You want these mesh systems to be more of an open spot. Also check if the third band can be used as a dedicated wireless backhaul.
Hope this helps!
This GT6 is a very good mesh system from what I remember
Witch one better those asus or tp link deco xe75 pro ? Help! :)
Both great, asus has more options and solid wireless backhaul numbers. Deco has WiFi 6E support with solid wireless backhaul numbers with less options. Both are amazing, so depends what you’re looking for, I would probably opt for the cheaper price option since you can’t go wrong with either.
Do I need an Internet greater than 5G or with 5G does it work too??
Also, it needs to be connected to my Internet, right??
Yes you need internet access. When I mention 5GHz, I'm referring to the WiFi Band, it doesn't have anything to do with 5Gbps Internet Speeds. This will work for any Internet speeds up to 2.5Gbps, anything faster than 2.5Gbps, this will cap out at 2.5Gbps, you will want a different router with a faster port like the Orbi RBKE963 or Deco XE200.
@@landpet My wifi is 5g, can I connect it in it?
Also how does it work?? I connect to my Internet and does it create its own Internet or does it just speed up the normal Internet?
Try doing a file transfer over wifi 6e and then share the speed results... Like sharing larg files over wireless technology..... 🤤
I can but that's really what a speed test is, it's transferring data and measuring the speed of the transfer.
Would you recommend this or the XT9 for wi fi thanks
Both really good from what I remember
@landpet Thanks for the reply. What about the XT9? Thanks!
Would I have to upgrade my modem provided by my isp?
No, as long as your modem has ethernet, you should be fine in almost all cases.
@@landpet oh okay well is there any settings that I need to change when I connect the router?
will you test out Tp-link Deco BE95
I believe so
@@landpet will wait
Question. The modem my ISP provided is only capable of 50mbps download upload speed for the 2.4Ghz bandwidth.. (at 5.0Ghz bandwidth tho it was able to hit 230 down and upload speed if I am near the modem.)
if I use a mesh system like this, will that increase to match the the 5.0 or atleast go to a hundred?
Ruijie can do better at lower price
@@drippingout6154 I dont understabd what you mean
@@4givenoxygenbarez Ruijie it's a brand like Asus, TP-LINK, etc but corporate segmented (competing with Aruba, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Cisco) but still they have consumer products
@@drippingout6154 Thank you
@@4givenoxygenbarez sample video, 2.4Ghz can reach 300Mbps

The design is certainly an acquired taste, but it definitely performs well.
Yup
I’m one of the ROG fanboys that love the crazy designs lol
Can you also do a speed test or comparison before connecting the mesh
Well I’m going from one mesh to another. It’s always a new one, so I am specifying all the speeds before and after
Sir i have watched all videos but pls now change some format and some dialogues....its seems repeatative.....i know its hard but still i know you can do it
I'm trying to keep it consistent so people can jump around to see the results. What do you have in mind? What should my video be like? Should I explain less and go faster to the results? I'm always open to improving. One thing I've considered and others have commented on is I can do a separate video where I explain wired, wireless backhaul, what is a mesh wifi and so on and do the unboxing faster and get to the results faster.
it just router what u can expect bruh?
Sur content is excellent but in every router or mesh review from your isp speed like from 5:00 minutes to 6:30 same...almost same in every video... if possible change dialogues...and you can pin your previous videos for same thing to explain that so people can go that video also...dont explain same thing everytime...thats my opinion sir...but if you want you can try new things
@@kushmbbs14 it's just router lol what do do you expect?
