I wouldn't necessarily say it's too good for everyone. It's that they still have a limited number of craftspeople making them so supply is super low on the trinity. And they have little financial or quality control incentive to do anything differently.
The way you told the story of finding the bag was really sweet. It's obvious you're thrilled with it and that you appreciate being lucky enough to have it. It's a lovely bag and fits really well with your style.

What a shame for someone who is such an animal lover.
You didn’t buy it from the Hermes store so it IS second hand. I suggest you ask Hermes if you disagree. Nothing wrong with buying second hand but to say it’s new when it’s not given someone else has handled it or may have used it (but were careful so there’s no sign of use) is just misleading to your viewers. The sag in the bag also gives it away.

As an owner of more then 20 Kelly/Birkin bags you should get an insert from 7RP ASAP because the bag isn’t in fantastic shape at the front and the side on the left. It’s already sagging and it’s so important to keep the structure of the bag. I only have one problem and it’s not with you but with all the influencers buying Birkin and Kelly’s at the moment. They all get them from consignment stores or personal shoppers and make it look so easy. As an Hermès client and lover for many years you never forget the first time you get a bag offered in store, it’s such an experience and I will cherish that bag forever and through the years I have established a fantastic relationship with all of my SA’s so I can have any Hermès bag I want. Getting a Birkin or a Kelly in store is an accomplishment and that’s getting lost nowadays. Since July 2020, Hermès is putting on their receipts when you buy a Birkin or a Kelly that it can’t be sold second hand and there’s a reason for it. First I found it strange when I read it on my receipt but now I totally get it. Hermès is trying to protect their exclusiveness and their heritage.

Lydia, do you think you will ever go back to making proper content? Like actual themed videos and videos that have more of a purpose that just unboxings. While it’s great you have amassed a great deal of wealth it’s becoming a little bit unrelatable and out of touch with reality and to be honest none of this stuff seems to make you happy. You seem to have a lovely friendship with Carrie... would be great to see more of that (post lockdown) and more fun or meaningful topics. It would be great to see a more creative side and Ali is really good with that so he could help you.
This seems a bit backhanded and passive aggressive...you knew what you were clicking on when you read the title and saw the video thumbnail. Lydia does tons of vlogs and videos that aren’t luxury unboxing’s and feature her spending time with family and friends, so why not just click on one of those? In fact, most of her videos are basically that.

I was thinking the same thing! Towards the end of last year I've noticed much more YT's starting to purchase there first Hermes bags....what's up with that? A lot of them are getting them through consignment shops or personal shoppers. Crazy that Hermes is now on the rise considering their price point. I mean all luxury brands are expensive and continue to go up with all the increases but Hermes was always at the top of the list and it's like now every one is getting one. @@ivy3385 depends on the leather. Not every leather folds this easily. Perhaps swift leather, but Barenia, Togo, Clemence are quite sturdy, and don’t fold , specially when the bag is new. She bought the bag second hand, that might explain why it looks this way. It was probably not well stored either
@@mcd3560 actually she mentioned somewhere in the comments the bag was never used. So second hand yes, but the previous owner never used it. I own 2 hermes bags, they fold down due to the leather they are made of.

Which is fine for me, I also own second hand handbags). Leathers like swift or evercolor for example do fold after a few months, not barenia, not togo, not epsom (which never folds really). You are saying that “all authentic Hermès bags fold easily “, that is incorrect. Also, you can find plenty of unboxing videos on UA-cam, and you will notice that the bags don’t look like Lydia’s. This bag is nowhere “new”, and it wasn’t properly stored, hence the folding

I feel like more and more influencers are getting access to Hermes now, whereas few years ago, it was the same story about Chanel; It was hard to access, then suddenly everybody had a Chanel. It feels way more common now to own a Chanel bag. Makes me wonder if Hermes' destiny is going down the same route. I find Hermes bags to be quite boring... I guess all the hype they get its is because how hard is to get them and that makes people to desire them more.

I was thinking the same thing! Towards the end of last year I've noticed much more YT's starting to purchase there first Hermes bags....what's up with that? A lot of them are getting them through consignment shops or personal shoppers. Crazy that Hermes is now on the rise considering their price point. I mean all luxury brands are expensive and continue to go up with all the increases but Hermes was always at the top of the list and it's like now every one is getting one. If you want one and can get one, more power to you and enjoy. :-)

Hermes bags are made that way. An authentic bag should fold easily. It's not overly structured.
@@ivy3385 depends on the leather. Not every leather folds this easily. Perhaps swift leather, but Barenia, Togo, Clemence are quite sturdy, and don’t fold , specially when the bag is new. She bought the bag second hand, that might explain why it looks this way. It was probably not well stored either
@@mcd3560 actually she mentioned somewhere in the comments the bag was never used. So second hand yes, but the previous owner never used it. I own 2 hermes bags, they fold down due to the leather they are made of.

@@ivy3385 i too own hermes bags and one in barenia, and the leather doesn’t fold when the bag is “new” (her bag is not new, it is not fresh from store so it is not new. Which is fine for me, I also own second hand handbags). Leathers like swift or evercolor for example do fold after a few months, not barenia, not togo, not epsom (which never folds really). You are saying that “all authentic Hermès bags fold easily “, that is incorrect. Also, you can find plenty of unboxing videos on UA-cam, and you will notice that the bags don’t look like Lydia’s. This bag is nowhere “new”, and it wasn’t properly stored, hence the folding

I feel like more and more influencers are getting access to Hermes now, whereas few years ago, it was the same story about Chanel; It was hard to access, then suddenly everybody had a Chanel. It feels way more common now to own a Chanel bag. Makes me wonder if Hermes' destiny is going down the same route. Also with so many influencers owning Hermes now, the bags don't seem so exclusive to me anymore!
