Excellent. I shall look forward to riding on it late September as my wife and I will be making our second visit to the island. this time with our son and his girlfriend. I plan to travel the entire route from Ryde to Shanklin for the first time, taking in the steam railway again, too.
@@philipbonner6486 never said that was a bad thing, infact i was mainly referring to the fact that they kept to using old underground stock, its unique
@@rail_roadgaming677: The reopening date seems a bit sketchy but I know the Island Line bus replacement finishes on 3rd September but I guess it could be withdrawn if the railway reopens before that date.
@@rail_roadgaming677 With the 1st August date passed now, and (as far as I know) three out of the five two-car units still on the mainland, I think they're reluctant to release a proposed opening date at the moment, and just concentrating in getting things completed as soon as possible. They could well take us by surprise with hardly any notice when it does open.
Very smart. Gives the railway a dedicated modern look. Look forward to having a trip.🇬🇧

Enjoy.
Very smart, I love the single leaf doors of the `D' stock.
Looking forward travelling on these trains, miss the other trains.
Class 484 003 was the first onto the pier - 9 Sep 21 - and did an evacuation exercise.
very nice livery
Same as Class 444 and 450 Desiros on the Portsmouth-Waterloo services. But yes, very nice and not so garish.
Looking good!
Great video. ☺️
simply went from tube stock to subsurface stock from older underground trains
Human beings are never satisfied.

I hope the next operator of the island line when its time to replace these bad boys won't ruin the tradition of old underground stock
The reason ex LU stock is used is because of Dimensions of the tunnel beneath Rhyde which would result in larger trains getting stuck!
At last!
I still miss the old fleet though.
I was last there in 1986 during the last years of Standard Stock and completely missed the 1938 Stock.
When does the new service start? Does anyone know?
I think it starts at the 1st of August

Thanks. I suspect that they do not know either.
