My wife, my son, and I all had pastel portraits done by Svay Tang Denis in March 1994 at the Place du Tertre. He also allowed me to photograph him doing it. Even back then when I outright asked a number of the other artists there, "Who is the best to do an actual appearance portrait?," he was almost unanimously named BY HIS PEERS. You don't run into this kind of genius every day, and they all knew it. I still cherish his portrait of me, thinking it my very best likeness ever. To our surprise my wife's close friend Brenda, by sheer coincidence, had him do her portrait in 1996...and, like me, considers it the best likeness of her done in art.
Love this great artist. You called him a Living Master. You are right. Watching Teng has really helped to progress my skills. I also want to thank the excellent filming You did not only show the artist, you took much extra effort to show the relationship between the artist, his work and the subject matter. The added inset pictures of the lady were especially helpful. Technically speaking, this is an amazing tutorial video and you really should consider do more of them. Most videos just show the artist at work, but your extra steps really enhanced my learning experience. Thank you so much. Cant wait to see more.
these works arent hung on grand exhibisions and dont hold a billion dollar price tag but are made by great masters who are humble and skilled. Those who are expensive and are in grand exhibisions are mostly garbage and are done by arrogant self proclaimed artists. :(
Por más q miro no hay ningún parecido , la imagen real y la del retrato son diferentes , las proporciones del rostro del dibujo son más alargadas y difieren mucho de la realidad y la perspectiva q está usando el artista
