I HATE uphill gravel switchbacks!! I'll admit it, they scare me. I've been turning down gravel rides, I prefer to ride them alone so I can stop and gather my nerves and get off the bike for a minute, drink some water, and let my nervously sweaty helmet air out.
    You made the right choice.

Sounds like you made a good decision. There are so many roads to ride here, I have no interest in riding out of the country.

You made the right decision to not go. I support your decision. I wouldn't have went out of the country without having the experience first

All my camera gear an electronics go in to a large magnetic tank bag. My meds an a pair of water shoes too. Preferably one that expands to hold my helmet as well. TP goes in that bag too.
Another bag would have 1 or 2 changes of clothes an some trash bags. For cold weather, a fluffy jacket that can compress down, or one you don't care to throw away. But mostly empty for bringing home dust collectors I buy.
I wear water shoes any time I don't have my boots on. Water shoes because they dry fast. Dirty clothes go in to a trash bag. When I take a shower, the dirty clothes go in the tub an walked on. They are then rinsed off an hung in the shower to dry till morning.
Assuming you are wearing clothes an you have at least one change of clothes, hand washing laundry every other day is not that hard. An you can buy more if needed.
