This information is so inspiring! Thank you, I’m waiting for my admission decision for MS in Speech-language Pathology. I can’t wait to get in and start asking questions!
I'm a junior in Highschool and I'm obsessed with trying to find ways to not have student loans when I'm in college and this helped so much! Thank you so much💖
I'm so blessed to have this show up in my recommended videos! I'm going to be a senior so I will be applying to college in the fall/winter. I am a good test taker so I'm not worried about my sat score so much, it's more so my GPA. My gpa is OK, but not superior (it's a 3.3-3.4). I'm so scared. My mom expects me to go to an Ivy League which I know isn't even possible at this point, and my dream school was NYU. I won't be able to get into either with the gpa I have. But I know I will NOT go to a community college, my parents won't let me. Do you think that even with my mediocre gpa but high sat score that I would get scholarships? This has been giving me a lot of anxiety lately and I'm really scared. I've been dreaming of college for a really long time. I moved before entering high school and all my straight A grades changed and now I'm terrified about how ill afford college:(
you will definitely get a scholarship somewhere with a 3.4 GPA and a great SAT score. it may not be an ivy league but still a great university! look up schools that are of interest to you but are also in your range. write down a list of your achievable schools, and then your "reach" schools (a few that may be above your level). apply EVERYWHERE. you will for sure get something with a bomb SAT/ACT score. you just have to be realistic of where you can get it in. you can always transfer later if you aren't satisfied with your options.
+TeAmoAaron Ok! This was very good to hear. I was really getting anxious t's good to know that the possibility of a scholarship is still an option. It gives me hope. If there's anything that gives me anxiety, it's thinking about my future. I'm super glad you helped me. Thank you so so much! I really appreciate it!
This video was super helpful as I am currently a college freshman who is constantly looking for more scholarships and ways to finance my education. I now know that there is actual assistance with graduate which is inspirational since I know I want more than one degree but was worried about the financial burden related. I showed this video to my sister who is about to graduate from college but didn't want to go to grad school because of the high costs and now she is considering it so thank you!
This video increased my hesitation about going to an HBCU. I didn't get a scholarship from the school and I'm still waiting for my financial aid letter from themand I don't think it's going to be that great. I told my mom that if they weren't going to give me enough that I wanted to go to a community college and she freaked out. "What?! That's not apart of the plan! What are you talking about!" I'm not kidding, she really responded like that. I mean if anything I'm trying to help my family out because they're the ones who are paying for everything. I'm just gonna wait for my letter and if its not good then I'm just not going. I also want to go to grad school so thanks for this video, I'm about to google assistantship right now.
This video has perfect timing! Some of My financial aid just ran out so I'm looking for things to cover it. I go to gsu and I swear the aid people will tell you no just so you leave!
I know this is an old video, but I'm a post graduate, looking into my second masters/phd but I don't want to play for it. This video was so helpful😊 I love these educationally based videos, please do more!!!
I am a teacher at an innercity school. I would LOVE if you could do a step by step video for my seniors about college. I talked to them about fasfa and 90 percent had no clue what I meant. You seem so inspirational I'm sure they would love a video from you.
From someone who graduated Valedictorian this past year and is barely paying to go to college, I can honestly say that this video is sooo accurate. They try to tell us that your SAT scores aren't everything but they are definitely important if you don't wanna pay for your education:) great video!
Omg why am I just now finding your channel? You are amazing and your positivity is just ughhh out of this world!😁 I loved this video. There is a lot of money out there for higher education and yes everyone can obtain it. I am currently a GA with an assistantship from the chemistry department at my school. They pay for my education and give me a pay check biweekly and I'll I have to do is teach a couple of chemistry classes on campus. I love it!
Coming from a current JUCO student, what she is saying is nothing but the truth. The most I've paid for tuition is $100.00. I will be graduation from my JUCO in May with a guaranteed acceptance to my top 4 colleges and an associates in General Studies. SB: I swear you're my new role model, I want to be an educator as well(eventually a principal). This video really popped up on in the nick of time. I know exactly how to make my dreams come true, thank you. Also, is GSU(state not southern) good for education majors?
Oh my God, thank you so much for being so real with us because I think we need to hear that at least one of us who has that motivation but is afraid of falling at the mercy of loans.
Aarón, than you I applied to a GA position at my school to work at the library. If it’s not at a library it will be some where else. I just want to thank you for sharing this information because It’s not common knowledge for all cultures and backgrounds. Girl, I don’t have kids but, I’m thinking about sharing this info with my nieces and nephews. And when I have kids I’m going to make sure their grades are on point in order to earn a high score in SATs so that they can go to school for free. Thanks again!
Awesome!!! Love your talk about being motivated!! It is amazing what opportunities you can create for yourself without having the burden of student debt. It is so true that you need to start as early as possible!!
Definitely adding this to my favorites! I've been researching grad schools all year. Mind you, I'm going into my final year of undergrad lol. I'm definitely someone who likes to research and plan (journalism major). Thank you for this information. I will be calling every office asking about assistantships.
+Anita Williams With a journalism degree you can work in different fields from PR, marketing, photography, and radio. You don't have to necessarily get a job at a newspaper. Out of all of the journalism majors in my department only a handful want to go into news. I am going to be an author and journalism gives me practice with writing and my communication/interview skills. Hope this helps. Good luck!
I am dragging my feet as usual about get my 4th degree (Master's) I really love school. Paying for it at times was tough. To me going online is super cheap for some reason.... no book fees. I had less expenses my last degree than I did my first two. There are so many tips out here, people want to pay for your tuition esp in certain fields. The information is out here. You are awesome for making this video!!! You go girl!
yaass giirrll! never take no for an answer! i wish i saw this in high school before i racked up my college and university debt! but grad school! i aint paying girl -_-
Girl you just put me onnnnnnnn. I will be pushing for that assistantship whatever that is lol 👏🏽 I want to go for my masters now and I’m 24 but I’m not going to let that discourage me
Hi I'm about to be a senior. I'm so scared because I did horrible my sophomore and junior year because of some family issues. I did great my freshman year and I'm hoping to do well my senior year. I'm scared my gpa will not be up to par. I was looking into the military but that's definitely out of the question because of my asthma and allergies. But this gives me hope. I'm not a great test taker but I'll study super hard for the SAT. Thank you so much 💜
So true! I worked at my community college while I was a student, and I received a scholarship to a university. Then I worked at the University and received a tuition waiver.
You're a boss!!! Congrats on your success and the pay off from your deligence and persistence. Very inspiring. Education is the key to a good life. Thank you
Sis I just came across this video as I was currently trying to decide what to do about my finances. GIRL!!!! This timing! Thank you so much, Love you girl! We need to catch up via email soon! xoxo
Yessss girl thank you for this video 👏🏼 Luckily, I haven't had to take out any loans during my undergrad & definitely do not want to take any out for grad school. I'm just like you in the sense that I do not want to owe all that money to whoever it is. It's not an option for me. So I really needed to hear this. Thank you!!
Just found your channel and I will definitely be subscribing. This video really inspired me to go after an assistantship and not give up on grad school. Thank you!
You inspire me to continue my grad school and because of your vids I'm badly wanting it now 👍 i just applied for grad school here in the Philippines and I'm currently waiting for the results whether I got the scholarship or not. Wish me luck! 😁
Girl LOVE THE VIDEO!!!!! you speak my language I did my undergrad for free also and i am going after masters for free to. Thanks for sharing keep the videos coming. Blessings!!!!!
my only complaint is that you can't just "do well" on thoes test. some people don't have the resources to take it again of they do bad, or to take the prep classes.
Thanks so much! I am in my 3rd year of undergrad and considering applying for grad school. I have stayed out of debt so far using Merit scholarships from my university, my department, and my state, as well as using grants and work/study, But I wan't sure how to go about paying for grad school. I will definitely look into doing an assistantship. I absolutely refuse to take out loans! I don't want to be another one of these people who is thousands of dollars in debt ofter college and can not find a job. I can do it! and if not I'll take some time off of school and save up.
I just got back into school after 10 years and am about to go to grad school soon. I just had a baby last year (2019). I’m definitely not trying to rack up any more debt after undergrad. I’m looking at fully funding programs and most of them have you do an assistantship. I actually want to teach so I’m hoping it’ll help me.
This video is very helpful I'm a ninth grader in highschool and I have my mind set on Hampton University but my family won't be able to pay it and I've done a lot of research and wondered how I was going to pay for room & board so thanks.
What if you had the grades but didn't receive a scholarship from ur competitive state university and ur too "rich" for financial aid but too poor to not to take out loans 😭😭😭. Lemme start applying for like a thousand scholarships cuz that's my only hope rn.
THANK YOU SO MUCH oh my god you're the best. i'm 22 and feel old as HELL. I'm going to go for it! I'm about to graduate undergrad and you motivated the fuck out of me 🤝🤝 thank you, Miss!
Thanks so much for this Aaron, I'm over here literally struggling and I'm one of those people that refuses to take out loans (that's dead) lol. This is more suited for graduate students but that's completely fine because I'm planning on going to grad school I really appreciate this video
Thank you Aaron for this info and nudge of inspiration to return to school. Unfortunately, I fell into the trap of loan prison some years ago and still have not obtained an undergraduate degree to compensate for it. I'm a handful (😉) of years older than you and I was getting to the point of thinking my dream of completing my education couldn't be done without another loan... So thank you again! U're awesome 😄
New subbie 💛💛I'm in the process of trying to get into grad school but I feel so unmotivated and defeated I'm nervous about the GRE and I don't have the funds to pay for grad school after taking out the max loans for ungrad ...thank you for sharing your experience it helped A lot!
I liked this video. I love helping people anyway you can. I'm applying to the masters at GSU and I will be teaching lower level bio labs so they can pay my tuition and give me a stipend...so you can also teach as a teacher's assistant. Thanks for the video girl:)
Thank you! One additional issue/benefit .... Those of us with ADHD (or maybe even ADD) can get free tuition in New Jersey. I can only say that I wish I knew of this years ago. ... GOD Bless!!!
Thank you. I don’t want to take loans and recently I thought I would just have to settle and take them. This video made me realize that I don’t have to. (Thank you.)
Hi Aaron! I've been watching you for a while now. I'm an upcoming Senior and I just got my SAT scores back and I have a 1130 on the New SAT. However, I have a 4.89 gpa, have taken college courses while in highschool, and I've got some really good extra curriculars on my resume, including owning a business. Based off of that, how good do you think my chances of getting scholarships are? BTW my mom is an AKA. I wanna pledge when I go to school but my dad is like nah lol thanks for you tips!
KyahByDesign well I recently graduated from high school and your GPA is outstanding because most schools are on a 4.0 grade scale and you surpassed that. and your sat scores are very high.. just apply now.to your dream schools and other merit based scholarship and you would be set. I hope this helped
THAT A GIRL! Stand up for your dreams, i love it. Im austrian and work here as an au pair, but want to come back to study here - lots of information and motivation, thank you! Especially that you said we're not old with 24..I'm 19 and I feel like I'm old when I have my bachelors degree with 25, cause I'd start september 2018.
I refused to pay for college. I'm about to graduate with my bachelor's without paying a single penny out of pocket. The same will be for the grand school. I plan on getting at least $250k salary and I'm retiring in my 40's.
This is so inspirational! Do you know if these tips work for medical grad schools, like pharmacy or dental school? I've searched the Internet and have even asked current med-school students and no one has heard of scholarships for these programs, other than small early-decision scholarships.
Hi my love! And I'm not sure about pharmacy, dental, or med school. I think for med school there are loan forgiveness programs like if you work in a low income area for 5 years after your graduate (the program chooses where you go) then your loans are paid for! I'm not 100% positive but that may be something to look into!
Thank you for sharing! You are lovely and dynamic. I just applied to grad school after 18 years of being out of undergrad! I’ve been accepted into a top school but am debt free and uninterested in the federal and personal loans. In undergrad, I did my lower division courses at a community college before completing my junior and senior year at a great university. Any advice on seeking assistantships, etc. if I am going to be an ONLINE grad student? Am I eligible for work study as a grad student? Thanks.
Great info, I have a son graduating in December and this will be a must for him to go for free. This mom thanks you......oh by the way I'm in my 50's and considering go to get my masters. I am bookmarking this video. God bless you Chile...:)
Loved the video! With your assistantship were you able to survive off of the stipend or did you have to work another job? If so, what were the hours of our assistantship and/or other job?
Thank you so much for this video! I'm starting college this fall and this really helped. My only question right now is if assistantship is offered for undergrad students as well. Thanks:)
I have clarification questions: Did you have to get into grad school first and then get an assistantship? Doesn't that mean you already had to pay some tuition before getting free tuition and stipends?
So I have a question that may be dumb so I apologize. I’m confused about starting at a junior college and then transferring to a four year.... is the tuition lower just because you’re a transfer student? How does this alleviate the cost?
my friend and me wants a scholaship but our mark is not very high because our country(BISHOFTU-ETHIOPIA)IS NOT IN piece so we want tell u that if u can give scholarship we can get a good grade.we like historys and we participate in many organization.please give this chance for as.
Assistantships doesn't mean you're going to school for "free." You give them your free time to work for them and they give you money. Not really different from getting a part time job and paying your way through school. When you say you are going to school for FREE... that means you literally have to do NOTHING but to sit there and receive funds. This is not your case.
Hello Aaron, I am actually trying to go to Georgia State also and for teaching also. What exactly is your masters in? And also how can I get an assistantship in teaching at GSU? I'm trying to for Spring 2018
I cant believe that you americans have to go trough so much just because you want to study! Here in France you just have to register yourself on school and here you go you are a student. Even if we have to pay for books and all, the maximum you will pay for college is like 500 € America really need to fix this! This absolutely NOT OK! and also sorry for my shitty english and sorry for donald trump.
meya600 loved this comment 👏🏽👏🏽
Your English is way better than my French!!
From the future: dont have to be sorry for Donald Trump, hes doing great 👍
This information is so inspiring! Thank you, I’m waiting for my admission decision for MS in Speech-language Pathology. I can’t wait to get in and start asking questions!

You're a lifesaver good luck. I just finished after 10 years. Also a mom of 2. You can
This video increased my hesitation about going to an HBCU. I didn't get a scholarship from the school and I'm still waiting for my financial aid letter from themand I don't think it's going to be that great. my only complaint is that you can't just "do well" on thoes test. some people don't have the resources to take it again of they do bad, or to take the prep classes.
very true! there are vouchers for classes and for SAT/ACT prep books. putting in the work years in advance is key
+TeAmoAaron that's true. the earlier the better

LOVE YOU!!! "handful of years" LOL
I'm super late to the party! I wished I had done this, but I can still share this information. You just got a new subbie!
Thank you so much, I'm going to college in 2018, and my school isn't really helping me but girl I know I can count on you 💪🏽😩💓
you're welcome babe!

+TeAmoAaron 😩😩 made my night! Continue to be amazing 💞
Thank you so much for this video!!! It was so helpful and extremely informative!
Mary Ja Thank you!
KyahByDesign letters of recommendation from teachers are everything
Bruh where were you two months ago during Early action season!!!
Thanks for the video!! I'm looking to do my masters so this was very needed.
YAY!!!
Thanks for the tips.i am a sophomore and it's getting close for planning to get those scholarships.
Love love love this video so encouraging as a rising senior in college
i broke my nails clicking this video!!!! thank you!
hahaha you're welcome!!
She said Bruh! 10 star video, on me
I wish I would have went to a community college for a semester or 2. I only want for summer schools
When do you take the GRE!?
This is so inspirational! Do you know if these tips work for medical grad schools, like pharmacy or dental school? I've searched the Internet and have even asked current med-school students and no one has heard of scholarships for these programs, other than small early-decision scholarships.
Hi my love! And I'm not sure about pharmacy, dental, or med school. I think for med school there are loan forgiveness programs like if you work in a low income area for 5 years after your graduate (the program chooses where you go) then your loans are paid for! I'm not 100% positive but that may be something to look into!
Thank you Aaron! I'll keep looking into those financial aid opportunities.
Can you do a daily routine for your hair because your hair exactly like mine 😊
got school loans and medical debt and still need a year left.
love your video!
Can international student study for free just as you did?
Thank you for sharing! You are lovely and dynamic. I just applied to grad school after 18 years of being out of undergrad! I’ve been accepted into a top school but am debt free and uninterested in the federal and personal loans.
In undergrad, I did my lower division courses at a community college before completing my junior and senior year at a great university.
Any advice on seeking assistantships, etc. if I am going to be an ONLINE grad student?
Am I eligible for work study as a grad student? Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this! It was very insightful!
I have six more classes to finish my BS degree and can't find any money to pay for it any suggestions would really help me out. Thanks in advance.
Great info, I have a son graduating in December and this will be a must for him to go for free. This mom thanks you......oh by the way I'm in my 50's and considering go to get my masters. I am bookmarking this video. God bless you Chile...:)
awww hiiii mama! lol. so happy this video helped you!!
Loved the video! With your assistantship were you able to survive off of the stipend or did you have to work another job? If so, what were the hours of our assistantship and/or other job?
i live at home so i definitely could live off of my stipend bc i don't pay rent
Thank you so much for this video! I'm starting college this fall and this really helped. My only question right now is if assistantship is offered for undergrad students as well. Thanks:)
i'm not sure if it's offered in undergrad you'll have to google a little bit and ask your specific institution. and thank youuuuuuu!
Alright then, I will do so. Thanks again for the response!
Incredible video; thanks so much 💜
what did you major in? and what schools did you go to? #ATLGeorgia
I have clarification questions: Did you have to get into grad school first and then get an assistantship? Doesn't that mean you already had to pay some tuition before getting free tuition and stipends?
Aaron thanks so much for this video it was really helpful...
definitely a life saver thank you 😭
So I have a question that may be dumb so I apologize.
Love it! Thanks for the motivation :)
hey great video! would you go to the specific department and ask them for their openings for assistantships?
yes ma'am i would!
What an awesome personality.
I know I'm late but what school do you go to?
