Love Sarasota so beautiful and very relaxing. Video is good but definitely only shows you where everyone goes - especially 1st time tourists who go to all the same spots.
Can someone please tell me how it works? I’m from Perth, Australia, and here we have 1 city in the whole state basically. Nearest one is about 4 hours by plane, so I don’t understand this (our state population is around 2.3 million, and our city 2.1 million). How many people actually live around there? I’ve googled the “city”, which seems small, but then there’s a city basically joined onto it, and then another. How many people would live in roughly a 1 hour drive radius? Thanks!
It's known for the world-famous Ringling Museum of Art, as well as a collection of excellent performing arts companies and an active community of artists and craftspeople creating unique works. Sarasota is also one of the best places to visit in Florida for a beach vacation.
My daughter graduated from the Ringling school of art. She is doing side work but I would like to find her more consistent work. Anyone need someone like this please reply.
A word of warning, If you try to go down to the water at one of the small parks on the way to St. Armands circle, be very careful walking on the square bricks near the waterline; they look like they would not be slippery, but they are slicker then snot on a brass doorknob; my wife and I are in Sarasota a lot, so I speak from experience.

I live in Miami, and I can tell you that Sarasota is a little piece of Heaven in the state of FL. I highly recommend to visit Anna Maria Island while you're there. The beach is absolutely beautiful, with clear waters and white sandy beaches ⛱ 😍

the best thing I did was move from this city nothing to do lilt jobs, I live in Hallandale Beach Fl which is close to Miami and Hollywood Beach Fl the night life is great it's a lot of jobs that's available and paying good.
Lived her majority of my life, was born in Sarasota memorial. Hard to find people born here, but it’s such a beautiful city, we gotta learn to share! 💛 I recommend sarasota to anyone out there! Amazing city.
You can walk to the beach but it would take a while. Theres the pier access which is nice. But take a trolley to the keys so you aren't walking in traffic. Sarasota drivers are the worst.
Honestly recommend the CadZan mansion and Ringling museum of art. Which also features the world's largest miniature circus museum. If down by O Learys downtown on the otherwise of 41, go on a sunset dolphin cruise on Le Barge the party boat.
you're gonna start out the video by walking into traffic. pro tip from a native floridian: there is a good chance they'll run you over and not even know it.
@@christinebrooke7292 yes, but if you watched the whole video he wasn't sure what the area was called that he was walking around and it was St. Armand's Circle. :)
This is my Hometown and I've spent the better part of 45 yrs here. If you looked up 'gentrification' on Google, you'd see a picture of Sarasota. Only come here if you have lots and lots of money. The commissioners only support ideas that the wealthy people want for example they stopped all the dedicated public bus routes to the beaches. And the bars and pubs can't have outdoor music past 10 PM because of the noise ordinance because the elderly wealthy condo owners don't want to hear the music and won't compromise. The traffic is horrendous and very dangerous whether you're a driver or a walker or a biker look at the crime statistics of Sarasota. It's unbelievable how many pedestrians are hit here! The nature and beaches are unbelievably beautiful but the culture of people is not so much. There is a huge divide between the wealthy and the working class. They want to be waited on hand and foot at the many unaffordable restaurants but they don't want to provide affordable housing for those workers (or bus service to local beaches!). Although I realize there are problems everywhere you go. And Sarasota will always be in my heart. I am grateful to have spent so much time here. But I am glad that I will be leaving very soon. I just wanted to share a first hand realistic viewpoint. It's just my own experience of the place...and how it's changed over the years.
@@MikeNapoli1989 Yes, that is true, you're right. Good point. And when a place grows and grows, so many issues can start happening like traffic problems. Thank you. 🌴
Raised my kids here....have been here 32 years myself. I know growth is inevitable but its sad, most of it. They don't talk about the crimes, the city is really segregated and the traffic sucks. I can't go to beach hardly cause working my a** off to pay bills. I work in social work and the homeless population is out of hand, no housing for workers like you are saying. It's disgusting.

Lived here 20 years, everyone I know has at least one rental house. They are making tons of money. Way better than the stock market!
Would you recommend renting a car or is it walkable?
Better then Miami area to live? (With young kids)

As a Sarasota Native, I concur wholeheartedly! The was the first thought I had!
Equip your camera with a stabilizer, you will make better quality videos. A video that the image jumps constantly when you walk gets on your nerves
Stop making these videos! It’s only making more snowbirds want to move here! 😂
Tell me about it lol 😂
The videos are Wonderful!! But they're not the reason... it's FL Governor🦸♂️ vs. The State of The Union🤡🤦🏽♀️

Not to be an ass but.... I am 38 and plan to move there, is Sarasota known to have more so "old people"???
Two women just got murdered on the trail there in downtown Sarasota in the last few weeks. Be very cautious
The "trail" is not downtown Sarasota. Per capita, extremely safe city.
NO! women are not safe to walk alone on the trail when they have not caught the serial killer.
It’s Siesta Key, not fiesta key lol. The beach there is even nicer than lido and it has much better night life.
