      Yup and I was one of them dumbazz mfers that called them lames because I thought I was better then them because I was sexually active by 12 and looked down on other boys for still being virgins or as I use to say scared of P**** but as a grown man I realize I was takin advantage of by an older women that I would have never touched and forced not to be scared of sex and I also realized the only reason why I got girls my age to give me there virginity was because I was a piece of shyt that had a attitude problem and a outlaw mentality then later on in life they ended up all telling me they were only attracted to me because I was a bad boy or in other words self destructive and they regret going after guys like me and I was never taught to express myself so I never got to the root of my traumas so I self-medicated with partying and messed up my life before it even started and I can say all those so called nerds probably live 10x better then me because their first experience with a girl was actually a girl they liked that liked them for positive traits instead of getting a girl that wants you because Chances are later on in life you'll be dead or in prison now I'm a 2x felon with nothing to lose and never had a child hood because my innocence was takin Early so my child hood is filled with regrets because I didn't have one thinkin I was a man but really I was just a traumatized lil boy that led the people that looked up to me down a dark path of emptiness but at least I was popular right😎😑🤦🏾‍♂️ if I could go back and hit them books and be a kid instead of going back and forth to juvenile adolescent homes for at troubled youth kicked out at 16 for thinking I knew everything on probation from 14 to 16 for truancy caught my first simple robbery at 16 was homeless alittle while later went to prison at 19 I was doomed from the beginning and didn't even know it I thought I was just having fun🤦🏾‍♂️

      Many of us came up during the rough drug/crack era and were the first to make it to college and corporate with hardly any help. Now these kids have social media and the internet...so what are these folks' problems. They don't need family matters you can google how to start a business etc and access successful folks. That means it's a choice and a culture to behave like a Glorilla or these O-block rappers, so yeah I agree, time to separate for that mess.

    Wise young brothers speaking truth. I am a older 50s generational Black man. That grew up in a 2 parent family home I have a library of books, there was pride in our communities in the decades before and after the great Civil wars. Even after reconstruction Era when we as a people had nothing, but we built a great family structure, and worked hard. Our music was soft and romantic, not vicious and filled with nasty and evil words towards our women. The early gang culture started in Chicago in the late 50s, but there was even strong respect their also. Detroit underworld players and hustlers and King pins had a street code, keep our children out of their business. then after the riots in major cities, and after Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X were killed, and after the 80s rolled away. a Sidious spirit came forward in the Drug game, America allowed Crack cocaine to roll up in the hood, zombie and drug out fiends, and wide spread prostitution came, but the racist media and greed record companies ok this music to pumped to our young kids, gang banging- and slanging in the hood, to be ghetto rich, these young children say wow it cool to be like this. Being smart and a nerd is thought to be un cool in the hood, but where the upper bougie elite people, telling our children no ? instead they hid out in their upper status bracket, and allow racist media to peddle death to our children, and tell young and gifted- Black children, you can only be a thug, sport star, and rapper to make in our communities..

    • @TheSecondAdam
      @TheSecondAdam Рік тому +5

      Facts. The black upper class was mostly invisible to me, except what I saw in the Cosby Show and some things I saw in Ebony and Black Enterprise magazines. I'm from Illinois and I imagined the Black college campuses and cities in the South had a better outlook and opportunity than the rest of us. The Black upper class comes from those HBCUs. But still, they did not have the dominant influence over Black America. Rap music and gang style subculture does. The church is also largely silent and hidden within their buildings.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective and experiences. It is important to recognize the historical and systemic factors that have contributed to the challenges facing many Black communities today, including the impact of racism, poverty, and the War on Drugs. While there are certainly negative influences in some inner city neighborhoods, it is important to resist sweeping generalizations that paint all Black youth or communities with the same brush. There are countless examples of successful and accomplished Black people across a wide range of fields, and it is important to celebrate and uplift these individuals and their achievements. At the same time, it is also important to work towards creating more opportunities and resources for young people in underserved communities, and to address the root causes of inequality and injustice.

  • @brianjackson5732
    @brianjackson5732 Рік тому +66

    It's not that simple. There are plenty of doctors and lawyers (like myself) who grew up in poverty and became successful. But, we are not celebrated. Instead, we are viewed as lames, squares and Uncle Toms because we value education and law abiding conduct.
    We cannot "catch you in school," unless you are talking about grades K-5. By the time you reach middle school, you need to have a basic educational foundation. To be clear, one does not need to know everything by the time one reaches middle school, but you must have learned how to process information/formulas, and know the basics of math and science. The white and asian kids are receiving these core skills because their parents are pushing it. That's how I (and people who run in my circles) made it, not because we were born any different from any other poor kids in the hood. The hero you describe must be your parents. Jewish kids are not successful because some athlete inspired them. Their parents did that. So, let's take pride in our successful blacks and focus on our kids' grades, not their ability to know the lyrics of the hottest song. Those are the seeds that need to be planted.

    Born and raised in inner city New Orleans. We were nowhere near rich, but my mom drove a Porsche. Dad had a sports car. Uncles had sports cars, BMW’s and Benz’s. I always knew all of that was attainable. They gave me encouragement as a kid. Put in the work, treat people right, you’ll be fine. 10 minutes from my neighborhood were neighborhoods off Lake Pont. Million dollar mansions, luxury cars, etc. I saw it. I believed I could get it.
    There were others near my neighborhood that were hopeless. Terrible parents. It really starts with your immediate surroundings. Those same people are still stuck at level 1. Blaming everyone but themselves or their families.

    To all my sisters and brothers we can fix all of the PROBLEMS we have as a people with one SOLUTION! That solution is UNITY point blank period! We are the most divided race in America. We all know the problems we have as a people. I say we focus on SOLUTIONS going forward for anyone taking the time to read this. If we don't unite as a people It is not looking too good for future generations of AA.
