I was one of the hubbards in the background - agree that Robbie was an all around nice guy, including on the road. He sat on the front of the group, had us all rotate through for a chat, and controlled the pace so we didn't drop folks, then invited everyone to coffee. Great recovery ride!
Nice. I've made it in life now that I've made it into a Maven vlog. Robbie was a top bloke. Chatted to everyone on the ride and over coffee after. Shame the Maven couldn't join us as well. It only rained for a few minutes!!
that was highly entertaining! great content, cool interview with Robbie, awesome creativity, great editing, keep up the great work. your becoming a bit of a film maker :)
Good to have u in NZ for da weekend Mark - missed ya at Taupo - must have ridden past ya when u slipped off Group 1a and trailed off off to Group 9 to vlog every 10 mins mate ! (Yeh nah :)) Glad u enjoyed Hautepe hill ( last big climb) - sweet country eh ? You should come back n next year and do the K2 cycle The Cranleigh K2 is the toughest one day cycle challenge in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also one of the most scenic and varied with the route traveling through sub tropical forest, pacific coastlines, rural farmland and the Puhutakawa coastline of the Hauraki Gulf.
That man Robbie could totally act like a diva and be standoffish if he wanted, but he's a really, really down to earth, nice man... really great to see that, just from the standpoint that so many pro level guys and wannabe pro level guys are such dicks...Robbie is all class...
Oh btw - K2 cycle race is 200km - with around 2400 total ascent metres of climbing - friggin awesome Scenery around Coromandel ....but it will put u in the pain cave after the first 60 :) great training - 28th October 2017 - cya there !!!
Last time I tried to film my bike X-ray at the airport (wanted to see the internal battery and wiring for Di2) they freaked out and said I couldn't - shouldn't even interact with the security guy....guess NZ is more chilled out....!
Yeah I did, but this guy was taking no prisoners! In any case it's against airport regs to interact with the person scanning your luggage as you could coerce him or divert his attention. But I guess the smaller the airport and the more distant from terrorism, the more relaxed they get....
Today me and some friends are gonna do a big ride! Please check out my channel and the vlog will be posted later! Let me know what you think of my current videos!
I have the same bag and the wheels are a pain. These bag designers should know that the bags are going to be dropped by the airport workers and susceptible to major damage. So frustrating.
Mark, can you PLEASE watch Rob Arnold's interview with Michael Drapac --- very insightful, a man who has pumped $30m into cycling in last dozen years... If possible please consider featuring this interview so more people can see this, Ride Media has 2000 subscribers you have 30,000 (or will have). Both you and Rob are part of the cycling ecosystem and are doing important work to benefit cycling worldwide and in Australia. Many thanks Horace
Ah Mark... I am hearing too much moaning about the weather & excuses for not training... Come on mate! There is no wrong weather... Just wrong clothing!!
How good is Robbie McEwen... Loved watching him race, working his way back through the caravan to take the stage in a blistering sprint. Legend!

Wow, this guy's won the green jersey 3 times and 12 stages of the Giro! Such a cool and humble guy!

Wassup cycling maven new Zélande from Montréal Québec Canada✊🚴🏻
Nice choice of ink colour for your pen Maven lol
get down to queenstown!
Robbie....cycling champ!
I love the airport security part 😂
Loving the NZ vlogs! By the way, when will the kit be back in stock?
but what kind of pen did you get? Black og blue ink? Or perhaps red?
Cyclespeed Tours chances are in the US the Maven would be vloging a cavity search if he approached the screener's monitor like that. Good Grief!

did you ask first? maybe thats the way to get them onside.

Cyclespeed Tours appears they were asking Mark what was what. So they interacted with him. America is probably very different haha

80 bucks for replacement wheels?! nahhh.... I'd go see if the hardware store had some for cheaper; probably higher quality too.
Cool story Mark! Yeowwww
Glad to see H make an appearance. Was starting to think she traded you in for a younger model. :-)
RM is da man
Sorry maven, I hate the casey neistat wannabee titles he/she bs.
To the one flog hitting the thumbs down .... seriously get a life. Can't be hating on beautiful NZ
I was going to buy that bike bag until I saw this
Nah it's a great bag. They cop a hammering in the airports so I'm not sure what the company can do... maybe retractable wheels?
my wheels fell off too! i went to bunnings and got a heavy duty set. good as gold since
ill take the cruelty free plate.
5th. Yeah Dawgs.
i have a pen

Hobbiton!!!!

Ah Mark... I am hearing too much moaning about the weather & excuses for not training...
