My second comment. Not only does Jill still the hell out of this song. Watching her face as she's singing is a master class in how to sell a number. All of the song's emotions are written on her face.
Oh god. Tears and tears. I want so much to go back to the time when she was a new actress "promising" She should have been a big star. In my book, "At Least."
A thrilling moment of theatre history. The incomparable Jill O'Hara aces the song she originated on Broadway 50 years ago. Brava, Brava !!!
Somehow the most beautiful, most heartfelt rendition of all the replacements and/or revivals.
Such an intricately complicated and magnificently emotional love song. Always beautifully rendered by Jill O'Hara.
What a perfect description!
This is a touching treasure. O'hara sang the best version of "Knowing when to Leave". Besides her great voice she sings the notes with the proper emphasis and tempo
What an amazing song and interpretation!
She's still got it!😊
I f*cking LOVE this song and the way Jill sings it. LOVE.
I started tearing up as soon as that piano started.
I had never seen Ms O'Hara before.
She looks like she could be the nice lady living next door but that voice is so beautiful.
She can still do it! It's a stunning, unusual song and I always wondered why it didn't go further outside the show. Jill's heartbreaking voice is perfect for it - but Streisand should have noticed this piece and recorded it.
Eben if her voice is a bit shaky now, Jill has always been able to impart this song's alternating hope, despair, anger and resignation and she delivers here.
This still makes me happy for the day of the old singers who can get it right.
Now thats how to put a song over. Still my favorite singer from any Promises Promises production. Pure emotion. Incredible.
I cried when I heard this! So touching.
Girl still has it...
Super terrific!
bravo Ms. O'hara.
The girl still has got it...
I just listened to this wonderful piece again. Jill is such a gift to broadway
She is Great.
Beautiful Voice.
Very good I would listen again
WOW!!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Still has talent, but often troubled.
What do you mean? Has Jill had a difficult life?
@@rr7firefly I hope she's had a very happy life. However, when I worked with her she was uncommunicative to the point of being rude. She did appear troubled.
@@krpbdp Jill O'Hara was not on the Broadway celebrity A-list. I do not mean that as an insult. What I'm saying is that even the most talented and tough-skinned people have to endure all kinds of problems and injuries because of the nature of the beast. And, as they get older, they often have an even tougher time commanding respect. A sensitive person can get very cynical along the way.
@@rr7firefly Did anyone really care what Leonardo did in his spare time? Didn't the work speak for itself? As for Barbra Streisand, et al, does anyone actually think she became a big star being nice? That's not what history recorded.
