Hey just FYI even the most expensive guitars can get fret sprout. I'm from Canada in the prairies and it gets extremely dry here in the winter and the wood on any guitar will shrink and swell with the changing seasons causing fret sprout and bad buzz or string height. I take my guitars in for setups and fret leveling somewhat frequently. They can get the neck really flat, this is how you get low action without too much buzz but they also take care of the fret sprout and make sure the ends are rounded nicely. A luthier or competent guitar tech should have the tools to do this for you and can honestly make a cheap guitar feel like it's worth way more.
I have to take the Fender Standard on this video to my tech as soon as I get home. It does have a nice neck and I love the overall feel of the guitar.
A guitar isn’t an investment. You have to be a collector that buys rare things and barely uses them. If you play a guitar and enjoy it. It’s not an investment. Buy things you love. Life is too damn short.
What I mean if is worth to spend this money based on the features. It is explained on the video.
@@stratoalex every guitar I’ve bought from fender or charvel in the last 3 years has needed help from a pro. Fret sprout. Fret leveling. Wiring not done correctly. At all price levels. Like seriously. We make fun of Gibson quality, but what the hell. They’ve definitely dropped the ball majorly lately. In the end the feature set vs the price is a choice you have to make. Some people are perfectly ok with owning a made in Mexico fender. Some people want the custom shop vos with closet relic. Some people love the Prs private stock. And the guitars are amazing. But I doubt you’re getting back what you spent on a Prs private stock. All I’m saying. Lol
@@MatthewFant The law of diminishing returns. Also that sucks that you had that experience with your Fenders. In my case this Fender Standard is from the 90s and has already had fret work. I am from the Caribbean and brought the guitar along to the continental US and I feel the change of weather made the wood expand.
