Swimming with FIVE Massive Manta Rays in the Maldives!

This was such an unforgettable moment. We were on a boat tour watching turtles, eagle rays, and sting rays go by, enjoying the salty air. Our guides light up all of a sudden, excitement in their eyes. There was a manta ray sighting. But not just one manta ray, there were FIVE.
It all happened so quickly and suddenly. They asked us if we wanted to swim with them, but it was now or never. We didn't hesitate. We geared up and headed to the edge of the boat, and jumped right in.
It took awhile to catch up to these beauties. The water was rough and it was hard to see. But one you catch up to them, it was a sight to see. The video doesn't do it justice. These creatures were magnificent. They swam around us, as we did them, constantly trying to catch up. It was such a beautiful sight.
We know we hit the jackpot when we were back at the hotel that evening. It was the talk of the night. By then everyone had heard about the five manta ray sighting. Even some employees that had been working there for awhile had yet to swim with ANY manta rays. And this was also the first sighting of the season. We were truly lucky and blessed to have experienced such a beautiful sight.
