I have to say the fact you are doing the older models like the bloodletters and demonettes makes me very happy. You are my go to for painting so thank you for all your work.
I cannot thank you enough for this. I really wanted to get some Slaanesh Daemons done but I couldn't really find good tutorials of Contrast for them online like yours for getting them how I wanted.
I was looking into getting a Slaanesh army and thought "Man I sure hope warhipster has video up for them because i loved his custodes and salamander videos" and i find one and its just 5 days old? perfect timing my guy.
I wish this video was around when I started painting Warhammer. My very first model was the Daemonette musician and it does not look anything like yours. Great job :)
I'm glad to see your channel growing. You absolutely deserve orders of magnitude more and I'd wager they'll come in time. Don't burn yourself out with a crazy upload schedule. I want to see you for years and years to come ;).
Once again I love your paint style and instructional videos, I think it would be nice if we see your paint area every now and again showing us how you mix and work from it, keep up the good work and hope to catch you again on your live stream, PS would you also be able to list paints used and mixes below for us to print out to follow your paint style.
thank you for making this tutorial - super well put together and super easy to follow - i fully intend on stealing this scheme on my next army Hedonites of Slaanesh. Any plans to do a video on Myrmidesh Painbringers?? I am sure most here would love it! subbed instantly
Thanks so much for Subscribing! I've got the Underworlds Slaanesh team to do which I think there's a Painbringer in there. I'll check. It's just a matter of time of which I constantly seem to run out xD
I dunno, I quite like the idea of it being some diaphanous perfumed silk, feels more excessive than a flayed skin banner, that seems more Khornate to me.
Hey Josh, with the New Codex Release i decided to start a Slaanesh Army and since i never used Contrast Paint. My New Project is: Use your Videos and try to learn using Contrast Paint 😉
Dude I asked about red capes the other day and you said you watch your storm cast stuff, your not wrong mate they look class exactly what I was looking dor
I'll say I am sorry ahead of time but I am going to ask a question that I may have asked before. What can you do to paint hard to get to places, beside "be very careful". I've glued somethings together and well I think I messed up any chance of painting those models. You deserve a lot more subs. I am very grateful for the contrast tips as well..
It's a thing about Hand eye coordination realistically. The key is to plan the angle of attack even if you need to look at it from a different angle. The other thing you can do on things like cloaks is use bristles to splay out in the hard to reach areas to cover more of the surface. Do this by coming in from the side and then pressing the side of your brush and kind of angling the handle around to move the paint about. Otherwise it takes practice and planning the angle of attack!
If you check out the Be'lakor tutorial I do demonstrate how to mix in there. I've also got a planned video for all the basics I'm just figuring out the best way to edit it at the moment!
Hey great master A few days ago i started my Hedonite-army - and now i am wondering, If there ist a Chance, to See you painting the Vanguard-Box from Slaanesh. Any chances about that? 😊
I did some Genestealers a long old time ago one of the very first videos on the channel and I've done a couple of Guard videos Gaunt's Ghosts, The Catachan Colonel and Sergeant Ripper Jackson. I'll do some more when the Imperial Guard codex is much closer to release I'm sure!
Contrast Medium is a paint that Games Workshop make. It’s basically a paint without any coloured pigment in it so you use it as a thinning agent instead of water!
Artis Opus is a brand of Brushes. They make super high quality high detail brushes which I use for all my tiny detail work. There are cheaper brands available though albeit with different build qualities. Essentially I use them for the small highlights and stuff to make it a bit easier to get at the edge highlights and whatnot
Hey Warhipster, it's me again... Quick question did you varnished your mini and specificly this daemonettes? What would be the best vanish style for them (mat/satin/shiny) and what brand? If you know... Thanks!
These look great? How did you get the skin to stay so consistent and well shaded? I tried the same and the skin came out patchy and the paint wouldn’t stop pooling
How on earth are you getting such a smooth finish all over the skin? I've tried 4 different Daemonettes now and they all look either scratchy or blotchy, nowhere near those you've done. I've watched your tutorial on how to use contrast paint, and following it as best I can, I really don't know what I'm missing...
Certainly Am! It might be a little while before I get to them though! I do have the Killbow Breakaboss and Vulcha is inbound imminently though so eventually!
@@Warhipster Awesome, I'm also waiting for my Vulture to come! ordered the other big beast too, When I originally bought the dominion boxset I was more interesting in the Stormcast but now I'm in love with the kruleboys aha
@@Warhipster thanks! I have to admit it’s not entirely original. I had the idea, found some on google, and I think I can do better. It’s way off on the backlog tho 🤷♂️

Wow, thank you! Plenty more to come!

Glad I could help!

There's more coming too! Keeper of Secrets and Contorted Epitome to name but a few!
Stoked you're doing older models. My pile of shame is greatful. Thanks.
You're very welcome! I'd love to get through the whole historical range eventually!
I wish this video was around when I started painting Warhammer. My very first model was the Daemonette musician and it does not look anything like yours. Great job :)
Thank you! Hopefully these videos can help new folks getting into the hobby in that case, Jonny!

Thanks Russ! I'll try to start incorporating some shots like that into videos.
Love what you're doing man. You're a great help to the community. You should paint the crimson court models 😉
Thanks! They're on my wishlist that's for sure!
Currently doing a Infernal Enrapturess this helped more than any of the other videos I have found
Beautifully done mate!
Thank you Russell!
Looks pretty good.

That banner really should be fleshy. I think the GW colour schemes really fly in the face of the lore.

Glad to be of assistance!
Can you please to a video now to paint shaxlii helbane.. as there is no videos out there.

Any tips or videos on how to mix contrast medium in with contrast paints?
I've been having a hard time with lighter skin tones, and I think I need to give contrast medium a try one of these days ^^
If you check out the Be'lakor tutorial I do demonstrate how to mix in there. I've also got a planned video for all the basics I'm just figuring out the best way to edit it at the moment!
@@Warhipster Thank you! I'll check it out!
@@Warhipster Just picked up some medium and gonna give it a try tonight. Think I got it!
@@Warhipster Ok I may have over done it XD Really messed up this light skin tone.
Light skin tones seem really hard with contrast paints...
How would you paint skin a bit darker? Like a Drow from BG3? Any advice on paints? Thanks!
Awesome videos dude, may need to have another look at mine again. What brushs do you use for edge highlighting? Keep have the tip of mine hook :(
Thank you so much! I use the Series M brushes from Artis Opus, they're a bit good like!

Would corax white primer work as well as grey seer with this?
Hi, you can Paint a Blood raven Primaris? LOVE you videos
I can. It's on the list of things to do! Unless someone sends me Gabriel Angelos. Who am I kidding I'll do both! XD
You also thinking of doing Imperial Guard or Tyranids?
Would really love to see him do Desth Krops of Krieg, for the Kill Team Boxset.

It's a comin' buddy! I've got the Kill Team Boxset in the to do pile
Hey, Im a Beginner. What does Contrast Medium mean?
And what is the artis Opus? Do I need more, then just the M & S Layer Brushes?
