  • Before The Wheel of Time was a middling show on Amazon Prime, it was one of the greatest fantasy series ever written. Come along as I rank each book in the series.

I agree with Gathering Storm being nr 1. That book made me feel more emotions than any of the previous books.

Perrin is BAE. I’ve yet to rank these but maybe I will now that I am doing a re-read(/listen). Can confirm revisiting the series is very satisfying! Book 12 is super high up for me too.

In "The Shadow Rising" when Perrin says "A Warder once told me Trollocs call the Aiel Waste 'the Dying Ground.' I mean to make them give that name to the Two Rivers," I just go 😍 fell in love that moment

Lord Goldeneyes is such an amazing moment. Honorable mention to “It’s just a weave, Egwene.” And the making of a certain weapon…🐺

Great ranking! I'm hoping to do a WoT re-read on 2024 and then revisiting my ranking

@@anotherbooktubechannelthat'd be very cool I've been through the series twice so far nd have been wanting to revisit it, my sister has been going through it for the past two years nd just started A Memory of Light:)
What are your thoughts on Amazon's adaptation? I thought S2 was a huge improvement but still with some minor nd major flaws to the storytelling. Overall though a fun reimagining of book 2 The Great Hunt

@@chrissleeping65 I'm still in the middle of S2, haven't been watching it with much urgency honestly. S1 was...rough to say the least. S2 has definitely been an improvement as a TV show. As an adaptation, that ship has sailed. But it has least become an enjoyable TV show.

@@anotherbooktubechannel I feel all that, I have a feeling that S3 will be the final season. Hopefully we'll get another adaptation within our lifetime. Such an amazing book series, one of my all time favorites, slog and all.

if new spring is the prequel book can you read it before the first book or after the 14th book?, I don`t see rereading books when it take you say 4 month to get throught all 15 books then if you reread it would take one another 3 months when one has other books to read, if you reread books you can be be wasting time reading other books so I do not see the sense in it.

I would recommend reading New Spring after you finish the main series. Even though it's a prequel, the impact of it won't make much sense without the main series as context.
I think rereading books offers a lot of value, ESPECIALLY for a series like this. When you're going through this for the first time, there are so many little details that you miss because you don't quite know yet what is or isn't important. On a reread though, I'll be able to fully appreciate every detail which will only enhance how much I enjoy the series already. Plus, I don't think it's ever a bad thing to spend time reading something that brings you great joy. To each his own, really. As long as you are enjoying what you read, I don't think it matters of it's a reread or not.

New Spring was written after book 10, so that would be a good time to read it, but honestly any time after about book 6 would be good. But definitely not first.
