The age factor is a very real thing. I think if they bring Shelly back a year later, she absolutely destroys the competition and sweeps every event
I’ve seen a couple 11 year olds win the gold against 14 year olds
Shelly would’ve face planted on that jump, if they hadn’t caught her.
So much about 90s shows is so raw and real. Mistakes made, slapping their own butts but not in unison, along with a multitude of other things. They just let it go and I love it.
They also had a lot of snow behind the scenes lmao. Not saying that was necessarily a bad thing
I never would have guessed watching two dudes watch Guts would be the most anticipated video in my subscriptions. What a time to be alive.

Rusty's performance in the pool definitely ruined his life. His friends mocked him mercilessly. His dad was ashamed of him, which drove a wedge between the parents and ultimately caused their divorce. Rusty hit the bottle hard, moved on to hard drugs when he fell in with a bad crowd. All because he didn't have GUTS.

Until he turned his life around. While living on the streets, he noticed a stroller rolling toward traffic after getting away from an aunt with weak ankles. He showed his guts and saved the baby. He is now in a highly competitive internship at a Forbes 500 company.
I was worried we weren't going to get a Guts this week. This has become one of my regular weekly watches. Great entertainment guys!

Fun fact: the ref Moira Quirk went on to voice acting. One of her performances was Karliah in elder Scrolls skyrim. She legit didn't realize that she was in the game until her commenters pointed it out in her UA-cam comments.
Having watched Guts since I was a child, I played XCOM: Enemy Unknown for years without figuring out Doctor Vahlen was Mo.

The points in the Aggro Crag are seperated by 175 points, so if a player is in first place by 200 points heading into the finals, all they need to do is get 2nd and they are guarenteed 1st place. Also, if a player has a 400 point advantage on a player, there is no way that they can then finish in last place.
We saw last week a runaway going into the Crag.

Rusty in the Pool event was the biggest disaster in Gutz history. He took more than 3x as long to finish the pool than Heather. We've seen some shit go down on the obstacle course but over 3x as long as the winner?
Heather took the aggro crag way too chill, but she won so i guess she knew exactly what she was doing
Point Shaving. I had an Uncle who knew a guy who was friends with a guy that once watched a guy who heard of another guy who made millions betting on Guts.
I haven’t laughed harder then watching Rusty get stuck in the corner of the pool in a long long time. In absolute tears.

I was so hoping Shelly would win. I could tell she was pissed after the football one. The point system of giving first place points to both top contestants if they tie in an event screwed her. She should have at least gotten 2nd place points in that event.
A tie for first should be 250 for each (since 1st and 2nd is 500 total) and the 3rd place person gets 100.

Jake and Jimmy are always tricked by the contestants who stretch in the entrance. There's no correlation of stretching to being a better contestant. If anything, the ones who stretch are worse

HUGE surprise with Shelly. She was a clear #3 from the opening lineup but nearly beat someone who had 3 years and a foot on her. Rusty is like that 5-star recruit that just never lives up to their potential.

Mike O malley looked so familiar the first time I watched this. Now I remember. He played the FAA investigator in the movie Sully. Im sure hes been in a bunch of other stuff I forgot about as well.

Mo really kept messing up the scores at the end she made 3 or 4 mistakes. First she incorrectly give Shelly the win from bad maths the the final leader board is shown and Mo at 24:57 says Heather at in first with 5550 Points when Heather actually had 1550 points. This episode wasn't Mo's finest moment but she's normally great.

20:25 Jake was correct, with a 3rd for Heather and a Rusty 1st he would have won 1425, to Shelly 1350, and Heather 1325.
Probably the closest final which all three kids had a reasonable chance. Definitely not the flashiest episode, but some solid stuff in there. The new events were a nice change of pace; that boat event is brutal for any kid, savage of the show to make them do that.

Gotta feel sorry for Rusty getting crushed by 2 girls in the boat race. Heather beat him by 46 seconds, she could've done 5 laps in the time it took Rusty to do 1. I don't think I would've competed against 2 girls. It's a no-win situation, because if you beat 2 girls big deal, but if you lose, you have to live with getting beat by girls. Side note: The camera work is probably the worst I've ever seen. Clearly these are not professional camera guys.
