The person using tegaderm is doing it in a much slower manner. Is is intended!!!
So true! Its like they want tegaderm group to lose. I personally use tegaderm for probe sterlity and it takes less than 20 seconds to apply. These guys are just biased towards the sponsor i guess.
Here's the challenge - record the 1) Tegaderm application and 2) Probe cover of your choosing and report back in a video. ;)
@@crazypcguy And with Tegaderm you'll always have one non-steril hand while using the probe, right?
@@nysoravideo And with Tegaderm you'll always have one non-steril hand while using the probe, right?
The individual applying the tegaderm reminds me of the actors in the old Snuggie commercials that are utterly befuddled by the impossible task of using a blanket
Lol. Indeed. It can be particularly tough to remove it after gell application when everything is slippery!
I don't know if there is any conflict of interest in the video, however, the Tegaderm person does it very slowly and generally, the transducer does not need to apply gel beforehand since it prevents it from sticking properly to the transducer, it is placed dry and the gel goes on the patient.
To protect the probe, it is very important to put gel between the probe and the cover!
En el Hospital Evita de Lanús, Buenos Aires, Argentina usamos film de cocina. Saludos desde LATAM !
Brilliant!!!!
😂
Y yo pensé que lo nuestro era lo máximo.
Does it come with Dulce de leche? ;) Greetings!
Although there is a clear conflict of interest for this video... it is intuitive that a complete cover has better sterilization
I'll be honest: when they gave us the ECOGRAPHS, we requested the covers. They gave us condoms!!! So it occurred to me to use sterile plastic bags and secure them with a rubber band to the transducer and use a surgical gown sleeve for the cable. Now recently and upon seeing our “invention” they have provided us with the covers. I hope it serves as a lesson to everyone: nothing stops us from learning!!!
Well said! But yeah, people have returned homes with condoms accidentally brought from work. It can cause some cross-examinations by your spouse who may find them in your pockets...lol Greetings
@@nysoravideo That's weird !!! It means that they do not change their clothes to return home, bringing possible infections home.
How much is Tegaderm vs dedicated probe cover
Prices vary. Tegaderm is about $1-$1.5. Probe covers are about 4x more. However, the point is that Tegaderm does NOT provide any protection beyond the surface of the probe. So, the probe head, cable, hands/gloves, and ultrasound machine are not protected from cross-contamination.
My opinion.... must cover it completely including the cable. We have consider that this device in a day use is literally a bacterial zoo. Not to cover the probe it's the same as not desinfect our hands previous to an sterile procedure.
In relation to the video of whoever does it the fastest, they should make a multicentric one. If it is done by those on the same team, perhaps there is bias or it could be considered on purpose.
Indeed. Possibly. But removing the paper around the Tegaderm can be a pain. Especially AFTER the procedure when it is all gooey with gel, and slippery. Greetings!
It’s totally biased!
He was doing Tegaderm in a slow motion way.
I thought when I subscribed to youtube premium that I’ll not see any adv, but it seems to be not working.
Heh, you put a regular sterile glove on the sensor + not a lot of gel in it = cheap and cheerful and fast.
Ok
테가덤 일부러 늦게까는거 개킹받네
Great comment!
What's the level of evidence. Consensus guidelines only cover the probe, not the whole cable. It seems more like sponsored rather than evidence-based.
