Webinar celebrating Mrs Eleanor Coade and the restoration of her seaside villa, Belmont in Lyme Regis originally presented exclusively to the Landmark Friends on 23 February 2022
Very interesting and excellently narrated presentation. I only knew of the lion on the former London Brewery on the South Bank. I had heard the recipe for Coade had been lost for years, glad to hear it is still available albeit not exact. Thank you.
what an erudite and delightful assessment of the Coade phenomenon. I first learned of it at Bryanston but had no idea how extensive and important Coade was throughout Britain
She was intentionally memory-holed because her story completely upends all the narrative of the feminist movement. Like CJ Walker, Eleanor Coade shouldn't be able to exist, and her story has to be shunted aside lest it awaken people to the deception.
Marvelous unsung woman
