Is there scientific evidence that a “cocktail” treatment has halted the “bug”, or that a textile face mask provides any protection when worn over stubble? There is a body of research, including studies from Australia, indicating that the protective effect may be limited. However, hand hygiene has been consistently shown to be effective. Additionally, some Australian research suggests that after receiving 2-3 booster shots, the immune system may be less capable of providing protection.

The Christmas card "return" that John spoke about really resonated with me. Some years ago, it hit me hard that I had given Christmas presents to 15 people and got no presents at all from anybody. I love buying gifts for people, and I never have given gifts just to get gifts, but it was an epiphany to realize that I didn't mean the same thing to them as they did to me - that the balance in our relationship(s) was way off. So I stopped. It is painful to not exchange birthday or Christmas gifts with family and friends, but I needed to "stop the bleeding" and learn to find peace and joy in myself. I know that I need to choose to be joyful, and that may mean not "throwing myself under the bus" over and over again. Thank you for this program and Happy New Year!

I am on the other side of this in that I have an aunt who loves buying presents and my parents would stress every year at what to get her because she has everything or if it's a piece of jewelry or something that's personal and she may not like it. Each year and they'd say to her please let's stop with the gifts, or donate to charity instead, or just spend the quality time together. But she wanted to do the gifts so they're still stuck in it. For me that's not what gift giving should be about but we do get stuck in these roles at Christmas and/or birthday time. But it's wrong to just let someone keep buying you stuff and not reciprocating and not asking them to stop. ❤️

I had that same epiphany many years ago. I love giving to others, moving forward I still give but in a different way. Throughout the year if I see something that I thing a loved one would enjoy, I get it and give it right then. This process gives me joy and the person receiving the gift joy as well.

I left my husband of 6 years because I felt as if we were going in 2 different directions. This happened last year in Ju. In Feb, I lost my dad, and then in May, I lost my son. He never helped to comfort me with their loss. He even said the next morning after my son passed, he said, "Stop your balling, and get over it." It was then I had that stop the car and get out moment. It was so difficult to make the choice to leave, but in July, I did, and he had a new girlfriend in a week. I guess he really didn't want me. So I've embraced my spiritual gifts, completed my reiki, and now I'm a master reiki practitioner, and I have started my own holistic healing business. I have been clearing out since last year clearing out things.

Came back too early because I didn’t have leave left and no FMLA because I hadn’t worked enough hours that year. Where do they think I got my back problem from? Went back and they had replaced me a week after I had surgery. I talked to manager about when I was coming back and she said Great ! Never a word about changing positions. Still very unsteady on my feet so not able to do what I usually did. Did they care? Not a bit. And this is a clinic that cares for underserved people. What a joke. I’m wasting away to nothing. And my death is approaching idk when. It’s directly related to the X-rays taken during trauma patients care that at the time I was exposed to. Now I think, I saved so many lives and helped people transition if we couldn’t save them. What have I done to deserve this. Haven’t I done enough good to have a long healthy life. John is absolutely right about the way that the Healthcare system has taken advantage of us Healthcare workers AND the patients. Healthcare IS a business and has taken the care part out of Healthcare.
John has ABSOLUTELY described what is going on. I am a retired RN and got out 5.5 years ago, before Covid. I retired because of personal health issues and also due to burnout, lack of respect, having 18 yr olds telling me how to do my job, etc. Remember, be kind to nurses; we keep the doctors from accidentally killing you...and we also have the magic finger that gets your pain medication !

You’re right. The care of my grandfather and even my father received is drastically different than what my brother is receiving. He actually had a nurse practitioner do hisabscess from shotty repair to his spleen as a result to another messing up his simple surgery. he’s been in the hospital and out of the hospital with multiple drains he’s lost so much weight he looks like he’s dying and we believe he might be. Nobody claims to be entitled to awesomeness and healthcare but the system was built over the years and years and yes good people are entitled to good care. They sure want to charge enough for it and then claim they’re broke. And the reason that broke is because of Obamacare which could’ve been prevented and they all said this was gonna happen because government cannot do anything right remember that. The problem could’ve been solved by lowing cost the same way we do anything in any industry is by allowing insurance companies to compete in different states which we do not do right now. When the market is competitive people save money and ultimately that is how you build industry even if that industry is healthcare. You don’t get the government involved who is slow to pay and won’t pay a certain amount. You let the insurance companies fight it out. But because they are not competing in different states they get to determine everything how much everything they’re gonna pay how much you’re gonna have to pay which is a lot and it just goes on and on.
By the way I took care of my parents. I never let them go anywhere because it was me and my honor to do that and I miss them so much

I was a friend or family member. And the last 2 1/2 years were the worst and I was the most afraid. But I'm still here and it's not because of the Doctors. It's because of the Nurses and Respiratory Tech's. Those are the people who made sure that I was getting everything I was supposed to have. And who had to Ventilate me two different times and keep watch over me. They're the ones who heard my name as the person coming in by Ambulance. And knew exactly what they're going to need to have ready for me before I was in the door. They're the ones who kept me safe and away from the COVID danger, when I had to be in the hospital right in the middle of it all.. And I'm so angry at the way our Health Care Provider's are being treated and disrespected.. And were being called (Heroes) by the Media Machine.. But being Unappreciated and Belittled by Head Staff Members at the same place they're trying to save lives from something no one had a clue about.. I've got nothing but Respect and Appreciation for every Health Care Provider and Field Paramedic around the World. And anyone who's doing or saying crap to or about these Care Givers. I kinda went through the same thing learning about my friends. A great Teacher asked me once, how many friends I had?? I was 22 or so at that time!! He asked if I was able to count them all on both hands yet?? I said of course I can count them on both hands, and all ten toes, with a chuckle!!! I thought I had about 45 good friends!! Well he proceeded to teach me the difference between friend and acquaintance. He said all those 45 are not true friends. True friends are the ones that come say goodbye on your death bed.. I still said yes and stood up for my so called friends.. So, He asked me to stop throwing the parties.. Stop buying the supplies and supplying the venue.. So I agreed, that for the next 30 days I didn't reach out to them at all.. The ones that called me to see how I was doing and if I wanted to come over and kick back, or maybe throw some stuff on the grill and have dinner together.. People that were interested in my well being!! Those I was allowed to count. At the end of 30 days we'll have this discussion again to see what transpired.. So I waited, and waited, and waited. Not one of those people ever called to see if I was even alive any longer..
And to this day, I've never called them back either.. I was blown away totally.. Devastated really!! People will use you up for everything you have. When it's gone,Their gone with it!!
It was a rough lesson to learn as a young guy in his social prime.. 45 yrs have passed since that day.. I can only count my true friends on one hand now..l.

I actually ran down my hall to the front door and outside, expecting that she was walking down the street, she was that solid, that real.

One thing not mentioned was they continually took us out of our positions and put us in positions we have not trained for. Hugely stressful when you are responsible for people and not trained in the specialty and are on a strict timeline. Also, he is right about the Non-Profits in Medical who pay themselves huge amounts of money at the top that does not have to be published so the public does not know where their donations go; they go to management and non-profits are not taxed. Huge scam.

100% Correct. I've been in Healthcare since 1978. It has gone corporate. Corporations have ruined healthcare. People are dying bc they are poor and no profit in their care and Nurses are not trained across all specialties yet are asked to step in areas they are not familiar with. Corporations Do Not care! No matter how hard Feds try to prevent medical billing theft it goes on. Insurance Companies steal by denying care and running good healthcare professionals away.
Healthcare like Education does not Pay well. As a single person with a degree you cant qualify for home in a bad area in most cities. No hospital can function without Nurses. America has no respect for healthcare workers or teachers. The good ones who try to stay are exposed to people who go into fields to get a steady check not a calling.
Bad care happens if the wrong people go into healthcare.

Take his vitals and ask him the questions he needs to answer . On top of that, they were expected to act as waitresses for me and that angered me. I began bringing cola and food in with me so that wouldn’t happen. Each nurse would offer me coffee every morning because patient families are no longer allowed to get it themselves . So unfair.

Hi. I am a retired Respiratory Therapist. Worked nightshifts for 12 years. I liked the 12 hour shifts, but again it is the work load. You can only do so much safely. The benefits we had weren't to bad but changed over the 12 years. Also we had lousy benefits. If you were sick or in the hospital you had to take vacation time. Then if you called out a certain amount of time, you got fired. Here a story that I know personally happened about 9 years ago to a nurse working at the same place. She was calling out a lot because of a bad shoulder and then headaches. She got a warning not to call out anymore or she would be fired. She called out because her headache was so bad. Then ended up in the ER. She had a tumor in her head. Had surgery and was ready to come home. Needed one last cat scan for discharge. She died on the cat scan table. The place I worked for fired her so her family did not get her insurance. The insurance that pays the yearly salary that she earned. It is really sad that health care workers are not respected by their employers.

To ALL Nurses out there…. I am one who TRULY AND DEEPLY appreciate EVERYTHING you do giving of yourselves! I was in a serious car accident at age two and I’m about to be 54. I had a very serious head injury and had to learn to walk and talk again and have suffered debilitating migraines throughout my life but if it weren’t for a Nurse who happened to be at a bus stop nearby that day I nor my Mother would have lived! Sadly and devastatingly we did lose my two month old brother. The little guy had already made it through meningitis in his tiny little life only to be taken in the accident and though it is still ver painful, I’m happy for him to have transitioned on to somewhere much better than what has become a very scary world! Needless to say I spent a tremendous amount of time in the hospital afterwards and off and on through the years but in that time my dream became to be a Registered Nurse. What kept me from that was ironically the fear of possibly having to care for sick and injured children but I did go on to become a Professional Pet Groomer and in that I was also trained as a Veterinary Technician and I was able to be a Nurse to animals so I’m extremely grateful that I did get to work in the medical field after all and I absolutely loved every minute of it! 🫶🏼🙏🏻 🩺❤️‍🩹

i'm a professional working psychic medium and I agree with John in "evaluation" and cleaning out because yes, things do have energies. some things have energies of what no longer serves us in a positive way or belongs in our lives anymore. In clearing out, we open the space and energies for new and positive to enter. I had already started feeling and putting into motion before we hit 2023 of the evaluation of my life and all things in it including people. I learned decades ago that it is okay to let go of people who are not right for our lives in moving forward in the positive motion.

Realize that we all have the ability to ‘know things’ but most people don’t work on developing this given skill but think about what it is you want to know first. I have asked for direction in my life from my spirit guides or as some say angles, those who assigned to watch over each of us. Knowing when someone might cross over isn’t a comfortable thing for me so I choose to not see or hear this information again. You get to decide what you want to do with this ability should you decide to develop it. John speaks to those on the other side as have I but he’s developed this skill better than myself. All the same it’s there and I know this, I’ve spoken to people on the other side but they are those I already know. He can speak to people he doesn’t know, that’s quite special. It’s not he got something you or I was deprived of, it’s a thing he wanted, practiced, and is able to do and if you want that enough and work on yourself, you can do this too. Have faith in yourself! Listen to your heart, hear the voices speaking to you when they do. Pay close attention to this and remember what you were told when you see it start to happen, feel it coming, know it’s going on. We’re all special in this way in the eyes of our chosen Deity, the same one each person of faith knows is there for us all when we need them.

I loved my career but always frustrated that I couldn't do my best because of the number of patients assigned to each nurse. It is so unrealistic to assign one nurse 4 to 5 critical patients. Even if they are stable to a point, anything can happen at any time . And it does! More often than we want to admit! ONE nurse can not handle 2 patients "Crashing" at the same time. And when you are desperately calling for assistance ......... There is no one to come!!! You run from one to the other while a doctor is calling out orders on both!!!! In these departments it is seldom an RN actually get to eat!! It's a quick hand wash and a bite or two and right back to the patient. And going to the bathroom? Hours in between! When you finally get a minute it hurts to urinate because you held it too long!!! In many places the financial compensation for these RNs have risen to a more reasonable amount, but sometimes even now it isn't enough!! Nurses burn out . Staffing really is a problem.

Nurses are the frontline, for sure. My eyes were opened forty years ago when my newly graduated sister became an RN on the night shift. HER eyes were opened in a big way just days into her first job. She related the work load they were handed and, more importantly, the responsibility of
patient care. In the ten minutes the Drs. see their patients nurses often have to relay to the Dr., in a very softball and political fashion, that the meds they proscribed either aren’t working, they are at toxic levels or have been prescribed in tandem with meds that patients are already on and the dual meds can cause major Issues, including death. Nurses have to walk on eggshells because SO many Drs. have God Complexes. Sometimes, no matter how hard the nurses advocate for their patients Drs. won’t allow that they have made mistakes. Patients die because of the systemic ego driven care system.
Please do strike. You owe it to yourselves, foremost, and to everyone subjected to stress filled, God Complexed, sleep deprived patient care.

I have been a nurse for 40 years! It has completely changed!
Yes- no food, no bathroom breaks, no anything breaks.. and you have to be a clone to manage everything that happens all at once constantly...
And nobody gets it- not administration, not patients. All the money goes somewhere else... who knows? And patients are sicker- multiple comorbidities. Fewer patients would be better but it will never happen. 12 hour shifts?? Nothing good about it . Dayshift 7A-7P is horrendous and night shift is exhausting: the first day you work you worry you won't be able to sleep so you don't and the day you are off you sleep all day because you worked the night before. Sorry- you never adjust. Never.
Older nurses all seem to have bad knees, bad backs, lack of adequate sleep can increase chances of dementia .....all kinds of health problems..
It is not a good life. Mostly thankless.
I know, I have done this for forty years. But why?
My patients all seem to ask when I will be back... they worry that I won't be their nurse the next day.. Somebody told me, " Oh, none of the other nurses told me that or taught me about this...."... or " You are funny- you should be a stand up comedian.., " ( a lot of people say that which surprises me..)

Thank you for extending to me another validation that I don't have to be with people who demonstrate hostile behavior. I am thriving since settling the boundary and I feel like I have given myself a gift.

John, I am a 78 year old man in very good health, but, in Nov. last year I fell & broke my right hip & was hospitalized for 15 days. Even though I had been out of the hospital for 45 days my goal for Jan & each succeeding month was to fully recuperate as I am by myself & have no one else to help me or that I can depend on. At the end of each month this year (2023) I have looked back at the preceding month & determined how far I had progressed which has been phenomenal & the physical therapists that were working with me released me about 1-1/2 months early. I owe this to my faith in God & my determination to recuperate, I thank God each day for helping me & giving me the will to succeed

I just went through the experience of a 61-year acquaintance (friendship) by attending her funeral. Our spirituality was totally at odds and never comfortable. I now feel free. Unencumbered. At ease with my beliefs unsullied by negativity (on her part). However, I shall remember the good times that we shared, mostly with my children. I am at peace. Thanks, John

“They don’t want you, the person, they want you, the concept”
    Underrated line of the video.
Man did I experience this first hand with my last relationship.

I was an RN for over 30 years. I finally had to quit because of my spine deteriorating and the onset of severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. You wouldn't not believe the people who approached me , wanting me to care for their loved ones . When I told them I could do no lifting and I charged this much per hour sitting with people they got very indignant and said they figured I wouldn't mind since I wasn't working and had nothing to do !!!!!!! I have plenty to do! I have family I want to spend Holidays with since I had to work all those Holidays for years! I have a couple of hobbies I want to spend some time on when I was too exhausted to do when I worked! I want to sleep in mornings and stay up late if I want! I want to go take care of myself now since I had no time for myself when I worked! Yes, I loved being a nurse but I am no longer able to do that job!

I don’t know how I came upon your podcast but this is what I really needed to hear. I retired from nursing in 2020 when Covid hit. You are so spot on how nurses are treated before covid during covid and after covid.

I so loved the analogy of "stopping the car, and telling them to get out, because you aren't going in the same direction" anymore. I am going thru that right now with family. They don't get my direction and they don't want to get it either. So, for my own self care, I am going in a different direction and I stopped the car, for them to get out. They don't get it, of course, but I know this is what I am doing. I have to do it for my own mental health. Thanks for a great video. I used to watch John Edward on his show and always loved to hear him talking to others, helping them see what is in their life they need to work with and on.
