after u keep saying they’re athletic, i suddenly remember sunghoon being a former professional figure skater for almost 11 years, heeseung playing basketball before, jungwon doing taekwondo for 9 and more years, and jake being a soccer player
And niki dancing for so long is another form of athleticism

The other boys in I-Land were also former athletes/athletic! I think this is BH's strategy because athletes come with a sense of physicality, endurance, and mental discipline to begin with, so it translates really well to idol life. Idol life is as demanding as being a pro-athlete.

The fact that they are young, their youngest is Ni-ki he is 15 years old and the best dancer in the group he memorized hard choreos in minutes. They are true great performers.

@@ElliottNewVillage Ni-ki back in I-land was the first one to memorize their choreo in their first test. He was also part of the team who performed HIT in front of SVT perf team and they memorized it just for 8 hours.
Don’t forget Niki was also one of SHINEE’s backup dancers in Japan before joining I-land.

I've watched this multiple times and I have never noticed that Heeseung steps on Jay's foot. Dancers' eyes are indeed sharp!

So the Leader is Jungwoon (white hoodie) and he is the second youngest member, which is very unique cuz usually leader is the older member

@@funtunganbajna3349 Yeah, it isn't since RM and Soobin aren't the oldest members in their respective groups. It is unheard of to have someone from the maknae line be the leader though
Well Jungwon and Heeseung are the candidates for the leader position but since Heeseung is the oldest and the main vocal he can't have that position because it can be too much responsibility for him so the company talk to him about this and then he decline the position.
@@sableisabelle also, jungwon is only 16 making him the youngest leader in the industry, both rm and soobin became leaders when they were 18
Enhypen has everything honestly they performed on MAMA only 6 days after debut and performed on The Fact Awards and won their first Rookie award 13 days after debut, you can tell by their choreo and performance charisma that they're here to take kpop by storm.

The performance director is Doobu, and I think they are also trained by Son Seungduk (choreographer of BTS and TXT) since he's like their mentor during I-Land. I get seungduk's vibe from them. Lmao

I don't know if many people noticed but Ni-ki, their youngest member (at 15!) and main dancer, does two spins at the bridge before the final chorus while everyone else does one and I just find it amazing how he's always doing two without losing his balance in any kind of shoes for all their performances (I guess it's the ballet experience he has)

Also shoutout to Sunghoon (guy in the middle on the oh-oh-oh part) who used to compete professionally on figure ice skating and has great dancing background. Also Ni-Ki performed in Shinee's concerts when he was younger, he is a tremendous dancer.
Whats makes it more amazing for me is the fact that not only they're so young, age ranging from 15 to 19 y/o but also the fact that they're initially being programme to compete with each other during ILAND and once been selected as debut members they have to re-programme their mindset to be in a team, to be able to build the dynamic among members
They only have like what, 2 months plus (?) to learn all these choreos, record new songs, preparing for their debut.
Imo that's enough to tell how talented they are.

You really have good eyes for detail, most other reactors missed the part Heeseung stepped on Jay, but you noticed it. Heeseung usually does not spin on that part but here he did so maybe it affects their formation.

I don’t have anything to say that the other comments haven’t already covered but Ni-ki’s dance break at the TMA awards was insane and the group performed at MAMA with a different dance break as well (plus the ice skater Sunghoon in-line skating) so they’re totally worth watching on your own time

Love the video! I don't if anyone commented this already but the hand gesture that you asked about, in their concept it just represents that they are entering a new world. In the beginning, the fingers are actually closed and at the end it opened, I'm not too sure, I saw it somewhere!
The motif they showed at the beginning and at the end isn't actually their sign. It's just for this song that they use it.
Also, yeah they are pretty athletic. Fun fact: One of the members was a taekwondo player, another played soccer and one was a figure skater who competed for several years before debuting in enhypen.
the one wearing a white shirt and black bomber jacket is actually a former figure ice-skater and the one with the white hoodie was a former taekwondo athlete. all of the members ages from 19-15

Their fandom is called "Engene" - the movement you like where they hunch down and lift their legs collectively is called the "Engine". The motif of the fingers is related to their name "Enhypen" and their aim to connect, discover and grow together. The symbolism is further integrated through the name of the title-track (Given-Taken) + the song lyrics if you know the history of how the group was formed. Your take on the level of sophistication for such a young group is correct - the members age range is 16-20YO, height range 5'8" to 5'11". Five of the seven members are former athletes, one was a former competitive figure skater. They're in good hands with Be:Lift/Big Hit, already winning the Next Leader Award (FACT) and Rookie of the Year (Golden Disc). They're already very active on social media and will be doing a Fan Sign event next month. Full speed ahead for Enhypen!

ENHYPEN is set to have a new album drop end of September some are saying 9/20 or 9/27. The boys have said they are working hard on the choreo and it is much harder than their other dances. Can't wait! I hope you'll have a chance to review.

Sunghoon the one in the varsity looking jacket was a professional figure skater for 10 years. He gave it up to be an idol. He is an amazing dancer. Very fluid and graceful movements. 100% that everyone should look out for them. They have already won a rookie award from The Fact Music Awards and they even performed at MAMA's. I'm so excited to see where they go in the next two years.

One of them was a professional figure skater for 11 years, Sunghoon. He said that his training makes his dance moves more elegant but on some parts like hiphop, he said it's a little awkward. But if you watch their I-LAND dance battle performance, he did great, he can even freestyle.
U should check out ni-ki's predebut dance videos! He is the maknae and just turned 15 recently. He has been dancing since 5 and his parents owns a dance studios so he has been exposed to various genres e.g. ballet, jazz, hiphop. A few of my fav vids of him dancing are to troye sivan's my my my and boa's one shot. U can search iland ni-ki along with the song names.

Niki, in all black with sandy blond hair (not platinum), is an amazing dancer. He was a back-up dancer for Shinee and debuted at 14. (He just turned 15 last week.) His fan cams for this are fire.

fwiw you mentioning how athletic they are reminded me that 5 of them are actual athletes! heeseung (one with the cap) plays basketball, jake (grey hoodie) and ni-ki (plain black blonde hair not the one w/ the jacket) play soccer (and ofc ni-ki has been dancing since at a young age because his family owns a dance studio), jungwon (white hoodie) does taekwondo and sunghoon (black and white jacket) does figure skating.

Hello thx for reacting! I think for the motif they do, in one of there lyrics there is a line that goes “my red eyes” so I think the motif shows that concept and vibe since their concept is sorta like a vampire vibe but I ain’t too sure someone correct me if it’s wrong ✌️

You should see the performance they did at the MAMA 2020 awards. It starts with PARK SUNGHOON the member who was also a top ice skater doing his ice skating thing that lends into the choreography for the song you just posted. It was only a few days after their debut and was awesome.

honestly we don't have their actual height but jungwon is the shortest with approximately 1,75/1,77 and heeseung is the tallest with approximately 1,84/1,87 so that's a gap of a good 10 cm approximately
