    Great info. Bings are very finiky. I have a mild 50CC high comp. kit 15mm Bing and intake, Biturbo, Iridium plug, Performance ignition coil and I tell ya....I just cannot get WOT tuned perfectly. It's driving me crazy. It was fun at first, but man, I've upjetted, downjetted, changed clip positions, etc.....

    I have a 79 Puch Newport 2 with original air box, promo exhaust, just replaced 12/14 carb for treats 15 mm Bing clone carb. Wanted more HP, now it Boggs when full throttle. Didn't see what atomizer, jet came with new carb. Guess I have to take it all apart again. BTW, getting the throttle cable to fit this carb was NOT easy. My new throttle cable had no room for slack. Please show us how you would do this.

    Sir, what will happen when u increase atomizer samll holes .will it become lean or rich??

  • @TheTrainWreckKid

    I have a 1977 puch. When taking the atomizer off it appears that the jet is attached to atomizer (i.e it will not come off). Should the jet come off or did they come in 1 pieces? Just wondering because I'm running to lean I think. Just put new air filter on and bogs when I hit throttle. Thanks

    Travis, can you tell me where you get that multi-circus carburetor (what brand etc..) and whether I'd need to upgrade the intake manifold and air filter as well. Thanks.

    Was this made after you had problems with your e50 not idling with a kit? I remember a thread you posted on moped army.

      +RSK RC I think this was made right as I was making my breakthrough on fixing that bike. The red Maxi in this video is now the most reliable bike I've ever owned. Really strange final jetting - 68 main, big ole hole in the slide but it idles perfeto all day and has good power through the entire throttle range and never goes over 320 degrees.

    • @RourkeKendrick
      @RourkeKendrick 8 років тому

      You have the treats 70cc kit right? What size bing are you using? And what slide and atomizer did you end up sticking with?

    • @TravisTutorial
      @TravisTutorial  8 років тому

      RSK RC Yep, it's the version 1.5, the DMP kit, nice janky bi-turbo. 14 bing with one of the leaner atomizers, I believe a 2.20 but might have been a 2.17 from a 15 bing. 24 slide all the way. I've clocked probably a few thousand miles on the setup riding in Oregon and haven't even had to open the carb so I can't recall 100%

    • @RourkeKendrick
      @RourkeKendrick 8 років тому

      And what speeds are you reaching? I have a maxi with a treats 70cc kit, stuffed crank, case matched, boss pipe, and a 14mm bing that I just found out was 12mm. I have a 73 jet and a 2.22 atomizer in it. I plan on boring the carb tomorrow so I will be able to go a little faster than 35 mph. lol
      And also, did you pay attention to squish? like adding base gaskets, head gaskets, or modifying your head?

    • @TravisTutorial
      @TravisTutorial  8 років тому

      RSK RC It's good for about 42mph. It could be faster if I took the time to really do a quality case match job and had a better pipe.
      Best of luck with boring the carb, always wanted to try that.
      Proper squish is important for sure, but this is my "fun" bike so I just used thick base gasket material so the piston cleared the exhaust port and then called it day. I used the low comp 70cc treats head.

    Bings are simple? They are like rocket since compared to a Delloto sha. The only thing you can do to tune them is to change the jet and adjust the idle.

    • @TravisTutorial
      @TravisTutorial  9 років тому

      Chrisanddave22 Exactly.
      If you've ever ridden a Motobecane where someone upgraded the Gurtner for a Dellorto 14.12 or even a bone stock Puch e50 with a 14.12 you'll find the idle is pretty rich and you'll bog off the line and there isn't much you can do about it (outside of modding the slide). Both carbs are fine choices, so for someone wanting the quick and easy I'll point them toward a sha 15.15 but for someone wanting to keep their setup I'll help them tune the bing.

      Shit id give my right leg for a yellow Motobecane lol. I have a 2003 Kinetic luna. or a tfr whatever you wanna call it. I say luna because its not the tfr usa one. I was able to tune it by stuffing some rags in the airbox and modding it. But that was back when I first got it.
