Hailey was not acting in this interrogation. She tried to play it off afterwards and she did a good job, but the way they are slowly pulling back the curtain on her backstory is masterful. Tracy is unbelievable and as the show goes on with her, the stronger she gets.

Wow it actually explains a lot about her growing up like that its no wonder why Upton chooses to control her temper on suspects and remain level headed. It makes me admire her more.
Makes her boring
Roberto Hernandez no more than Lindsay who was worse always getting miffed always complaining about her constant mommy issues every episode for four years straight as opposed to Upton who only had this one episode in the one season she’s been on the team opposed to Lindsay who never showed self control until she was caught by the Chief when she was sloppy and stupid enough to hit a perp with her gun in interrogation of all obvious places. Even Voight the most roughest of cops is smart enough to know to show restraint if need be.

Well, unlike most people, I enjoy this. Yeah it's a show about police and action, but these characters are human, with memories, stories, emotions. It's normal for us, the viewers, to get to know them better, for the characters to have personal stories. I like it! And my favorite part about any show I watch is the relationship between the characters. I love to see how they create a bond, not only romantically, but as friends, this is what makes any show special. And here we have different dynamics and characters who really care about each other. I don't know how anyone could find this boring. This is the point. Relationships and people. Yeah, we all love action, their cases and everything, but what makes it better is their relationship, the way they care about each other! Can't wait to see more!

Hearing this story about Upton's past was confusing because of her earlier story but it was emotionally powerful at the same time. And I loved Ruzek and Voight's reactions to her story.

Well sometimes those cops will spin a story to make the suspect relate to them so they could open up!
We all do make mistakes and sometimes other people make us make those mistakes. I really like how Upton shared her story and was able to keep her temper under control.
Am i the only one that noticed that none of Haileys family hasn't been brought into Chicago pd but all the others have?!!
I think in season 8 they are going to do an episode about her past life or at least I hope so it might be something along the lines of her mom gets sent to Chicago med then an investigation or at least that’s what I want to happen
@@chloegreen2757 8x04 her dad ends up in med but honestly it has nothing to do with the story line really, 8x11 a case that makes her reflect on her past.
Probably the best dialogue scene in all of the show. This young man brought me to tears.

I know nothing about this show or these characters but what she's saying in this scene, as a survivor... goddamn that resonates. I think one of the most painful things of my childhood was feeling robbed of anger - of the ability to feel anger without being terrified of turning into the monster.
the detail of the crusts picked off but the sandwich pretty much otherwise untouched breaks my heart. like he thought about eating but felt like he didnt deserve to. or he picked them off cause thats the way his mom made them. who knows. either way - makes me wanna cry
It’s a shame he had that much pressure out on him he had to lie about doing it even though he didn’t and I gotta admit I almost cried when he died

@@rafabz yeh the dude was so stressed by the police to confess that he confessed to something he never did in the first place. When intelligence figured out they got the wrong guy, they went to his cell to ask him some questions, only to find that he had hung himself in his cell.

@@ElKamaleon777 No he wasn't. It's the reed technique and sometimes has been known to produce false confessions. Notice they kept telling him he did it, lied, and said his fingerprints were on the crowbar and tried different methods to get him to confess. The husband hired the hitman in the end and they got the husband (the hitman was also killed by the husband).

Knew about a guy who came home one day to hear his wife complain that their one year old was screaming in terror whenever she came near. ....and he didn't call the cops.
This was the most upsetting scene. The guy was forced to confessing that he didn’t do. He ended up hanging himself after they find out he was innocent.
All of my 3 shows was good, But I was crying last night myself, 😢😢😢😭😭😭
I’m still not sure why he confessed though? It was proven that he wasn’t anywhere near the crime scene and yet he confessed with quite some detail? Did I misinterpret it?
I don't think he was sane, mentally healthy so when she started to talk about how he did it and how it happend he just noded and went with the story. I felt really sorry for him and then for her as well when he killed himself..

i was so confused about him too, I think he has mental illness we can assume that he commited suicide after listening and feeling the pain about Hailey's story and confused himself with his own story.

As far as I can tell they didn't continue this which sucks. They got a coerced confession from this kid he committed suicide and yet they have no follow-up (as far as I can tell) about whether the officers were questioned about it. Like why go through all that just not to follow up? (If they did can someone please tell me which episode).

This episode was great on both sides as reality is....but, I was sooooo pissed off at how some police try to course a confession out of a complete innocent man or woman, and then are proud that they got them to do it....the second thing that pisses me off, is PLEASE stop confessing to something you did not do....I will never understand that...do what you will, but if I didn't do it...I'm not confessing...and as for police get some concrete damn proof...and for fellow officers to say, it really wasn't t the officers fault???? Well, you answer that one for yourself...and if you feel bad, because you were wrong......GOOD.....

DEE i don’t understand the writers. We are just supposed to forget that they had an incredible romance. They even lead us to believe they were going to get back together with the big kiss and then nothing.
