I'm very late to this video but thank you so much for sharing your experiences! I'm an incoming freshman at Duke (just got my acceptance) and really wanted to figure out what I got myself into so this was really helpful.
I find it interesting to listen to smart people talk about their lives at the best schools. I have a degree but I got it from a school w/ an 85% acceptance rate. Definitely not at the level as these highly intelligent people, but good luck w/ your future.
Greek life is kind of a big thing, but I wouldn't say it's really much different from other colleges on the East Coast. Plus, there are student living groups that you can rush that aren't associated with Greek life. And I think they are making some changes to Greek Life that should help. But I never joined a frat/sorority, and I still enjoyed my time at Duke (current senior here).
It honestly depends on what kind are person you are, i.e. are you willing to reach out and make new friends, and the people you surround yourself with. I'm pretty satisfied with my social circle but I feel like i'm sometimes extroverted too
YES!! Break dancing is crazyy 😅 I always wanted to do dance and stuff but I was way too intimidated OOF! Clubs are definitely great to make connections..so jealous youre in Duke 😭
nice video! I'm really interested in duke and also wanna do premed there. How competitive/hard are the pre-med classes at Duke? Are a lot of kids weeded out?
I think that "weeding" happens at every college, and I admit that pre-med academics at Duke are pretty tough. But I don't feel like people are really competing with each other, I've found that people are pretty collaborative and nice. Hope that helps! I could talk forever about being premed at Duke though

Dang really? I thought they were all being released tomorrow on the 14th
Are you also a QB match? I ranked Duke last, and it was the school I researched least, so I've been trying to find out more about it.
@@phoneheaded I am! I ranked Duke 1st but I also want to learn more about what I just legally bound myself to lol. Congrats and see you on campus 🤗
congrats i live like 40mins away and my dad works there (I'm in middle school) I really want to go and have been doing my research!
The dance audition cracked me up🤣 I feel like we’re on FaceTime and I love it !

Bay Area resident applying to Duke in RD round here...I struggled a bit too much in their why essay so that's why I ended up here lol
