  • The Running Channel Meets is where we talk to real runners with incredible stories. Each episode we speak with people who inspire us to run, and give our guests an opportunity to tell their stories, often for the first time.
In this episode we chat with Jasmin Paris. In 2024 Jasmin made history by becoming the first female finisher of the Barkley marathons, an infamous ultramarathon race held each year in Frozen Head State Park in Morgan County, Tennessee. We discuss what drives Jasmin to run, how she trained to complete Barkley and after making history, how does she decide what comes next?
The Running Channel Meets was born from The Running Channel podcast. Hosted by Sarah Hartley (amateur runner) and Andy Baddeley (former pro runner) alongside Rick Kelsey (recovering runner), the TRC Podcast is friendly, jargon-free, and the perfect accompaniment to your runs.

Saying Jasmin is awsome is massivly underrated. Like Gary Robbins said "greates moment in his sportslife", seeing Jasmin complete the Barkley. Cudos to TRC for getting an interview with Jasmin and doing this interesting and kind of "new" compared to all other 10 interviews that is out there

    • @runningchannel

We wanted to get an honest interview about her as an athlete, so we're glad that came across

Totally agree, the running channel will bring Jasmin to a wider audience. I personally believe this is one of the greatest sporting achievements ever. What do they say, “when you’re going through hell…..keep going”….She listened.

Her achievement is still so massively underrated! It's extraordinarily motivational to see Jasmin complete the Barkley marathons whilst still being humble about it. This should go down as one of the greatest individual sporting achievements in recent history, a true icon to anyone and everyone

The day Jasmin Paris finished Barkley was the day she became a unicorn. Amazing, inspiring, fascinating. Not only as a runner, but also in all her other roles. Thanks, TRC, for bringing her story to the TRC Meets.

I was saying the same thing but tbf it did actually hit all of the mainstream media outlets both UK and international news.
Still, she should get BBC Spoty for it. I'm hoping she won't lose out on some *spits* footballer or something

I can't imagine just staying awake for more than 30 hours, let alone 60 ... and running on rough terrain with no obvious trail ... The mind reels. Jasmin is an incredible athlete and such an inspiration. Thank you for having her as a guest.

Love the contrast in the 3 TRC Meets so far. Colin Jackson runs for 14 secs, Adele for 3 and a half hours and Jasmin for 60 hours, but all are runners! Really sums up the ethos of TRC, if you run, you're a runner

My mind is utterly blown by Jasmin. Such an inspiration. I cannot comprehend that level of fitness, dedication, and somehow being a fully functional person (and parent!) outside of the training. To me, this is the same level as walking on the moon.

Btw, when I saw the shorts on youtube of Jasmine approaching the end I had tears in my eyes, I can't watch the thing without tearing up. It has the same affect as when I watch the end of Armageddon where Bruce Willis has the flashback of his life with his daughter as he dies. These two events make me cry no matter how many times I see them.

Like the new Studio, but I feel everyone is facing excessively to the side to make eye contact. Perhaps a wide, establishing camera angle, showing everyone would help.
