Actor Norman Lloyd (1914-2021), interviewed by director Larry Weinstein in June 2018, discusses his performance in Alfred Hitchcock's 1942 film SABOTEUR.
When I saw this in my youth, I thought Fry (Norman Lloyd) could never fall. I never thought they could make it with the 1940's film effects.. Imagine my surprise and shock. Pure Hitchcock. A very underrated film.
I can’t believe he was being interviewed about the film saboteur 76 years after it came out and after he had acted in it that just shows how many years he has been acting that’s insane
I just two weeks ago saw Lloyd in a late 1950s Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode. He lived to be 106-1/2 -years-old. I don't recall any Hollywood actor living to be older than Lloyd.
It was funny, I first saw him on TV in the '90s. I saw him again in the mid-2000s and I wanted to look him up to see how old he was and at the time he was 89, and I was flabbergasted Because he didn't seem like 89. Ever since then I looked him up on occasion to see if he was still alive and he was... Up until last year. I literally thought he would be one of those people that lived until they were 113 or 114. It shouldn't be a shock that someone who lives until almost 107 dies, but it was a shock.
So lucid and candid at 104. Amazing!

RIP 🌺 What a legend with longevity at its finest!

Saw Saboteur in film class 45 years ago. Loved the side street ads with Priscilla Lane gesturing the oil can brand. Normal Lloyd was excellent.
Gone too soon. I thought he would live to 125.....at least.
