2 b Mills might be a dick & have an ego but most players do. His critism of O'Leary is probably justified as a lot of the Leeds players have criticised him, the book he released during his time at Leeds - which critised the players probably didn't help.
I get the impression if you’ve been to Tenerife then Danny Mills has been to Elevenerife. He didn’t have a good word to say about any of his ex-managers.
Danny Mills comes across as a guy who would turn up at a Leeds Legends day uninvited, demand a table regardless, then sit there with a face on, wondering why no one comes for an autograph.
It is interesting what Mills says about O'Leary, - "he is self centered and all about money!" - then from that point on Mills talks about himself and the money he made. I absolutely hate his guy
I remember when Fabregas did that to Robbie Savage. Basically if you there's a BBC pundit out there who is disliked, they'll have been embarrassed by an Arsenal icon at some point
I remember going to a pre-season friendly in 99 as a 14 year old, Birmingham v Leeds, got a few of the Leeds players autographs, including Mills, was a cheeky little bastard and asked for his shirt (didn’t get it) but he was really cool with me and I’ve liked him ever since that day and enjoy listening to him in the media etc, Not long after my interaction with Mills I asked for Alfe-Inge Haaland’s autograph, completely ignored me, like I wasn’t even there, humiliated me, hated him ever since that day and was happy when Roy Keane did him in, Point being, being nice to somebody even in a brief one off meeting can have a lasting effect, Danny Mills = legend, Haaland = CVNT!
The player who forgot his boots for an England match who asked his Bent Agent to go and buy him a pair of boots and was told by Mark Curtis his agent who done loads of deals with big Sam Allerdyce to go and do one lol
Got to be honest, it took me a while to get over him annoyingly laughing at his own jokes/stories whilst the lads are sat there straight faced 🤨 Liked him as a player, not so much as a person lol Good podcast from the lads though !!
At least I have heard of Danny Mills....some guests I admit I have to google.... some genuinely interesting stories and I like his honesty.... he's thrown plenty of players/managers under the bus so far....part 2 should be good....
Sometimes you watch something and reflect maybe I was too quick to judge this guy from afar?! Well happy to say this isn’t one of those occasions, I used to think he is a pr*** and now can confirm that suspicion.👍🏼
🧐 I liked Danny Mills when he played for us but not sure about him now, as he didn’t come across very well like laughing at us and the situation we were in at the time, I know he was doing the best for himself and his family but could of dropped the Leeds pay if he was being paid by 4 different clubs which might of helped us? I think a lot of Leeds fans would agree and are disappointed. Great work though guys as you really do bring out the real person out of the player!
When all's said and done, Stuart Peace will be remembered for being a legend at his club, and for his country, and whilst probably pipped by Ashley Cole will be in the conversation for greatest ever English let back, not to mention one of the hardest players to play the game. What will Danny Mills be remembered for? Fuck all.
Totally , Kiki started the 96 Champions League Final when he was only 18 , played well & had a hand in Ajax's equalizer in Rome that night. The closest Mills ever got to a European Final was watching TV on the sofa.
Had a season ticket at City since 01/02 so had the displeasure of watching Mills pick up his massive wages for doing fuck all for years. From this you’d think Pearce was a shambles for us. He nearly got us into Europe - and would’ve done if Fowler hadn’t missed a penalty against Boro, the same game James was up front causing havoc - after barely surviving relegation with Keegan the season before. Mills signposted early on here that Pearce wasn’t playing him and his attitude shows it!
Enjoyed both episodes, I get the impression Mills is a bit of a control freak, a few times the lads tried to take the mick or joke with him and he refused to break out of his story telling mode, also kept repeating the line that he wasn't very good, stinks of insecurity about how he was viewed by fans. Still a good show, top 5 guest for me, not many guests on here have been to World cups and played with Becks & co.Good work guy's

I saw England play Nigeria in Osaka, during World Cup 2002. Starting line ups are show on the 2 video boards, and Danny Mills' picture is shown above Trevor Sinclair's name XD

Football does not care if you are likeable or if you are popular. It's a dog eat dog game and self-confidence comes with the territory. Mills had a decent career and, like pretty much every professional, looked after Number One. He had a good few tales about football from when I followed it a lot more.
Bit meh. Chris didn’t say much during it which says a lot about Mills’ chat. Laughing at his own jokes when no one else was is a bit cringey... no more so than just admitting you kept Beckham’s invite for story telling not cos it’s unique haha
This must be the first time that Danny Mills has come across as alright but re: Jeff Winter, I've heard him say Danny was the only player he could never figure out, not from a lack of trying. Danny is clearly quite a bitter bloke, definitely someone you'd want on your team rather than against it.
Do hope you guys did think this guy robbed Leeds and thought the same as everyone else! Knew the club was skint and still exploited it! Shocking behaviour! Parki you can’t be proud! You wouldn’t do this to Barnsley. Money ain’t everything
He was obviously a manager -- but he'd been at Norwich for many many years and knew the youth and reserves inside out. Sometimes when a manager in those days, takes a punt at a bigger club, it works, sometimes not, for all sorts of reasons. There is more to the Danny Mills thing at Norwich that what Danny says "I was subbed so I handed in my transfer" - on the contrary, he was played as he was local for a start ( albeit his parents are from London area originally I think ) but don't know what it was about that 90s era, Norwich had a few fruitcakes at that time, Keith O'Neil ( who would be spotted swanning around Norwich looking debonair but then slagged off the club / area that raised him ) Craig Bellamy and Andy Johnson as well, all seemed to be putting the cat amongst the pigeons backstage? I guess, just because you stood on a milk crate on the Barclay, did not give you the crowning right to not be subbed or talked to.
