Great drill. For those that don’t know this drill is working on the last part of a tackle. Finishing through the hips while rolling similar to a crocodile
Teach your kids to tackle first…head on…left angle …then right angle…teach leverage and fits. Once the tackling is sound….move to the wrap and roll. Baby steps…crawl before you walk.
My sons has been playing qb got moved to free safety like your advice just have no idea exactly where to start! Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Attacking the waist and rolling is a much more realistic and common to game speed than a "form tackle" we were taught 20 years ago. It's also a much more "sure" tackling technique.
I’m a football team where do the feet sing fire but whatever he says fire we fire at the pads what is good tip if you’re on defense grab their pads because you can move them around
My son is a first year player. He is so hesitant at the contact point. I had good success through high school ball, but I have found that playing and teaching it are SO MUCH DIFFERENT! Trying to teach my son, is so much harder than playing was for me. Much respect for your ability to teach! Any advice on how to overcome the hesitation? I remember Bill Parcells once said “if they don’t bite when they are puppies, their not going to bite “. I imagine there is a way to overcome that to a certain extent though!
@@jasonfrye8790make fun of them and call them a benchwarmer and say that they will never be able to hit and be successful until they don’t hesitate or tell them they won’t get hurt and that they ain’t any weaker than anyone else and that they won’t get hurt until they hit hard that’s what my dad did and now I plow through people and I have only been plowed once and that was before the speech so what I’m saying is be hard on them

@@dresmith2148 💯💯💯 thanks brother 😎
Yeah
Wry good fundamental drill
This is not a form tackle, this is wrap and roll. Form tackling attacks the upper body while driving the opponent back.

Not sure I understand the question buddy, can you rephrase it?
Good way to miss a tackle when someone stiff arms them or is simply quicker lol they’re diving into the tackle
Not if the target is to hit them in the legs or just get contact on the ball carrier this is a good drill to help with team tackling
Always someone and your that guy smh
At 1:37 kid asked not to be filmed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yep, that's my son! :)
Took awhile for my 6u to tackle more aggressive
It's not natural for most kids that age!
@@coachtappa4228 yeah it's still a battle every week at practice. Try and use the eyes to thighs method
