    Mine is a MY17 VF2 SS sportwagon with the LS3 6.2Ltr V8 manufactured a month before they stopped. Ex cop car, only used for picking up donuts and coffee. Very very nice.

    I have both a VFII SV6 Sportwagon & VH Vacationer. The opening pic caught my eye!
    Probably my favourite cars I’ve owned were my VEII SV6 in Chlorophyl and my VF Calais that followed it. They were both wonderful.

    As a Holden fan, I always thought the FG Falcon was a better looking, better executed car. Shame it never really competed with Holden in sales.

      Dickhead. In 30,40 years they will turn heads and be valuable. read his comment, we will be almost, if not dead when they do. By the way, They will always be better in value than the fords. THE END!

      What I don’t get about wagons is why it went from VZ station wagon to sports wagon. But that’s cool. I’m not a huge fan of station wagons but a VZ station with a body kit seems cool

    I’m not getting rid of my VE Calais any time soon. I Love the car and it’s taken me everywhere i point it. I know it won’t go up in price but I’m going to keep it for as long as possible until the engine blows up or someone writes it off. So far been a good car apart from a number of issues in quality and electricals. Will want to buy a vf in the future though

    So can you enlighten me, where does the one billion $ investment for a ew vehicle go?
    Making the press forms? Research and testing a hand made vehicle for crash assessments?
    What would be awesomely great, is a breakdown show on what is involved to build a car from a clay model onwards and where the money sinks lol?
    They computer laser cut the forms but the how and why in the whole process?
    I've always been curious how stainless trim is made, from when I knew the HQ- is it drawn from a die and by turning/ rotating as it's formed out?
    I understand back in the day that the beautiful bumpers were made out of solid brass on the mock-up concept vehicle,
    I would love to know of all the technical aspects.
    Cheers.

      @Peter Jachmann - Gday mate, just thought you should know that the Omega and SV6 are actually 2 different cars. So in other words you cant have an Omega SV6 as they dont exist yep :) you either have one or the other yep? I mean no offence or disrespect but im 100% positive that this is def the case mate as ive personally owned and loved a MY08 (Series 1 VE) Holden Commodore Omega Ute - MY12 (Series 2.5 VE) Holden Commodore SV6 Ute - MY09 (Series 2 VE) Holden Commodore Omega Sedan - MY11 (Series 2.5 VE) Holden Commodore Berlina International Wagon . Calling your Commodore an Omega SV6 is like calling a Falcon a Futura XR6 or a Fairmont GLi or even a XR6 Fairlaine Ute LMAO do you get what im saying mate? Hope this has helped, not meant to insult :)

      @@peterjachmann2953 so what you are saying then, is you somehow managed to purchase your Commodore brand new from the Holden assembly Plant in Elizabeth SA and if that isn't amazing enough to get ones head around you were also somehow able to tick a few option boxes that everyone else can't for more than just air-con and leather seats, your talking about a completely different engine, a manual gearbox, all the things required to make them fit an Omega base model like wiring harness, cross members, ecu, different dashboard the list goes on and on and on. It's not that I don't believe you bro, but unless you worked there and you're also the Holden GMH CEOs brother in law or something this whole thing smells a little bit like the stuff you find in the stalls at the Townsville Rodeo yep.
      It's one thing to get a SV6 DECKLID for ya Rep Pack but for Holden head office to do what you are saying it would take some seriously deep pockets and or something that rhymes with a Miracle. I'm really fascinated by your story mate, please continue to fill us in?

    WOw to think redbook has it all wrong when it comes to the markets needs and what customers are asking for their cars ? So a W1 GTS/R is $169.000 and maybe has 15,000 KM on it, yet they are asking over $250,000 for a used car also the same with the older fords, XY/XW GT HO's new cost was just over 4,500 and now asking over 500K and depending on if its had a full resto or original factory paint and also with factory books and still original engine and concourse condition its not, it would be classed as very good to excellent condition yet asking price is over 1 Million dollars for a crap old ford XY GT HO white one ( on the news) could have got 4 X New Porsche GT each costing 250K, yet he said nope, now those Sources are worth more collectible than the GT HO) , its like they say it comes down to what the customers are looking for so why are the pricing going up, instead of the red book values, i bet my life any car which has log book servicing and average KMS, so be selling as per red book values? cheers :) Also FORD OWNERS think that their GT HO with out a check via the vin numbers and insurance companies release any information in relation to accidents in the past, only then i would trust any owner of a FORD XW/XY GT HO ?

    I hate the sportswagon. It can't decide if it's a station wagon or a hatch. Horrible compromise and shape.
    Not a fanatic of V8s. My ideal one is a VE fleet special with steel wheels with the police/ute centre caps and trusty four speed automatic.

  • @smartey2612
    @smartey2612 5 років тому +7

    VE and VF arn’t the true Aussie icon. I hate the designs and everything about them. The Falcon FGs and FG Xs are so much better and truely deserve to be Aussie and the XR6 Sprint will be the toughest and quickest Aussie muscle car of that generation.

    • @mills3375
      @mills3375 5 років тому +3

      I sort of agree with you on the VE. I really aren’t a big fan of them until you get to the higher specs like the SSV and so on but I really love the VF. I think they all look nice and have a pretty nice interior. Plus when you get to the series 2 you get a LS3 in it and that’s probably the best sounding SS ever made. But that’s just my opinion

      Millen Rogers VFs look pretty nice but the body screams look at me like a screaming ape and there’s a little to much going on in that car to comprehend what’s happening. I like cars nice and simple like Falcons. Don’t get me wrong though I still don’t mind the commodores but I don’t think I’d ever buy one since there pretty expensive and there nearly the same as the Falcons.

    • @likesp33d
      @likesp33d 5 років тому +5

      Falcon FG and FGX interior was dated compared to VF update. VE/VF had superior chassis and handling dynamics. The Ford’s key strength was the Barra engine especially the turbo.VFII LS3 V8 in SSV Redline spec was an excellent package.

    • @smartey2612
      @smartey2612 5 років тому +3

      likesp33d FG yes, FG X no way. FG X was a lot more better and modern especially in the Sprint range with the dark grey metallic panels, Sprint badging, blacked out automatic transmission shifter, sunglasses holder, lights underneath the sun visors, a pillars were changed to a soft cloth material that nearly no one knows about and sharper more modern looking seats. The VF had way to much going on in the interior to understand what’s actually happening and what’s changed in the models.
