I'm going to get some sleep now. I'll get back up soon and catch up on the comments. Thanks for stopping by everyone! Let me know all your thoughts right here on this comment thread. I'll get to these first. Have a good one!
do you think the iron bank unpaid debt will affect cersei war vs dany if jamie fail to get the gold back to kings landing ? and olenna going out with a class. no chill.
Talking Thrones question: how does cersei know every move danearys is making?? I feel like someone that's around dany is sending cersei information! Who could it be? Varys would be too obvious. I feel like it could be someone we would least expect. 😊
Awesome job, this season is proving to be Amazing ❤️ I agree someone is betraying Dany I don't know who exactly though 🤷🏻♀️ I'm glad she got the news of the ships while John was still there.
I wanted Jaime to behead her with widow's wail. It would've been some form of poetic justice. Having Jaime avenge Joffrey's death by using widow's wail itself to kill the plotter. It would've added a nice touch to the scene too. Jaime 's character has seen some development and changes but he was never the guy who wouldn't kill righteously or end up being seen weak. It pains to see that he can't stand up against Euron. Imagine our s1 Jaime against Euron , he would've devoured Euron completely.
+Michael Collins If you would've seen s1 carefully you wouldn't have said what you have. You're clearly mistaken and don't understand the character well enough. I'll explain how. A person isn't born evil. Does a baby start doing evil acts as soon as he's out of his mother's womb or when he's 5 years old? Joffrey was 10 years old in s1 when his mother implanted things in his mind like 'you'll be the king and the truth will be what you want it to be' and you can do whatever you want to do and have no consequence type of shit. A 10 year old kid is like clay or wax you can mold it to be of any shape and aren't children born in the image of their creators? Cersei made her own monsters. One being her own son and the other being Tyrion by tormenting him throughout his life and the third being the Highsparrow by trusting a religious lunatic and arming him.
Living My Rhapsody he is slowly starting to develop a really noble mentality (this is also a side of his brienne managed to evoke) Season 1 jamie definitely would have. But this one wouldn't strike down an elderly woman who would die either way soon
palemoonlight96 a lot of us still hope that he will see the light, but that usually happens after falling really hard and low. I wonder if he will have that hard fall (another big mistake ), or will he just gave an apiphony and chose to be good.
I think he was really shocked by the implications regarding Tyrion and everything which followed the accusation of he and Sansa being responsible for the murder in addition to the shock of the admission itself. I did like how she didn't regret killing him one bit but clearly did regret how messy it was and the suffering he went through in front of his parents. That was as much of an apology as she would give Jamie for the act.
He never really liked or was a father to goeffrey, also clearly his mentality has changed alot since season 3. Pretty sure he was glad for sure it wasn't his accused bro tyrion
I thought you could see it quite well on his face his disbelief, then horror, then desire for revenge, then constraint. Perfect. He is no longer like his sister, and he's enjoying that his soul is separating from hers. He cares about people now, especially people he can respect on a strategic level, even if they are an enemy. He's CERTAINLY not the same Jaimie who casually pushed Bran out the window to what should have been the boy's death.
You know, I was watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service yesterday, and I've never once made the connection or even noticed she played Lady Olenna. Mind blown!
Agree! (on boss in life and death) About the pricks and the "fuck of" from her to Jamie: Obviously she told him something bad news, but the reverse of the medal, Jamie heard the truth! -how cruel Cersi really is (seen from sb outstanding the family, an enemy) -his destiny by keep holding on to his sister (an advise) both gives hope, that Jamie will turn after finally realizing, that Lady Olenna is right -Confession of killing (as hard to digest) is an important answer she gave him as a gift. It also means much more, for example Tyrion was indeed innocent. Lady Olena used her last minutes wisely -for the good of the realm, -for her revenge (against Cersi) -for Jamie by indirectly telling him, its not to late
I hate Cersei but I love how she outsmarts Tyrion every episode. Tyrion can think too highly of himself sometimes and underestimate her sister but this time she proved herself a good foe. And the revenge for Myrcella was so good. I felt bad for Ellaria but she had it coming. You don't mess with the Mad Queen.
Half-Blood Mutant Nope, Cersie didn't outsmart Tyrion. Tyrion wasn't aware of Eurone and his danger before he attacked them. Only Jaime has outsmarted Tyrion so far by a tactic he learned from Robb Stark.
How much of that pissed-off look on Jaime's face at the end of the episode is due to Olena's confession, and how much is it doe to the implication that his brother whom he loved was innocent of the crime Jaime currently hates him for... Bonus question: How much of Jaime's love for Cersie at this point in the story is due to their bond over Geoffrey's death and their shared belief that Tyrion did it? The position of the Lannister military may be sound, but the bonds that bind their leadership seem pretty fragile.
Jaime freed Tyrion from prison despite being accused and convicted of killing Joffrey. His hatred came after Tryion killed their father on his way out.
Too much of me is book-reader to let this go, but a major factor of Jaime's hate in the book was Tyrion's false confession of murdering Geoffrey and his insinuation that his twin is sleeping with half the king's guard. The Olena's confession HAS to impact Jaime's mindset towards both Tyrion and Cersie.
Luke, yes, but maybe Jaime didn't fully believe his innocence, just figured he got a shit deal in the trial. Now his innocence is confirmed, as well as the reasoning behind Tyrion killing Tywin. I dunno. I reckon we'll find out soon enough.
Dolphin Radio In the books and the show, Jaime never believed that Tyrion killed Joffrey. So Jaime doesn't hate him for that at all. That's why he let him go. He hates that Tyrion murdered their father; although none of them really got along, Jaime has always supported his family members, and he was always closer and more loved to his father than Tyrion, and losing his father still hurt. Jaime often thinks about what Tyrion said to him before leaving, but never actually believes it. As to his relationship with Cersei, I don't think that Jaime ever felt close to Joffrey. In the books, he says that Cerisei never let him hold or talk to him much, as it would look too suspicious. So when he hears that Joffrey has died, he feels nothing. I think that Jaime regrets never developing a close relationship to his children, and that he wants kids to raise as his own. But I also think that his love for Cerisei is not based on their kids at all. He has always loved her, and wanted to believe that she returns that level of ride or die devotion. Unfortunately, Cersei's love has always been based on jealousy (she always wanted to be him, so skillful and powerful) and physical attraction (in the books, she says the best sex she's ever had was with Jaime, and in the show, she tells Septa Unella that she likes sleeping with her him because it feels good,) but none of that says that she actually shares a great understanding with him or any true devotion to him. Jaime is basically hot, good in bed, powerful, and useful with the Lannister Army, but she doesn't actually love him. She knows that he loves her, so she manipulates him as much as possible.
Dolphin Radio he hates him for killing tywin... he know tyrion was innocent for killing joff otherwise he wouldnt freed him. Hi said to bronn that "he killed my father, next time i see him i kill him"
I really hope Dany gets to see Jon's prowess in battle. I lost count how many people he killed in the Battle of the Bastards. I felt like she was quite disrespectful to Jon when they first meet.
Zaidi Bin Ramli she wouldn't know really. He's more famous for being the king in the north I'd presume, but before that he was respected as an excellent fighter, at the very least in the north. More people are gonna care that he is the king than that he's an excellent swordsman.
Well she didn't care that he is King in the North. I just thought maybe if she sees him winning battles she'll respect him more. She was very rude. A lot of people are quite pissed off by her behavior in this episode. hahah
Even if she did, she wouldn't be impressed. Did you already forget she witnessed first hand the fighting skill of who...who was it again..oh yea, motherfucking Khal Drogo. Nobody in the entirety of Game of Thrones would even come close to matching Khal Drogo in battle, especially 1v1, and don't even think of bringing up The Mountain. Khal Drogo would slice him into a shishkabob and rip out his zombie tongue and shove it up Cersei's ass.
What I think is so sad, is that the only one that truly embraced her and will embrace her fully, is Jon, the 'bastard' whom she treated horribly. Because Arya and Bran both lost a part of themselves, they almost seem mechanically and unfeeling. More so Bran than Arya. I also find it amusing how hard Sansa tries to become or emulate this hard exterior, when she's really a caring and soft person inside. I also believe that she brings or will bring these three: Jon, Arya, and Bran, a bit of reality and sense of earth. Because they've all been through supernatural experiences: Jon with the WW the KN and dying, Arya as a Faceles [Wo]Man, and Bran as the 3 Eyed Raven and Warg. Sansa is the only one that's experienced true evil in human form. So I believe that it will be very hard for her to understand the other three's experiences and will be reluctant to until she will see it for herself. Whereas the other three will surely believe the other. I think it's such an interesting dynamic right now with the Stark children...
Yeah I don't know what to think of Sansa she flipped on Jon quickly and spends way too much time undermining him. I'm not entirely sold on her not being the snake so many people think she is, and maybe she's more like Cersei than she realizes.
She's only undermining him because she knows how impulsive he is, and she's right! They basically almost lost the Battle of the Bastards because of his impulsiveness, which she warned him of Ramsay's tendency to be very calculating. Jon basically let his emotional response to Rickon - ruin the battle strategy they had in place. If it weren't for Sansa calling the Vale and LF, they would have died. While I do think she has the potential to be a snake as you said... I don't think she's trying to use it to that purpose. She's a family type of girl and Stark blood runs through her veins. Despite everything she's gone through, I don't think she will turn on Jon. If that were the case, she would have been happily encouraging him to go see Dany. But she didn't. She advised him not to go, due to safety, and when Jon made her Warden of the North until he returned, she turned to look at Baelish because SHE KNEW that that's what he wanted all along. She knows he's an opportunist. But when Bran shows up, she is relieved not only because she's glad he's alive... but because she feels in some way safe. With Bran now being in Winterfell, he's the Head Lord and the power goes down to him. She doesn't wish to be in charge especially because of LF. Luckily, Arya will show up next episode and they'll kill him off soon.
I have a theory, may be its too insane but I just thought what if the White Walkers so desperately want to cease the Winterfell just because this will help them somehow magically transform back to humans? And may be that's why Bran is a Night King from future time who wants to put the end to this curse and shifted himself back in time to achieve all this?
Bran's level of detachment at being reunited with Sansa totally trumped Arya's level of detachment at being reunited with Hot Pie. At least Arya was like mildly pleased to see a familiar face. Bran didn't seem like he cared quite as much to see a member of his family. And when she brought up Jon, it was all about needing to tell him R+L= etc. and not the least bit about missing his favorite "sibling". It makes one wonder if he's just generally detached now or if his regard for Sansa has been affected by something he's seen about her future (which he neglected to mention as something he can see).
Bran level of detachment compared to Arya isn't comparable, Arya detachment is equivalent to an long time ex girlfriend/friend who has moved on and you can sense she has zero care in the world about you. Bran seen some shit, that is the stare of a man who has seen death and realize emotion is useless given the circumstances
I've been watching a lot of GoT after shows, and I find yours, by a wide margin, to be the best. You are concise and get right to the point. Most importantly, with using pictures from each scene, it really helps in remembering what moment your talking about. I've subscribed because you do a really good job with this.
ppl have to realize that Bran isnt Bran anymore. He´s the three eyed raven for now and ever. Bran Stark is Dead. The Scene showed us that he accepted his faith. But it was a bit weird^^
Have no idea how you know some of the things you know, but, love what you do. What a treat watching your videos between Sunday shows. Thank you and keep up the good work
Great breakdown of episode 3. I noticed something when Jon and Daenerys are talking alone. When Jon turns to leave, she says "You better get to work Jon Snow" and I it just struck me as sounding just like Ygritte. Am I crazy? Can't wait for the next episode. Jon can't help her with troops but I think he and Davos will help will planning. Maybe help get the unsullied get out of the trap they are in.
I hadn't thought about that, but yes. I'm finding a lot about this season that echoes of before. Not only does this harkon back to Ygritte, but Ed Sheeran's song in the first episode has a similar tune to the Rains of Castamere, which played quite a bit throughout this whole episode. I'm curious to see if any of these connections come to fruition in other ways.
B1g Tex well, tbh, i think that it sounds like ygritte because she gave him his full name (jon snow) while all the others just call him snow or jon snow. But sure, it may be a hint for the future
I hate how Jon and even fans say he's not a Stark. When yes he is. He's an Targaryen and a Stark.... Even tho Ned is not the father, Lyanna is still his mother
So much happened. This is my favourite episode so far. Every word was so important. Daneries repeating to Jon the same words he had spoke to his people about the sins of the farther was great. The director needs an award for his outstanding work.
anybody else see the look the maester at Winterfell gets from Littlefinger when he mentions that maester Luan kept copies of all messages sent to Winterfell. is there a message that he is looking for maybe? anyone have any ideas on this?
I loved how mentioned that moment when Jon says he's not a stark and drogo flies right over him!! I was so excited over it ahah. Also great video as always.
Thank you for speaking well and concisely. I subscribe to your channel because you don't go on and on about theories that may never happen. You make thoughtful comments, sometimes about things that happened or were said that I didn't catch. Thanks for doing these so quickly.
I was hoping Olenna would rat out Littlefinger before she died too. Olenna is a fucking boss, nonetheless. Hats off to Diana Rigg for her masterful portrayal of Lady Olenna Tyrell. Game of Thrones was lucky to have her for 4 seasons, she will be missed.
Joupena according to leaks the same leaks that confirmed the entire plot of episode 3 before it came out which was %100 true Samwell and Gilly prove Jons heritage is true. But let's be honest it is heavily implied he was a Prince. No bastard is that valuable to a Kings Gaurd.
Joupena I think Sam will find documentation on that table that shows that Rhagar wed Ned's sister and finding notification of Jon's birth written by Ned Stark knowing the truth would be safe there thus making Jon legal .
But Rhaegar can't get married again since he's already married to Elia Martell. Polygamy is illegal in Westeros, so there's no way Jon is a legitimate child.
Joupena Polygamy was common amongst Targaryens. Elia may have been "set aside." Targs had several children. Rhaegar insisted on three children. I don't think he wanted two true born children and one bastard. Elia couldn't produce another heir. That would be reason for him to marry another. He wouldn't have had Lyanna so well protected just to birth a bastard. Had Arthur Dayne been at Rhaegar's side, maybe Rhaegar would have lived. Instead, Rhaegar had his best men guarding that tower. I don't think he did all that for a bastard. I think we'll eventually find out that Jon is a true born heir.
I think it will be Sansa finding a transcript of Littlefinger talking to the Boltons(when the had Winterfell) talking about how he screwed the Starks over.
I watch mostly all reviews because I'm a GOT FAN! I always come back to yours for seconds and thirds because YOU'RE THE BEST ! Not too much wild conjecture, succinct , funny, and poetic. I mean c'mon, your comment about one last prick from the Queen of Thorns Olenna. I caught the feels behind that poetic comment. Viva la Talking Thrones.
Did Jon not anticipate that he would have a hard time convincing Daenerys to believe in Dead Armies and White Walkers? Why didn't he just ask Daenerys if he could keep the autonomy of the North in return for his support in taking out Cersei like Yara did? The finer details, ie. dragon glass and White Walkers, could have been broached after possibly hammering out a deal. The scene just felt awkward, underwhelming and ill-thought out.
Apocal Q Yes, he obviously did. I think he anticipates this with everyone since the WW gave been gone so long that they have become a freaking fairytale in Westeros. Now there could be several reasons why he didn't ask for his autonomy. a) he didn't know about the deal Yara and Then made b) he did know, but he didn't know how to present it to her. The reason Dany allowed Yara and Theon to be independent was because she needed their ships to cross to Westeros, and they agreed to call her queen, and support her claim against Cersei's. Jon is not willing to take part in the war to the South, so letting him have his independence is pretty much wasting men and resources that could be used against Cersei. So nothing to gain from him being independent, only to lose. c) the show wanted to build tension between them and create conflict. There are so many fanfics about their meeting (and most of them end with both of them being all happy and lovely dovey) that d&d purposefully worte their meeting this way to avoid giving us fanservice. Anyways, those are just my takes xD
Thea The Genius - I know there is a lot of Jon/Dany shipping out there, but he would really not have needed to know about Theon and Yara's "deal". It would make good sense and be good practice to offer a potential new ally something in return for their allegiance, as rulers have done throughout history. He could have offered to recognise her claim to the Iron Throne and call her queen (that would not necessarily mean conceding his own claim). If he could procure proof of the Night King, he could promise to ally with Dany to remove Cersei, once that war was won. Expecting everything and promising nothing is understandably, not a valuable investment for Daenerys. I think you are right about Jon not knowing how to present himself, as his quibbles with Sansa potentially shows - or the showrunners did not conceive this scenario, or just dismissed it.
Why didn't The Queen of Thorns dimeout Littlefinger as she said she would? Why didn't Sandor tell Arya about Littlefinger betraying Ned so she could add him to her list? He was in the same room when it went down and they spent weeks together
Ydal Schuless Yeah I wasn't buying it until the latest episode, guess we will find out soon! Hope we get at least one last talk between him and Tyrion though
Missandei has never been a coy person but she was when Davos tried to get a confirmation of Naarth. Also with all the intense dialogues, Davos and Missandei's ice breaker chat seemed a bit out of context and disconnected. Why waste a scene with a get to know session?
You were again spot on. Many thought that Little finger were meet his demise but the show will wait until the final episode this season to do so. What a super final that will be!
i know right, 4 episodes left, don't know if they could compress everything. they havent even started mining the dragonglass yet, i guess the war with the dead isnt lasting more than two episodes.
Did you noticed Cercei with Elaria and Tayne is pulling the same "Mad King Move" , that Aerys pulled with Brandon and Rickard Stark? One watching another die? She IS the female version ef the Mad King !!!
We also noted Little Finger making that very interesting speech to Sansa just before Bran arrives at Winterfell. His speech (which sounded like a reiteration of what Bran tried to explain to Sansa about what it is to be the 3 eyed raven) was perfectly timed for Bran's return. It may suggest Little Finger has a special sight gift as well, since he and Bran seem to be able to see everything happening at once...
the part everyone seems to be missing about the final scene... up until Olenna's confession Cersei and Jamie both thought it was Tyrion who killed Joffery.. although Jamie never truly believed it. He wasn't storming off in anger but rather relief as he finally has the truth... Tyrion was innocent the whole time
After not so wow first two episodes, This episode felt like really watching Game of Thrones. AND Queen of Thorns *Tell Cersie It was me. I want her to know.* Badass even in her last minutes. Gonna miss my favorite granma.
Ryan Styara I know right? This episode seriously felt like the real Game of Thrones that I fell in love with. Unlike these 2 first episodes and most of the episodes in season 6.
What's up with Varys? Why isn't he the one with knowledge of whereabouts of everyone in seven kingdoms? Also why r the ppl of KL cheering Euron and calling Ellaria and Yara as traitors?
Sreeparna Ghosh they r cheering Euron bcoz he has just captivated allies with daughter of the mad king and cersei has already announced in the KL that his daughter is same as he was. Moreover, not to forget that people of KL must be aware that Ellaria has killed the queen's only daughter.
I would imagine having his recent "system software update", Bran is in quite a bit of shock considering all he's now aware of and the position cast upon him. Sansa seems to understand to an extent exactly what he's capable of as far as seeing everywhere in all places. Sly move pulling the Lannister forces out of Casterly Rock. Dany's Unsullied are immobilized currently, and now she has word of the White Walkers and their threat, but her arrogance is going to deter her attention until a proper motivation gets her to understand. Hopefully, Jon's literal sacrifice will be revealed to her by Davos in a one-on-one conversation. It would be wise of her to bend her ear to the man Jon trusts to be his Hand.
I think it's likely Jon will end up showing his scars which are all over his body and straight through his heart, something a normal person definitely can't survive. Words can only do so much but it's hard to argue with those scars.
Did anyone else noticed Little Fingers reaction when the maester told them that Maester Lewin kept all the scrolls? LF quickly turns and looks at him. Why is he so interested on these?
Dayna Molina. Wouldn't surprise me if he'd sent some ravens to Winterfell that helped kick off Roberts Rebellion. Such as getting the Stark father and son misinformed and upset about Lyenna and riding south which led to the Mad King killing them.
Cool to see a good amount of dialog regarding Bran’s demeanor. Of course Bran is not his old self. He is now the Three-Eyed Raven and is transitioning into a role, that puts him on a different level of existence than everyone else. We only know of his capabilities as a time traveler, greenseer and warg/skinchanger. Who knows what other powers that he may possess (Night King level) as the end-game draws near. Mark my words people, in the end-game, it all comes down to Bran.
I was expecting bran honestly, Arya was south of the twins in episode 2, bran was at castle black, which is closer, episode 1 so it would make more sense for it to be bran
I like when Daenerys said that everybody enjoy what they are good at and jon replied that he don't. Could that be a reference to when Barristan Selmy told Daenerys that Rhaegar never liked killing?
This was my favorite episode so far for this season. I think there was a tremendous amount of foreshadowing and the things we didn't understand (Littlefinger's angst about the Maester's records, Bran's indifference) will be explained by the end of the season. I can't believe after Episode 4 we will be over halfway through the season. :(
Jessy C "...fight every battle everywhere always. in your mind everyone is your enemy, everyone is your friend. every possible series of events happening all at once, no surprises. everything that happens will be like something you've seen before..." good advice
Note he also gave the same advice that in the next scene Bran says he is experiencing. See all things past, present and future at the same time. Interesting
What secret wedding? How can Rhaegar get married when he's already married to Elia Martell? Polygamy isn't legal in Westeros, under the Faith of the Seven and the Old Gods.
Elia was killed long after Rhaegar's death, so unless it was his corpse that got married to Lyanna, their "secret wedding" literally makes no sense, because no priest or septon would perform such a rite, considering that Rhaegar was married to someone else by then. And he never got divorced from Elia either, and that's something that cannot be done in secret for that matter.
Best episode thus far this Season. Some weak spots, such as Casterly Rock looking far to similar to Highgarden, not seeing any of the sacking of Highgarden, not getting to see White Harbour, no Hound and the tragically pathetic way the greyscale was dealt with. Next episode stands to be epic.
I'd like to suggest that perhaps one of the emotions that Jamie was feeling in the end scene was that he finally had the truth that his brother Tyrian didn't kill Geofrey. Maybe he was annoyed that this whole time he had been framed.
Telling Sam that he should be proud is not a reward. Having him copy the old manuscripts & scrolls is not a reward. What reward are you speaking about?
How are the Reach and Dorne finished? I don't get it, Just because they sacked Highgarden, doesn't mean everyone in the Reach is dead, the Reach has the largest and well funded army in Westeros, and the Lannisters sacked them in 20 minutes?Really? (The battles between Robb and Tywin lasted a couple of seasons) Dorne only lost a couple of sand snakes, doesn't mean that there are no leaders or generals left in Dorne, Dorne's people are also still gravely bitter over the death of Elia Martell. their army is still very much in tact, why are they out of the picture???
Jerry G Ye wtf how did they lost highgarden so easy ??????? I expected a siege, epic battle.???? what happened LOL. I alredy miss my fav drandma Olena.... such a badass
Jerry G well, as we know from episode 1 and from the quick view of Jaime and his generals we know that He is now in command of most of the soldiers in the Reach. Also, the Dornish now have no leader and nobody who was related to a ruler... pretty hard to get organized in a fashionable way when there is no one there who knows how to rule.
Seems like it's just a cheap way to kill off a storyline. It usually goes that if a ruler is killed, the next most powerful family takes over, please don't tell me that with a land as vast as Dorne there are no other houses left... As for the Reach, Jaime has Tarly on his side, that was it. The rest of Reach should still remain loyal to house Tyrell as they were sworn to do. Even without Tarly, the Reach could have put up a good fight. They are richest region in Westeros, their soliders are very well equiped. Even a seige like that could last month, if not years. Does Jaime have years to spend on a seige? I think not, the show just used some really cheap tricks and I wasn't satisfied, that's all.
As of now dorne is the most powerful kingdom in westeros. They've been largely uneffected by the war other than the death of the main royal family and Dorne is a very large well armed kingdom. To put them out the story is a understatement
Bran isn't a really smart one, right? He could have told Sansa pretty much everything.. what she ate the day before for exsample.. but no.. he had to come up with her rape. Bran must be fun at parties..
Mohamed Hassan Yes, and also, everyone seriously needs to stop hating on Bran. That kid has a HUGE responsibility now as the 3 eyed raven and because of that a huge amount of information is now inside his brain. He's just a kid with an inmense power which he is still learning how to control.
Ariyu U You can easily distinguish book readers from the folks who only watch the show. The book readers just know Bran's importance and the role he has. I expected him at Winterfell's Gates and his role is amazing.
did anyone else notice that when davos is trying to convince daenerys he tells her that the people follow jon because they love him and daenerys comments on what she doesn't like what she does, jon agrees saying he hates what he does, which is basically kill at this point, these are the same things said about jon's true father rheagar
Jesse Jennings I think Milisandra is actually the Night Kings Queen which would explain why she need the magic to hid her true appearance, she is probably running from him and that is why he is coming south to get her back. How is that for a theory. lol
Dragons are smart. It is said they might be as smart as humans. There is a reason Brann could only warg into a halfwit like Hodor. I doubt he'll be able to warg into a dragon since he can't warg into humans.
can anyone please tell me what happened to the high garden army and the sand stone army? like had the high garden army left for kings landing and on it way ? and wat do u think will happen to it now ? thankx.
Jeet Arya actually---nabbing the food source was obvious. I was surprised no effort was made to protect it. And T knew C would know he would go for Casterly before they attacked. Shoulda had Dothraki parked at Highgarden to begin with. (Protecting the food)
Cersei hasn't been behind most of it. Euron took it upon himself to choose his gift, and Jaime came up with the plan to take High Garden. I think most of comes down to the little details we're not getting in the show anymore, due to it's "quickened pace". Grey Worm couldn't get to Casterly Rock over night, when it's all the way on the other side of Westeros. There would be word of movements coming and going. A network that Dany hasn't had time to establish in Westeros. And we can't count on Varys' little birds to help her anymore, as Qyburn took them over for Cersei.
This season has been a letdown so far. No Sweet Robin there to inseminate EVERY woman of Westeros....I thought he'd be he Genghis Khan of Westeros spreading his sweet seed and baby batter to every lady west of Bravos. After all isn't he The Lothario of the Vale? Maybe he's not in the episodes yet because he found Amazon pygmies UNDERGROUND Westeros and he's too busy knocking them up....and we can't know about them until Season 8...SOOOOOOOOOOO....that's why he is not in Season 7.
Did anyone notice Dany said "you have two dead brothers too" is this a continuity error? We all know that Bran is alive but I was under the assumption that Jon isn't aware yet?
Hey, this isn't an error, the people of Westeros don't consider people dead when they go missing all the time. The 'two dead brothers' Dany mentions are Rickon Stark (the boy who was shot down by Ramsay last season) and Rob Stark (Killed in season 4 or something)
First time watching your channel. No offense, but your breakdown is just telling us exactly what happened in the episode. Include some MORE references, easter eggs, predictions, your thoughts on the episode and less narrating on what happened.
Another great video. Thank you! Did you notice little fingers head whip when the current maester said the previous one had keep copies of all the letters the ravens brought to WF? Which one do you think he is concerned about (from cersi, to the boltons, ?) and do you think this is the reason he pulled out the cats paw in episode 4 preview? His secrets are gonna finally come to light and from multiple sources.
What do you think will happen when Jorah meets Daenery? How will she react and so on...?
Awesome job, this season is proving to be Amazing ❤️ I agree someone is betraying Dany I don't know who exactly though 🤷🏻♀️ I'm glad she got the news of the ships while John was still there.
Bree Love ikr
Jon: "I'm not a Stark"
Drogon: "That's right bro"
lmao. good one man
just not in title...but we know
Huell Babineaux if Danaerys is the mother of dragons, doesn't that make Jon the cousin of dragons?
But he is a stark
Suhrit Pradhan lineage in Westeros is traced through the Father, so he would be a Targarian through Rhaegar.
The coolest part was olena telling Jamie that she poisoned joffery ..That Rxn
watchers at the wall Not sure why she didn't mention littlefinger like she promised she would. Hopefully somehow that still comes out.
Brian Dubya I know right! The whole time she was talking, I was waiting for her to drop little finger in the poo!
I hope when LF dies he speaks some lies to create more conflict😂😂😂
I thought for sure he was gonna cut her head off
watchers at the wall For sure! She went out in style
Olenna was a total savage to the very end..her character will be *greatly* missed 💔🥀
Joffery doesn't deserve it. He was a MONSTER and deserved to die like a little twat that he was.
+studmalexy are you in your right mind ? that's not even a joke to tell a woman you shit.
One man crew productions Yea justice for Joffrey right? Lol I'm glad she was a total bitch till the end. Widows Wail is such a dope name for a weapon.
Daenerys: "we all enjoy what we good at"
Jon: "no, I don't"
Rhaegar - great fighter, who never loved it...🖤 I got chills 🖤
anya reuveni soo true
anya reuveni oh wow I never thought of that lol. He's just like his father 😊
samara mitchell he is 😇
this scene just remind me of that conversation between Daenerys and Sr.Barristan...
I was surprised that Jaime did not cut Lady Olena down right after hearing that she poisoned Joffrey. Just to make get death less merciful.
Diana Rigg died like a fucking boss. Lady Olenna Tyrell will always be one of my favorite characters and her exit was magnificent
doommaster677 The Avenger lives on!
You know, I was watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service yesterday, and I've never once made the connection or even noticed she played Lady Olenna. Mind blown!
doommaster677 Lady Olenna is a boss in life and death
It's a shame but she got topped in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' too, seems to be a bit of a character flaw, well done Diana you done good girl :)
Agree! (on boss in life and death)
About the pricks and the "fuck of" from her to Jamie:
Obviously she told him something bad news, but the reverse of the medal, Jamie heard the truth!
-how cruel Cersi really is (seen from sb outstanding the family, an enemy)
-his destiny by keep holding on to his sister (an advise)
both gives hope, that Jamie will turn after finally realizing, that Lady Olenna is right
-Confession of killing (as hard to digest) is an important answer she gave him as a gift.
It also means much more, for example Tyrion was indeed innocent.
Lady Olena used her last minutes wisely
-for the good of the realm,
-for her revenge (against Cersi)
-for Jamie by indirectly telling him, its not to late
I hate Cersei but I love how she outsmarts Tyrion every episode. Tyrion can think too highly of himself sometimes and underestimate her sister but this time she proved herself a good foe. And the revenge for Myrcella was so good. I felt bad for Ellaria but she had it coming. You don't mess with the Mad Queen.
Half-Blood Mutant Nope, Cersie didn't outsmart Tyrion. Tyrion wasn't aware of Eurone and his danger before he attacked them. Only Jaime has outsmarted Tyrion so far by a tactic he learned from Robb Stark.
lol this is all because someone is traitor in team dany
I thought her means of execution and pay back to the Sand snakes was more just than she usually acts.
Z Man When I say Cersei, I mean team Cersei.
they seem to have dumbed down tyrion this season. Winter is coming. Highgarden is the 7 kingdoms best grain producer....seems obvious what to do.
Hi said to bronn that "he killed my father, next time i see him i kill him"
Jon Snow's grandfather burnt his other grandfather.
MiniatureMasterClass Yup lol
A lot of people are quite pissed off by her behavior in this episode. hahah
Dany talking to yara - she can have her independence, the others can ask as well.
Dany talking to Jon - BEND THE KNEE !!!!!!!!!
+Crazy Purple Jon: I'll give you the D!!!!
It was a good spear throw by the Grey Worm that pinned the Casterly Rock soldier to the wall!
that scene was so good!
Iron Eagle Haha yes it was. Peyton Manning accuracy.
Talking Thrones more like Cam Newton...War Eagle!
Goosebumps, all hair raised and some tears at Bran and Sanza's reunion.
See Vang same
Bran's level of detachment at being reunited with Sansa totally trumped Arya's level of detachment at being reunited with Hot Pie. At least Arya was like mildly pleased to see a familiar face. Bran didn't seem like he cared quite as much to see a member of his family. And when she brought up Jon, it was all about needing to tell him R+L= etc. and not the least bit about missing his favorite "sibling".
It makes one wonder if he's just generally detached now or if his regard for Sansa has been affected by something he's seen about her future (which he neglected to mention as something he can see).
zardox78 maybe because he knows his family will die and there is no use of emotional reunions
Damn good point.
He's acting so cringy though, why did he have to bring up Sansa's rape?
Leptin he to tell her something drastic or she wouldn't believe him
Have no idea how you know some of the things you know, but, love what you do. What a treat watching your videos between Sunday shows. Thank you and keep up the good work
Daenerys: "Ey bruh, bend the knee..."
Jon: "Ehh, nah I'm good..."
spartangreg1 Lol "Nah Bish"
Great breakdown of episode 3. I noticed something when Jon and Daenerys are talking alone. When Jon turns to leave, she says "You better get to work Jon Snow" and I it just struck me as sounding just like Ygritte. Am I crazy? Can't wait for the next episode. Jon can't help her with troops but I think he and Davos will help will planning. Maybe help get the unsullied get out of the trap they are in.
B1g Tex Right after she said that I repeated "You know nothing Jon Snow." So definitely! There was something eerily similar about it.
No one has mentioned that Dany gives Jon and Darvos almost word for word the same speech as Jon gave his bannermen.
Game of Thrones was lucky to have her for 4 seasons, she will be missed.
my man talking thrones. love your videos. I look forward to your videos as much as the series itself lol
Did melisandre just predict the death of Lord varys?
and also her own..
I thought so too...
george mezzor very underrated scene, we finally see a more humane side of melisandre.
Also: Varys got rekt again by a red priestess xD
Alcamuz I think she knows arya will kill her
Or Dany will kill her.. Because Jon and Davos say so.. I mean, Jon promised to kill her and jon is a honorable man
your the best GOT channel there is strait up
Caleb Mayo Thanks Caleb
Daenerys:"I'm the last Targaryen"
me : hell Nooo you are not😏
Except she is, unless Jon is legitimized. He's still a bastard, no matter if his father's Ned or Rhaegar.
Thanks Dan! Great video. Next episode is going to be pure octane. I loved the episode!
Lady B I can't wait. Thanks for coming my lady.
what will come of Maester Luwin's raven transcriptions? There's something in there.
I have watched several reviews of this episode and no one is talking about that look little finger gave the maester there is something there.
I agree something is in those messages. Any ideas as to what?
Hope something that will end little finger. Or secondary conformation that proves bran visions
Also, the Greyjoy kingdom is just a group of rocky islands that produce nothing, so Dany wasn't losing much by giving them independence.
I really enjoy listening to your reviews and predictions. You're a good storyteller.
I think its the same poison that was used on Princess Myrcella. The point to is to make the mother suffer.
It was the same..Cersei even said as much. It's called the Long Farewell ☠️
Did you pay attention to the scene at all? Cersei said it's the same poison and she also said it takes a long time so that Ellaria will suffer.
some body how did you find out? The part were Cersei said it clearly gave it away didn't it.
some body
It is the same poison- they made a point of saying Qyburn was able to find what kinda poison was used on Marcella
Ive never felt so good about subscribing to anyone 😂 this is the best channel ive ever seen ahhhhh
"Why did you do that?"
Real pain from Cersie over her daughter's murder.
Why didn't The Queen of Thorns dimeout Littlefinger as she said she would? Why didn't Sandor tell Arya about Littlefinger betraying Ned so she could add him to her list? He was in the same room when it went down and they spent weeks together
There is a mole in the Targaryen's team. I think it is Varys.
Ydal Schuless
Yeah I wasn't buying it until the latest episode, guess we will find out soon! Hope we get at least one last talk between him and Tyrion though
Ydal Schuless or that is what they want us to believe...
My second guess would be Missandei. Something about the way Davos asked about her origin didn't make sense.
Ydal Schuless can you elaborate how it didn't make sense?
Missandei has never been a coy person but she was when Davos tried to get a confirmation of Naarth. Also with all the intense dialogues, Davos and Missandei's ice breaker chat seemed a bit out of context and disconnected. Why waste a scene with a get to know session?
You were again spot on. Many thought that Little finger were meet his demise but the show will wait until the final episode this season to do so. What a super final that will be!
Euron Greyjoy is faster than Usain Bolt .
antisonosam he is a fucking legend
Whitewalkers should hire him to help them reach the Wall at last.
antisonosam Naah, he just split his fleet in two.
Damn! That was an awesome breakdown video! Can't wait till next episode!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No one ever mentioned that Dany almost says word for word to Jon and Darvos what Jon says to his bannermen!!
I haven't even considered that - good catch :D The similarities between John and Dany are very peculiar.
Lesha Easley What was that?
Lesha Easley what exactly do you mean? Where she spoke about having faith in herself?
Lesha Easley what did she say?
I think she means when Dany said, dont judge me by my father's sins or something similar
Daenerys - "I'm the only remaining Targaryen ."
Jon - "you know nothing AUNTY ."
I hate how they continue to delay telling Jon his true heritage. Just wish he knew who he was.
Yeah but him riding a Dragon would be so much better than knowing nothing...
i know right, 4 episodes left, don't know if they could compress everything. they havent even started mining the dragonglass yet, i guess the war with the dead isnt lasting more than two episodes.
Pyro Jack there's still another season left m8
isnt this the final season?
No, theres another one.
Thank you so much! I hadn't thought about information Sam might find while copying the scrolls...
bran was so emotionless
badman 223 knowing everything fucked him up probably
badman 223 - To be fair, he was a bit creepy.
badman 223 he's the night king.
I think he saw EVERYTHING that has happend to his family (which is why he said it to Sansa what happend to her). All of that fucked him up :(
badman 223 he is in a zen like state
Thank you for the breakdown of this episode. I really enjoyed it!
Did you noticed Cercei with Elaria and Tayne is pulling the same "Mad King Move" , that Aerys pulled with Brandon and Rickard Stark? One watching another die? She IS the female version ef the Mad King !!!
Tania Mena I'm starting to think cersei and Jaime are the mad Kings children. And tryion is tywins true born son
Another great post breakdown 1 of best I've seen thank you.
Tyrion was innocent the whole time
That's a great point, Adrian! Although I'm pretty sure he's still pissed at Tyrion for killing their father.
After not so wow first two episodes, This episode felt like really watching Game of Thrones.
AND
Queen of Thorns *Tell Cersie It was me. I want her to know.* Badass even in her last minutes. Gonna miss my favorite granma.
Dude, it's all happening too quickly. I hope they don't fuck it all up by pushing 3 seasons of stuff into two.
Ryan Styara wanted her to tell jaime that LF was involved in joffrey's death
Ryan Styara I know right? This episode seriously felt like the real Game of Thrones that I fell in love with. Unlike these 2 first episodes and most of the episodes in season 6.
Ariyu U Exactly!!
Ryan Stayara..Yes! And I just thinking- If you don't feel the paint while you watching...well it's just not Game of Thrones :D
1:26 finnaly someone noticed it !
Great job , keep doing what you do :)
What's up with Varys? Why isn't he the one with knowledge of whereabouts of everyone in seven kingdoms? Also why r the ppl of KL cheering Euron and calling Ellaria and Yara as traitors?
Sreeparna Ghosh because varys lost his little birds and myrcella was innocent to common people and her murderes ppl would obviously hate
Sreeparna Ghosh they r cheering Euron bcoz he has just captivated allies with daughter of the mad king and cersei has already announced in the KL that his daughter is same as he was. Moreover, not to forget that people of KL must be aware that Ellaria has killed the queen's only daughter.
Great job.
Best review .
Helps a lot.
Well done
The Queen of Thorns - prickly to the end.
Tears when Sansa saw Bran, very touching moment.
Bran blew Sansa mind regarding her wedding to Ramsey. He said he needs to speak to Jon??? Exciting Jorah is BACK! Thanks to Sam.
Bran got that IOS 100000 Update from iWeirwood
I think it's likely Jon will end up showing his scars which are all over his body and straight through his heart, something a normal person definitely can't survive. Words can only do so much but it's hard to argue with those scars.
that sounds quite likely. I guess the thought of Dany and Davos having some understanding conversation just seems like a good scene.
Great surprise to find his channel! Love the detail and opinions. Gj.
Thanks!
Did anyone else noticed Little Fingers reaction when the maester told them that Maester Lewin kept all the scrolls? LF quickly turns and looks at him. Why is he so interested on these?
Dayna Molina I thought it was just me
Dayna Molina. Wouldn't surprise me if he'd sent some ravens to Winterfell that helped kick off Roberts Rebellion. Such as getting the Stark father and son misinformed and upset about Lyenna and riding south which led to the Mad King killing them.
i loved how creepily Bran threw those subtle and not so subtle "Ramsay was trash, and was all Little fingers Fault" to Sansa
Bran will take Jon into the past to speak with Ned, as Ned promised.
Armt Dawg that would be really cool
Awww.. that would be awesome. I'd love to see Ned again.
Am I the only one who was disappointed when bran came instead of arya?
I was expecting bran honestly, Arya was south of the twins in episode 2, bran was at castle black, which is closer, episode 1 so it would make more sense for it to be bran
nope i knew bran willl come first
Yeah, even though it would make sense for it to be bran. I was so hoping it would be arya :(
TheGMP Im always disappointed when Bran appears. I certainly would have preferred Arya, but it makes more sense that Bran arrived first.
TheGMP bran is an integral part of the story how is it disappointing
I like when Daenerys said that everybody enjoy what they are good at and jon replied that he don't. Could that be a reference to when Barristan Selmy told Daenerys that Rhaegar never liked killing?
Carice van Houten (Melissandre) is my neighbour, and she isn't pregnant ;). She did just have a baby...
What's with the winky face
That's so awesome !
I hate to give him any credit, but Lord twatfinger gave Sansa really good advice in this episode, even if he is a POS.
Jessy C Twatbeard! His name is twatbeard!
Jessy C "...fight every battle everywhere always. in your mind everyone is your enemy, everyone is your friend. every possible series of events happening all at once, no surprises. everything that happens will be like something you've seen before..." good advice
George Ogechi it was good advice I just hope it is his last and that Arya kills him in the next episode.
Note he also gave the same advice that in the next scene Bran says he is experiencing. See all things past, present and future at the same time. Interesting
I thought lady Olenna would reveal little finger was involved in Joffrey's death, too. I'm surprised she didn't.
Me too! I would have thrown that little weasel under the bus in a heart beat.
I think Sam will find some sort of documentation of Lyanna and Rhaegar's secret wedding.
What secret wedding? How can Rhaegar get married when he's already married to Elia Martell? Polygamy isn't legal in Westeros, under the Faith of the Seven and the Old Gods.
Joupena Then how was Sansa able to marry the B- nut case
Yeah it's pretty obvious that Sam having access to those manuscripts he's copying will lead to some pretty good info so it was indeed an award lol.
Wasn 't Elia Martell killed by the Mountain?
Elia was killed long after Rhaegar's death, so unless it was his corpse that got married to Lyanna, their "secret wedding" literally makes no sense, because no priest or septon would perform such a rite, considering that Rhaegar was married to someone else by then.
And he never got divorced from Elia either, and that's something that cannot be done in secret for that matter.
Great informative video as always from you Talking Thrones...cheers
Best episode thus far this Season.
Some weak spots, such as Casterly Rock looking far to similar to Highgarden, not seeing any of the sacking of Highgarden, not getting to see White Harbour, no Hound and the tragically pathetic way the greyscale was dealt with.
Next episode stands to be epic.
clive55 yes! Next episode or 2 should make up for the lack of battle scenes today- can't wait
clive55 next epsiode you'd understand why they did not waste much resources on those battles
clive55 Did you really want to watch Jora go through pain for the majority of the season?
How were they supposed to deal with the grey scale
I'd like to suggest that perhaps one of the emotions that Jamie was feeling in the end scene was that he finally had the truth that his brother Tyrian didn't kill Geofrey. Maybe he was annoyed that this whole time he had been framed.
Olenna is a savage. RIP
Stephanie Jaroussky Fuck that bitch
Stephanie Jaroussky Original GANGSTER
Stephanie Jaroussky What a great character and Dianna Rigg played the part masterfully. Charles Dance as Tywin was also perfection! Love QOT.🌹
Love your GOT videos man!
She's pregnant? Uh oh......watch yourself Renly!
Elaria Dungeon Scene & Jaimie - Olenna Scene were easily the highlights of this episode. Fantastic!
Hogwarts professor half rewarding someone for breaking the rules... hmmmmm
I think he bring it up because they were in the place her wedding took place ( the godswood )
Gray Fox | Gaming
Hahah seriously wtf was that!?!
In all seriousness though, Poor kid.
That would be stupid Bran needed to tell her something only she would remember something that torments her
Mohamed Hassan Yes, and also, everyone seriously needs to stop hating on Bran.
I hope that during the war with the dead that Jon looks over and sees Milisandra going full fire mage on the enemies.
Jesse Jennings I think Milisandra is actually the Night Kings Queen which would explain why she need the magic to hid her true appearance, she is probably running from him and that is why he is coming south to get her back. How is that for a theory. lol
at 5:40if you look at the sigil on the mans armor it looks like its upside down. are we sure these are yaras men?
Bran will warg the "dead dragon" Viserion. He will fly!!!!
Oberdan Faber or someone else will, like, ya know, the Night King
Dragons are smart. It is said they might be as smart as humans. There is a reason Brann could only warg into a halfwit like Hodor. I doubt he'll be able to warg into a dragon since he can't warg into humans.
Oberdan Faber actually, the night king will reanimate him as an ice dragon :)
Exactly! In my opinion Bran, even if this hapen, will warg Viserion!
Michael Haber Ice Dragons are no Wight Dragons...and not even similar
can anyone please tell me what happened to the high garden army and the sand stone army? like had the high garden army left for kings landing and on it way ? and wat do u think will happen to it now ? thankx.
I think either tyrian or varys is the traitor among team dainerys , think about it too how cersie knew all the plan of dany.
not tyrion.. varys possibly. but maybe she just can predict dany moves, she is tyrion sister after all, she might knows how he thinks.
Ep 3 was awesome! can't wait for the whole story to play out. it's such an epic show. been watching since the first season aired.
Best GOT reviews on UA-cam! 🙌🏼
Thanks!
Did anyone notice Dany said "you have two dead brothers too" is this a continuity error? We all know that Bran is alive but I was under the assumption that Jon isn't aware yet?
Corey Williams Rickon and Rob.
You misunderstand, I know that, but she should have said "three brothers" because at that point they don't know Bran is alive.
Hey, this isn't an error, the people of Westeros don't consider people dead when they go missing all the time. The 'two dead brothers' Dany mentions are Rickon Stark (the boy who was shot down by Ramsay last season) and Rob Stark (Killed in season 4 or something)
Corey Williams It's only in the books that Jon doesn't know about Bran. In the show, Sam told him Bran went North of the Wall and is still alive.
Corey Williams Sansa knew they were alive am sure she told him
Bran needs to see Jon. I would love to see how Jon will react because by then he will be an item with Danny. Very interesting.
First time watching your channel. No offense, but your breakdown is just telling us exactly what happened in the episode. Include some MORE references, easter eggs, predictions, your thoughts on the episode and less narrating on what happened.
That's what a breakdown is hahaha... It's not an Easter egg or a theory video
Leo lei ur an idiot
Leo Lei he has different videos for breakdowns, Easter eggs and predictions, lol
Thou should inform thyself with the definition of 'Derp'. There are those that are positive that an image of thyself is the very first explanation.
what's the background song at 6:38 please?
WTF was all that between Varys and Melisandre?
Another great video. Thank you!
Did you notice little fingers head whip when the current maester said the previous one had keep copies of all the letters the ravens brought to WF? Which one do you think he is concerned about (from cersi, to the boltons, ?) and do you think this is the reason he pulled out the cats paw in episode 4 preview? His secrets are gonna finally come to light and from multiple sources.
Favorite quote between ice and fire was jon telling dany he doesnt like fighting. He is getting his dads personality.
I'm glad Olenna went out peacefully. Too bad she won't know Daeny takes revenge on the Lords who betrayed her.
I think she's had the best death so far!
