I joined my local maker space last year here in Milwaukee Wisconsin and it is super cool! It has two huge buildings that are open 24/7 for members and have classes on 3D printing, laser printing, blacksmithing, welding, woodworking, and even stained glass. As a young woman going to school architectural engineering, it is really cool to have a place to go to that is hands-on and feel welcomed.
I went to Case, (I actually have Ian on facebook,) thinkbox was a huge reason I chose the school, and I spent a lot of time there. We 3d printed miniature sets pieces during even my theater classes, but my main time there was in the robotics club and for my final. It's a great spot!
Can you guys update the description? This isn't a weekly podcast anymore it's a we'll upload whenever we feel like it and one of the hosts doesn't even show up any more.

Makerspaces (can) overlap with so much, in different ways. Vocational education, schools generally, libraries, recycling, youth centers, common-interest associations, incubators, habilitation... One model is that the localities and basic straff (janitor, coordinator) are provided by state (or whatever) and the inner life is up to various actors to make happen, probably most feasibly like a galleria with delimited "shops".

5'6" isn't average. I'm 5'6" and I'm short. I think 5'9" is average for men. When I lived in San Francisco, it felt like I was 6" shorter than every other guy there.

5' 6" is tall for the average height for an american woman, for which the average is 5' 4". The average American male's height is 5' 9". I know this is just a tiny bit at the beginning, but 5' 6" is NOT the average american height.
