This should be before 2003 because that is the year she went to Bolshoi. But she did periodically go back to Marrinsky performing for special occasions.
Really not a fan of the extended bow sequence after the fouettés, that completely breaks the flow of the story regardless of the fact that the accolades are well deserved. The music isn’t meant to just stop like that, it keeps going and you’re meant to feel the spell of Odile increasing and overcoming the prince as it crescendos. So weird. Love to see Baby Svetlana Zakharova though.
she is ok, but doesn't 'wow' me. Her presentation feels somewhat at odds with the character she is portraying. Doesn't feel like a whole lot of thought went into that part (compare for example to Susan Jaffe), there's not that impression that she's truly 'living' the role and is comfortable and happy in it. Her extensions are somewhat exceptionally great (although these days that is in vogue, so they practically all got that now), but that's pretty much all that is special. And actually in at least one spot I feel the height of her leg is overdone and disrupts the flow integrity a bit. She is a bit tentative in many spots and just doesn't 'own' the performance. Just a subjective observation. But yes, she is obviously a perfect Vaganov product in every other way and is diligently conscious of that.

To each his own, like how I don't like Natalia Osipova getting too Kitri for Black Swan. But Natalia is not just 'ok'. So is Svetlana.
Agreed. Thankfully, she has improved a lot since then.
