    Such good instructions and great songs from my youth. Best music in history. I've made a bunch of 3 stringers a few 4 stringers, just made them and because of you I'm finally learning to play music. I appreciate your efforts Mark.

      I'm glad...everyone should be able to play music. That's my goal. Thanks for your support.

    Really love watching your lessons. Could you explain more about your cigar box setup. I.e. what stings you use and how you tune it. I was looking to buy a cigar box from my local music shop and they said it was tuned to 'open e'. Can this be easily altered ? I'm a complete beginner inspired by you to have a go.

      OK.....first off I play a Rob Wroble CBG ( look him up on FB) My CBG in tuned in open G. (GDg) open E is fine but you'll have a bit of trouble (hassle) changing it over from E to G. If you want to play this kind of stuff I do, you are best off joining a FB group and asking around about guitars in your price range, this is a great big wonderful community. You get what you pay for....choose wisely, look at youtube links of the builders videos. That said, have fun, these are awesome instruments and I enjoy playing them.

    Thanks for the lesson. Your guitar sounds great! Just wondering what amp and effects you're using? Thanks for any help...trying to get a better sound with my amp.😎🎸🎶

      I use an Fender champ clone (12AX7, 6V6, 5Y3) 2 Earthquaker dirt pedals stacked, an Earthquaker phaser and reverb, TC Trip delay... so yeah, I'm an overachiever.

      Uncle Mark's Cigar Box Guitar Lessons lol...it sounds great! Appreciate the info. I have a Champ clone too...one of the Monoprice amps. Was $89.99! Couldn't pass it up. Got a old amp from '59 I'm putting some new caps in and this lil one is great till I get the old one rebuilt! I just have to get some effects going on!😀

      Uncle Mark's Cigar Box Guitar Lessons I was thinking...I believe the amp I got has the same tubes. With the effects I have now, if I get a reverb pedal and a delay I'll be set! Thanks again!☺

    Great lesson Mark! I have a quick question. There is one part where I'm guessing you were playing octaves maybe? Was that just a little bit of pepper you chucked into the stew?

    • @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson
      @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson  6 років тому

      yes indeed..... they're easy on a 1-5-1 tuned guitar. Just play the 1s....thanks for your support.

      Mark, when referring to the octaves, what do you mean by, "Play the ones"?

      The one's are ... GDg or 1 5 1 the ones would be G g . so in a C chord the ones (1's) would be C and c or in D D and d in E E and e and so on....the outside strings I guess would be the short answer
