Although travelling by air is faster you don't get to see and experience the journey like riding the car/bus, the hours could be long and tiring with lack of sleep, road works or other travelling issues, but like you, I too like to enjoy the countryside and the adventure. The buses are not driven at night due to challenging roads or the general fatigue of the driver who is driving all day and is also expected to drive the next morning due to a lack of staff, the new system was put in place to cause fewer accidents on the road.
