There's definitely not enough stress put on having a healthy lifestyle and how that gives you a great edge as a trader.

You are absolutely correct, but getting enough sleep for a middle age person like myself is a privilege. I would give up anything for a good night sleep because it can make or break my day. I have been getting 5 to 6 hours a night over the last 10 years due to stress from constant worries of running a small business ( try to keep it stay afloat.) I am out now and going back to school to take a break from it. Still sleeping 5-6 hr/day, feeling drunk, forgetful and frustrated most of the time (I'm not an alcoholic 🤣) I just can't focus during the day. It's sucks, when you lose sleep over a long period, it will rob you your ability to study, think and react quickly. It will take a long time to readjust the sleep schedule but it is achievable if certain changes is implemented to keep stress is controlled .
Anyway, most ppl I met that have family and financial responsibilities looks just as tired as me. It's life and it can be hard but I will try to slow down and appreciate life, have compassion for others and myself. That positive attitude is the only thing that lowers my stress and improves my sleep. ( part of my problem is that I'm a perfectionist and I it can cause perception bias in a person. I try to be more accepting, relaxed and easier on people and myself, makes everyone happier)

I completely agree with this. I've been self-watching myself through getting destroyed and liquidated just because I was trading when I was sleepy, so I consciously know that tiredness = terrible trading. But what do I do to control it? Like sometimes when I'm about to go to sleep I hop on to charts for fun and end up TRADING EVEN WHEN I KNOW THAT IT'S BAD and get stuck in positions! What actions do I take to prevent this? Because I've lost thousands of dollars because of this, because of trading when tired and sleepy.

like logging out of the exchange can be step 1, what's the next step for which I wouldn't log in and trade again?

Optimising health is an under appreciated aspect of trading strategy.
Also, how we sleep is a gem of a read, utterly fascinating
Put down the cuppa after 3pm (for most people) and let those adenosine receptors do their work!

Depending on what youre trading, you want to be in the market when the best opportunities are available. So unless you dont like making money, you need to be prepared.
