I've been following Duomo for around 2 years now. I myself have an Msc in Neuropsychology. The way you break down psychological concepts and go into detail from studies is great and something I do not see from other Education providers (not for free anyway!). Also top points for giving advice for PRACTICAL APPLICATION. Big fan of these videos, keep it up man 😁
Yesterday I was wondering when will next video be posted. Great piece of work you did here, amazing as usual. I will deffinetely start with how I talk to myself and stop using immersive talking. Thank you for this video!!!
Thank you man for giving out this thorough walk through of how to overcome it, I am sure when it helped others like us it also cure yourself as well. The first one and 2nd one is just coincide with the book I recently read, how to become your own trading coach 101 tips. Thanks again!
Wow...thank you Nicholas🙏 The way you have done the research and presented the tools was superb. I'm sure many traders will benefit from this video. Perhaps you can also include meditation as an overarching tool/habit to better control our inner talk. And yes, I'd be interested in more tools like these in your future videos. Cheers:)
Only just come across your channel and what an amazing 2 videos to watch, I am currently consistent but I struggled for 2 years with this exact reason! I luckily had the pleasure of reading “trading in the zone” which really helped me, but this has just added even more knowledge to the psychology side, I will definitely be going through more of your videos as there is always more to learn! Thank you for the insight and the time you took to make this!

Hi Duomo, I have been waiting for part 2 when the first one came out. Sometimes it is not only our negative inner talk that affects our trading, the opinion of our closed ones as well. My parents and my few close friends casually joked about me losing money or giving back my hard-earned profits. It was very difficult to filter out those voices when I was actively day trading. I got very emotional when I lost money after what they have said. I have even distanced myself from them and refrained from sharing anything about trading with them. I do not understand why people think it is funny to see people losing money. Trading the market is already hard enough and the naysayers make it harder. Your video is very good and I am going to start practising the methods.
Hey Keith. That's a very good observation. That sort of talk can actually drive your inner talk as well, but will also be harmful to your self esteem and confidence. People will often try to tear you down because when you succeed it makes them reflect on themselves and feel some sort of inferiority - so the way to overcome that is for them to feel superior by belittling you. - Nicholas
Bruh you should keep a channel called Monk Trader!!! If you clean up the mind and. Trade, will be bad ass!!! Really like all the great info you put which is very valuable!! Thanks for the effort!! Cheers!! im not from uk mate.. lol
Definitely makes you think about some of the things we do as self sabotage with our every day trading. I shall try to incorporate this into my trading/lifestyle. Thank you for the eye opener
I really like the breakdown of awe and nature. I'm glad that there's a bunch of solutions too so it's convenient, like whenever I don't feel like going outside into nature I can use Solutions 1, 2 or 3.
Yeah, sometimes one might not seem so appropriate for a situation so there are others you can fall back on instead. And, of course, the best benefit will come from stacking more of them together. - Nicholas
a nice piece of academic work definitely helps. Different from other tutors' videos. I wish you can make a real-life video whilst you're trading and applying these techniques so that we get a better understanding of what a real-life trader goes through whilst he(or she) is in the middle of a trade. I am sure it will collect millions of views. Please keep up giving such golden nuggets. I love it. Thank you.
@@Duomoinitiative Thank you Nicholas. You are our hero. We love the rationale and the academic work you present. I wish you all the luck and success in the world because you deserve it.
I feel like journaling have really helped me correct my mistakes and avoid revenge trading and FOMO trading. I thought it was kind of cringe when I heard about it at first, but I did it as professionally as I could and wrote it as if someone else was going to review it at a later point, and it turned out to be a helpful tool to make me reflect over every single trade, as I forced myself to journal every single trade that I took. On an unrelated note, I'm wondering if you guys have any groups or something for traders to communicate with each other? I've been looking for a while for somewhere I can meet similarly minded people to share knowledge and talk about trading in general. Would be great if you have!
We do a psychology live stream every Friday for one hour in our community. We will have psychology courses coming out, but we just include everything in our membership rather than having separate courses. - Nicholas
😂 I appreciate the praise. I'm sure there are many better psychologists on UA-cam, as I'm not even a psychologist. But I do see that these topics are not covered enough for trading and everyone knows how important they are. - Nicholas
Yes definitely. A lot of things Ray Dalio encourages people to do would actually be good for minimising self talk. He also encourages writing down your thoughts and decisions - similar to the journaling point we discussed. - Nicholas
Tom Basso says he does something similar in "the new Market Wizards", he 'watches him self trade from the side' and how he reacts, his posture, his face.
That's a good idea. A lot of trading psychologists also encourage actually filming your trading sessions and seeing how different moments cause you to respond differently. - Nicholas
I need to know how to treat a situation where the broker close my winning trade when I didn't pretend to close it... I was in a long position with profits 📈 and opened a short position... not pretend to close the long position for my surprise the long term position got automatically closed and the short position remains open... Obvious this was terrible and I lost money 💰 The explanation the given me is that I was using ...EDGING...
There are usually two types of retail accounts: netting and hedging. With a netting account, when you open positions on the same asset it will add it (or remove it) from the same position. With a hedging account, you will have them open as separate trades. So you need to confirm which type of account you have and if it's not what you want then see if you can switch to the other type. - Nicholas
@@Duomoinitiative thank you Nicholas for the information 🙏 did a few research too please make a video about edging... I on netting account apparently the edging is to complicated and not worth it on small account is my case
Dude! I've never been as depressed as I am right now, but this video has helped me so much I can't even explain! I'm joining the cause. Imma sign up.
Brilliant, hugely important information - explained expertly and in depth. Love it.
This vid is absolutely fantastic.. for all aspects of life. Not just trading. This one is particularly powerful.. I can't thank you enough for this.

The worst part is having a good trading setup based on your strategy but your mind tries to convince you why the setup is false 😫😭
