I often end up pulling out those icky waxy clogs from shower drains. I’ve wondered if bar soap residue makes up a lot of the sticky parts of the clog that attracts and binds hair (and provides nourishment for bacteria). I use a body wash in my bathroom and don’t have nearly as much trouble as my wife does in hers. She has longer hair but also uses bar soap. Thanks for the video. It looked like something I could have shot in her bathroom last weekend! I don’t have one of the crank operated snakes so I end up digging around with long shaft screwdrivers - it’s on the list for my next Menards trip!
Hi Mike, I plan on going to Home Depot this weekend. My shower drain is also starting to clock. So which one should I pick up the hand crank or the 45 one? Thank you, Mike.
I haven't watched the video yet, but in case there's anyone out there needing a quick solution, there is a plumbing supplier in Tigard, OR that carries a product called "Hair Away" and costs around $10. Follow the directions on the side of the bottle. It's a miracle worker and fixed my very clogged shower drain. It needs to sit overnight, so plan ahead. Doesn't harm the plumbing.

My drain is running a bit slow. Much appreciated!

Just get the hand crank. The power auger is over $400!
